  • "Overall, our stay here was good."

The house was clean and smelt fresh upon arrival. Decor was nice and each room felt inviting. Location of the property is ideal, quiet cul de sac, with a lovely quiet estate. Neighbours were nice of what we saw of them. Bonus it was literally a 5 min walk to the beach which our dog loved going to for the first time. Plenty of shops around walking distance and great scenery walks a short drive away too. Some polite pointers for property owner to potentially improve someone else’s stay: WiFi was incredibly slow, you couldn’t be connected when watching tv as the tv would freeze and quality awful, it was one or the other and even when phone was connected it was a 15 minute task to load anything up. I’m sure the thermostat does not work, for days we were trying to dry wet clothes and warm the place up as it got a bit chilly, without realising the heating was turned off at the boiler, when turned on the heating never went on or off via thermostat which was confusing and frustrating as it got too hot. We were grateful the heating did work however, just maybe for older couples that are unsure how to navigate this. Some extra bits and bobs/utensils in the kitchen would not go a miss, including a masher, larger frying pan, veg peeler and a knife block with some proper knives in, as I was cutting chicken and Peeling veg with a small steak knife, so I’m sure a few of these would be a big upgrade to the available utensils. Otherwise it’s nice that washing up liquid, cleaning products and the selection of crockery was what it was. Something that is normally at properties, that I was looking for was a welcome guide type thing. Not sure if you did already have one, I didn’t see one. In this you could write down information handy, for example, we arrived on Monday to a full bin outside of general rubbish, from maybe a previous stay, we only realised on Wednesday evening, that neighbours had put out their recycling bins for the next morning, to which I did the same because we had accumulated a lot of recycling waste and I assume previous person did not put out the general waste bin to be emptied the previous week as it was almost overflowing, so upon us leaving, I’ve had to leave our rubbish from the kitchen bin, next to the bin outside because there’s no room. So maybe a request/bin calendar of what bin it is to be placed at the end of the drive would make it easier, and as well can mention anything like the boiler, wifi password, directions to the beach, nearby attractions etc. I’m not sure if there’s anything that can be done, but the extractor fan in the bathroom, during the night was very disturbing when it was windy outside, kept me awake for the first few nights then I think I was so tired the rest, I just didn’t hear it
