2 Castle Cove

The accommodation was great: very spacious, well-equipped, nicely decorated, clean, modern, and welcoming.

The host was very friendly and helpful via WhatsApp when we had a few questions. We were pleased to find a tumble drier as well as the washing machine, which we hadn't expected. Overall absolutely 5* and top notch. Two minor things that might be helpful for other guests to know (obviously the host can't do anything about these!): firstly the address doesn't yet appear on Google Maps, which gets confused and directs you to a similar address a few streets away, so it's worth scoping out via Streetview before you go to locate the actual property. Secondly, because the property is pet-friendly it has hardwood floors throughout, which was very nice (no worries about cleanliness of the carpet) but did mean that any noises / footsteps tended to echo round the house a bit, so we had to be quiet after the children had gone to bed. Finally one note for the host - would be great if you provided a "property information book" of some sort with all the relevant info collected in one place (eg bin collection details, Wifi password, manuals for appliances, details of which keys operate which doors etc). We did eventually locate all this info - some of it by asking the host directly - but having it all in one place would have made it easier.

The cottage was clean, comfortable it was very well equipped with everything We have stayed here before and would love to go back again.

The garden at the back is enclosed and has a nice table for enjoying a meal on a nice day. Everything considered this is a very nice property and Marie and David are lovely. We have been staying in cottages in Ireland for 36 years now and we would definitely say this is one of the best we have stayed in

Immaculately clean and well equipped and only a few minutes walk into the village. Marie was very responsive and helpful, would highly recommended.

it is so comfy homely,from day one .Two weeks there ,and still never wanted to leave.got everything spot on .many thanks to the owner for letting us stay in this stunning cottage .Will be telling friends to come here well worth the journey

What a wonderful place.

It was so much bigger than expected, immaculately clean with a large beautiful garden and lots of birds visiting the feeders. The rooms were so comfortable and the kitchen had everything provided for our needs. The area is very quiet, but there is a grocery store and pharmacy within walking distance. We also took a dog and the garden was fully enclosed and safe for him to enjoy. There were lots of lovely places to visit both nearby and across in County Sligo and Mayo. Marie was there to greet us on arrival and showed us around the property. Thank you for the opportunity to stay in this beautiful home.

The location is ideal to explore Leitrim and is close to high street but far away in cul de sac with peace and quiet.

The Bungalow is very well looked after and reflects Marie's ethos. We enjoyed watching Tits and Finches whilst having breakfast and the garden with apple trees, bird feeder and flowers, berries etc is very well looked after. Marie left us firewood and log starter along other things. Communication with Marie was quick and simple. Will stay again when we come to Ireland/Leitrim. Ty.

A fantastic place to stay.

My elderly parents required an ensuite and this fitted the bill perfectly. Fresh flowers greeted us on the dining table when we arrived. Great selection of leaflets showing you things to do in the west coast of Ireland. Would highly reccomend a visit to Parkes Castle followed by a boat ride on Lough Gill stopping at Dooley Park https://roseofinnisfree.com/ . The house is fantastic location to Sligo town, Strandhill, Rosses point, just under an hour to Knock airport, 2 hours from Galway. The house has a fully stocked shop around the corner (5 minute walk) as well as a take away chinese and kebab/pizza shop which came in handy for quick grab and go meals. There was also a bus stop in use to help tou get around if need be (though, I would absolutely recommend having a car if possible). Wonderful, clean accomodation with good quality utensils and cooking essentials provided. Marie was a delight to communicate with, friendly and super accomodating. We needed to collect the keys a bit earlier than 3 as we were due to be at a family event - Marie even very kindly allowed my dad to use a room to change out of his airport clothes into his snazzy suit while she was still mid cleaning the rest of the house - really appreciated that! She also provided us with a hairdryer to save on our luggage space. Great hosts - we would definitely recommend and use again if we're ever back in the west coast of Ireland. Many wonderful memories made - thank you so much!

It was a much welcomed haven of peace and beauty. The house was well furnished and the garden was spacious and well kept. We received a very warm welcome from the owner when we arrived - and a fire, heating on and a big warm smile. We were set for a wonderful few days once we stepped through the door. The holiday just got better and better.

Owner thought about every detail to make our stay perfect and nothing was missing. Beautiful well kept front and back garden, dogs could enjoy the garden freely and safe. We definitely recommend to stay at this property.

Lovely stay in Dromahair.

Marie was a fantastic host and met us at check in. The house was beautiful, clean and with all mod cons. The garden was perfect too, well maintained and enclosed which was great for the dog. Dromahair has a couple of shops with basically all needs covered, although Lidl isn’t too far away just on the outskirts of Sligo town. Two pubs in the village, with another on the outskirts and the locals were welcoming and friendly. Would definitely stay here again if we are back in the area, as it’s a great base to explore Leitrim and the surrounding area.

Beautiful house and gardens.

We really enjoyed our stay, as i said the house etc was lovely with anything we could possibly need , but the town itself of Dromahair has everything you could need, with convience shops, restaurants( the Riverbank -highly recommended) and even a chinese restaurant. Lovely pretty town.

