Description
Ogbourne St George 1.5 miles.
This detached, former farm cottage is in a truly rural location, high up on the Ridgeway in Wiltshire, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, 1.5 miles from Ogbourne St George and 4 miles from Aldbourne.
Thoughtfully renovated, this attractive cottage offers a peaceful country base from which to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Inside, you’ll discover a warm and comfortable social space with a superb kitchen and dining area, together with comfy seating where you can relax and snuggle up in front of the woodburning stove.
There’s a further separate sitting room for those who wish to disappear to watch the TV in peace!
There’s a shower room as well as a bathroom on the ground floor, so you won’t all have to queue up in the morning.
Upstairs, there’s room for your entire group, including the youngsters, and there are amazing views across the nearby farmland from the front windows.
Outside, there’s half an acre of lawned garden to enjoy, whilst the well-marked Ridgeway Trail goes straight past the front fence, offering fantastic walking opportunities.
The two adjacent villages of Aldbourne and Ogbourne St George have friendly pubs serving good food and real ales, and there’s a lively golf club close by, whilst the attractive market town of Marlborough has a wide range of shops, pubs and restaurants.
A little further afield, but easily accessible, are the ancient stone circles of both Avebury and Stonehenge, and the Kennet and Avon canal which winds its way through the picturesque Pewsey Vale towards the regal city of Bath.
Should you seek a peaceful holiday base far from the madding crowd then this lovely Wiltshire cottage is the place to stay!

What guests are saying
Beautiful, comfortable cottage set in an idyllic location.
Fantastic base for hiking with nearby pubs available for refuelling afterwards. Cottage was well looked after, had all amenities needed, and the large garden was a hit with the kids. They didn't want to leave! Highly recommended.
Fantastic location, surrounded by nature.
We saw so many animals from deer to owls, squirrels and pheasants. We had everything we needed and it was a lovely week.
Excellent, first class cottage and area.
Highly recommend. Only gripe is no secure garden for dog but we knew this before we came.
