Description

Courtyard View is an exquisite single-storey house resting at Longford Hall Farm in the south Derbyshire Dales, offering a hot tub, enclosed courtyard, and ample off-road parking in a wonderfully rural setting.

Step inside to discover a beautifully presented open-plan living space, where the well-equipped kitchen, dining area, and sitting area flow together to create a sociable heart to the home, ideal for lingering over leisurely suppers after days spent exploring.

Fire up the electric oven and induction hob to rustle up favourite dishes, gather everyone around the dining table to share stories, then unwind in front of the TV for film nights and planning tomorrow’s adventures.

A useful utility keeps holiday clutter neatly tucked away, while a sleek family bathroom with a bath, walk-in shower, basin, and WC, plus a separate cloakroom, ensures getting ready each morning is refreshingly fuss-free.

When it is time to retire, three elegant bedrooms await, including two double bedrooms and a twin, each thoughtfully dressed to provide an inviting haven at the end of the day.

Outside, the courtyard with furniture invites you to savour your first cuppa in the fresh country air, before sinking into the private hot tub later on, watching dusk settle across the farm.

Set along leafy country lanes in a small village, Courtyard View places you within strolling distance of a welcoming village pub and a network of footpaths that weave through the farm and delightful rural scenery.

Venture to Ashbourne, once a fashionable Georgian social hub, where cobbled lanes, old market stalls, restaurants and coaching inns promise relaxed browsing and evenings out.

Further afield, explore the riverside town of Matlock and neighbouring Matlock Bath, home to Gulliver’s Kingdom, the Peak District Mining Museum and the famous cable car to the Heights of Abraham with its show caves and panoramic views.

Round off your stay with a day at magnificent Chatsworth House and Gardens, medieval Haddon Hall and the market town of Bakewell, or seek thrills at Alton Towers theme park, before returning to Courtyard View at Longford Hall Farm for another special evening in Derbyshire.

What guests are saying

This property was just perfect for us.

We wanted a rural setting away from it all, it delivered. We wanted modern, clean, spacious, outdoor space and a hot tub, it delivered. We wanted private parking, it delivered. We wanted an easy walk to a village pub which was welcoming and offered food. The Red Lion was spot on. We wanted to be near the Peak District, it delivered. We visited, Ilam Park, completing a fabulous walk along Dove Dale, the Stepping Stones, and Thorpe Summit, followed by a short drive to the town of Ashbourne, where we enjoyed a homely meal at The George & Dragon. We explored the area of Longford, picking up a 6 mile circular route, with a stop off at The Red Lion. On our final day we drove to Monyash, completing the Lathkill Dale walk over to Over Hadden, circling back to Monyash via the Limestone Way, with some hilly challenges, completing approximately 10 miles and 20k+ steps. That hot tub was a well deserved treat. Would we return absolutely yes. Thank you. However, Sykes as a travel agency let us down, having used the services for many years, this year we had a query and wanted to speak/chat to someone, they took days to respond and when they did I had to repeat the conversation again, in the end I gave up trying. Sometimes all we need is a human to be available to help with those finishing touches, but it seems that once you’ve booked, the after sales service isn’t as great as it once was, one for property owners to consider when deciding which agencies are best placed to support your business.

We had a long weekend in this cottage in a beautiful location on a working farm.

We had the privilege on one day of seeing inside some of the renovated historic farm buildings as well as the gardens. It really is a quite unique and beautiful location. Inside, there was 3 nice bedrooms, a good sized bathroom and well equipped kitchen. It was nicely decorated and laid out. Towels were a bit on the small side and when we stripped the beds, the mattress protectors really were in urgent need of replacing, but these were minor issues in an otherwise enjoyable stay. The cottage was also a little too remote for us, but nothing you can do about that. If you’re after a quiet, peaceful stay somewhere, away from it all, this would be ideal.