We had a fabulous time at Castle Cove.

The property is immaculate and has everything you need. We much appreciated the dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. We didn’t make use of the coffee machine but it was a nice offering (pods were left to be used). Salt, pepper and other useful products were available including dishwasher tablets. The rooms were all a good size and the wardrobes had hangers. We spent most of our time in the kitchen watching the numerous birds at the feeders. We loved the jeopardy of the two cats who peeped over the fence. The bathrooms, like the rest of the property were new and clean. The showers were effective. The gardens were beautifully maintained. Our dog was wary of the automatic lawn mower but made friends with it as the week passed. Dromahair was a lovely little village. Very well placed to visit Sligo and around. The village shops were well stocked . We did use the takeaway one night but it was not best fish and chips. We only went in one of the pubs - the Blue Devon. It was friendly and locals chatted to us. The Guiness was good. Shops and pubs were 5 mins walk from the house. Our dog was with us and at the property there was a bed for her and bowls for food and water. The garden was secure and even out the front in the small cul de sac, it was safe for her to wander. Thank you to Marie who met us with the keys for her helpfulness. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to all.

Castle Cove was a beautiful property, the minute we walked in it felt like home.

The cottage is well appointed with every facility you would need to make your stay a happy one. The cottage benefits from having two toilets, which is a must when there are more than two of you, one being ensuite off the main bedroom. Another really lovely feature of the cottage is the wood burning stove in the front room, perfect to sit around after a long day out sightseeing. The kitchen is large and has every kind of implement needed for cooking large meals or just snacks, there is a large dining table which comfortably seats six people and is a light and airy room, just right for lounging around after a good meal. The bedrooms are very comfortable with plenty of wardrobe space. There is a well appointed utility room with a washing machine and a dryer that leads out to the garden which is very spacious and has a nice seating area, ideal for a drink on a warm evening. All in all this is a superb cottage and one that I would happily stay in again.

Quality of all furnishings and appliances were exceptional.

The cottage was well furnished and decorated to a high standard.

All the utilities and appliances functioned perfectly. We appreciated the comfortable seating in the sitting room. We thoroughly enjoyed the dining area overlooking the garden and bird feeders. The back garden was well maintained and provided a wonderful vista. Marie greeted us upon arrival and even provided us with a lovely apple tart and a floral arrangement for the dining table. She was readily available by telephone for any questions. The village is picturesque with two shops for any necessities. Everyone was very friendly. We would return to this home if we were on holiday in this area.

Hired cottage for a week to visit nearby family.

We found it to be comfortable, clean and cosy and had everything you need for a lovely family break. Marie met us at the cottage and made us feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend and we will use again. Thankyou

Lovely home, spotlessly clean and very well equipped.

Ideal secure garden for our dog. It's in a great location for traveling and nice and quiet. The garden is coming on and will be beautiful in the summer, watching the birds while having breakfast became our morning ritual. We would highly recommend a stay here and hope to return ourselves.

Spent 2 weeks in this lovely house.

Spacious bedrooms well equipped kitchen, washer dryer and even a hair dryer.The wood burning stove was a treat on cool evenings. A lovely location steps from the village. It was quiet and secure. Would highly recommend this property

2 Castle Cove is a beautiful, large cottage with everything you could ever need.

It is exceptionally well equipped, with everything we needed for a 2 week long stay - the kitchen is perfect for cooking proper meals. The internet connect was excellent for working while on holiday too. Although we visited in autumn, the garden is beautiful and would be perfect for summer. I don’t have a bad word to say about the property, Marie was lovely and we will be booking again

Great enclosed back garden for dog. Dromahair is a lovely village and great base for exploring being 20 minutes from Sligo . I would highly recommend.

We stayed in a beautiful house in the lovely location of Dromahair.

The house was immaculately clean and well cared for. The garden was beautiful, private and peaceful. Everything you could possibly need was supplied even logs for the stove. The village is lovely and we especially enjoyed visiting the tea rooms for lunch and cake. There is so much to see and do in the area including the Cuilceagh mountain boardwalk, Water sports in Strandhill and the Glencar waterfall. We had a great week.

We had a very enjoyable holiday at 2 castle cove .

The kitchen was very well stocked with everything you would need. It was all very comfortable throughout the house. We were very lucky with the weather so we spent time in the garden as there was a lovely table and parasol we also went touring the area. Unfortunately time ran out on us but we would definately go back again

A nice village with good restaurants, pubs and shops all within easy walking distance of the house.

Well located for visiting many attractions in the area. The house itself is comfortable and well equipped with washing machine, tumble drier, dishwasher and plenty of crockery, cutlery and pots and pans. There is a good private garden with barbeque, seating and umbrella and also a decent washing line. The three bedrooms are all clean and spacious and one has an en suite shower room. The main bathroom has a shower attachment over the bath but no curtain. A hairdryer would have been useful. There is plenty of off road parking. Overall, this is a well appointed house and we would certainly recommend it as a base for a holiday in the area.
