What guests are saying
We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely house overlooking Rossbeigh Beach.
The place was clean, cosy, and had a stunning, calming view of the sea. All facilities were exactly as described on the website - nothing fancy, but everything worked and was well organized. It’s a typical Irish home from the early 80s, so don’t expect hotel luxury, but it had a genuine charm and the right vibe. The only small downside was the heating - it runs either on a coin meter (€2 coins) or via the fireplace. The electric heaters were quite power-hungry, so after the first night (€16 gone just on heat), we happily switched to the fireplace, which not only kept us warm but added to the cosy atmosphere. Unfortunately, we had to cut our trip short and only stayed four nights, but we’d love to return one day.
Disappointing!
We booked for 4 days but left after 2, mainly because of what appeared to be a water leak on the bathroom floor and on the corridor next to the hot water tank. (On reflection, it may have been rampant condensation.) There was no wood-burning stove as promised in the brochure, only an open fire, the heat from which went straight up the chimney and left a damp, sooty smell in the morning. The radiators didn't work, heat being provided by metered electric wall heaters which consumed almost €40 while we were there. On a positive note, the property was clean and well equipped and the bed small but comfortable. The outlook is stunning and the Manager's mother was lovely. We would have raised these issues directly with the manager, and tried to reach her by phone but without success, it being Christmas Day.
Lovely dog friendly cottage by the bay Real fire was a plus as was the views
