Beer View Cottage

We stayed in Beer View for a week, but could happily have stayed for a lot longer, and are at a loss to find something new to say that hasn’t been said before about the property and its location!

All we can do is reiterate that the cottage is extremely well appointed, clean and tidy, with everything needed (and more) to make for an easy, comfortable self-catering holiday. The view over Beer is spectacular, and you do not tire of looking out of the window even if it rains! Lorraine and Bob are extremely helpful and knowledgeable with regard to good places to eat and interesting places to visit, plus invariably having local knowledge to impart. Millie (the dog) is very friendly too and likes to say hello. Parking is not a problem within the owners’ grounds. All in all, we had a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing stay.

So i have been to beer view before ,back in 2022,it has been a long time ,but Bob&Lorriane and milly the dog were great ,nothing to much trouble ,i asked them for an exstension lead ,they got me one straight away ,the fire alarm was hanging down from the ceiling on sunday morning ,bob popped right up and sorted it out ,so very impressed with the helpfullness ,we will come again,next year, they have sldo up graded the kitchen ,Lovley touch ,mskes a diffrence to the property,everything was perfect ,we had a great time,reguard,s james &Lorna.

We’ve just returned from a wonderful holiday at Beer View Cottage.

On arrival, we were warmly greeted by our host, Lorraine, who showed us around and explained all the facilities. The cottage was exceptionally clean and had all the modern comforts you could need. The breathtaking views of Beer from the lounge window were an absolute highlight, and we were lucky enough to have beautiful weather throughout our stay. There are some lovely walks down to the beach, although the hill is quite steep — it certainly gets your heart pumping! We also enjoyed exploring the surrounding area, visiting Sidmouth, the Donkey Sanctuary (a fantastic place), Lyme Regis, Branscombe, Seaton, West Bay, Bridport Market and Otterton Mill, which is a lovely spot for a bite to eat. All in all, we had a fantastic holiday and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Beer View Cottage. Thank you so much to Lorraine and Bob for your warm welcome and for all your help during our stay. We would happily return!

This is an absolutely stunning property with amazing views of Beer.

We found Beer view to be clean, well equipped and extremely comfortable. Lorraine and Bob were extremely helpful with local knowledge particularly since it was festival week. We had a truly wonderful stay and will definitely consider rebooking. Can not recommend enough.

Beer View Cottage is amazing, the view of the sea is breathtaking and certainly the main feature of the property.

The accommodation was clean and comfortable and provided everything we needed for a pleasant stay. The owners were also very hospitable and helpful. We would highly recommend this cottage and plan to come back soon.

We stayed at Beer View in the annex above the owners garage overlooking Bob and Lorraine's beatiful maintained and colourful garden, ovrrlooking the bay and village of Beer.

Bob and Lorraine were very friendly and helpful and we cannot fault the modern facilities and comfortable beds in the flat, with an amazing view from the picture window in the living room. We made use of the small side garden and at different times of day we saw horses and rabbits in the field next to us. To get down to the high street didn't take long but obviously a little steep in places and we enjoyed going to the Deli to buy local fruit, veg, cakes and pastries from a very friendly lady behind the counter. We had hake and chips from the chippy (loads of chips) which we ate on one of the many benches around the hoarbour warching the waves roll in. As for the beach, there are some boardwalks to help walking on the pebbles so best to take a towel or something to sit on but quite relaxed atmosphere. We can recommend walking the costal path to Seaton Hole, with it's shallower entry into the sea I had a lovely swim follered by a lovely snack from Jurassic Bits (really recommend). We walked across the costal path towards Branscombe but couldn't manage the steep decent so we drove to the village hall carpark there and did a circular walk incorporating the saxon church (very interesting) and can recommend the Beach Cafe which an extensive menu, also don't miss the 13500 ton anchor on display and the story behind it. Lyme Regis is not far away and so worth a visit too.

Wonderful stay at this lovely cottage in Beer - our second visit and just as perfect.

The cottage was immaculate when we arrived and had everything we needed. The owners Lorraine and Bob where very helpful with recommendations for pubs,cafes and dog walks.

Beer View Cottage is beautiful.

Spotlessly clean and with gorgeous views over the village of Beer. It's perfect for a getaway to either chill and relax or get out and explore other parts of Devon. The owners are lovely and on hand for help or advice. We couldn't recommend this beautiful, peaceful cottage enough.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location, elevated high above Beer village.

The views were stunning, the accommodation very comfortable but slightly smaller than anticipated as was above the owner’s garage. As owners lived on site, they were very helpful in accommodating a couple of my needs and even let me use their garage to do exercise, since the garden was less suitable. Lots to do in Beer and beyond, especially if you like hills, and the coastal track from Beer to Branscombe is a winner, with a fab cafe on Branscombe beach where you can buy great food.

Beer view cottage is lovely, clean, bright it has all the facilities you could possibly need.

Bob and Lorraine could not have made us feel more welcome, they gave us great advice about the local area and places to visit, we also enjoyed their beautiful gardens. We would definitely recommend this cottage John, Pauline and Raffy

The property was clean & tidy and the owners were on hand to give advice on the area if needed. Walking distance to Beer village too. Would recommend a visit.

Bob and Lorraine were brilliant hosts who went above and beyond, the accommodation was spotless and well appointed for a relaxing and peaceful stay. The view from the living room was simply stunning. The location was great for lots of lovely day trips and great for those who love a coastal walk. I would highly recommend staying here and look forward to being back soon.

We just spent an idyllic week over Christmas in Beer View cottage.

The property was everything I had hoped it would be, spotlessly clean, modern, warm and inviting, it really was home from home - so well equipped. Being so close to Beer and being able to walk into the village was a massive bonus and the view from the cottage windows down to the sea were just Wow! The owners of the cottages are so welcoming and there if you need anything, we really did have the best Christmas. We hope to return in the Summer because if it’s this good in the winter then we have to go again!!

Plus their dog Millie was lovely to say hello to every day. Beer is a beautiful village and a great base for the south coast. Sadly we had to head home a day early due to work commitments but we could have stayed far far longer.

An extremely modern comfortable cottage.

The cleanliness of property was perfect.There was nothing else we could have wished for in a holiday rental. Owners were very helpful in advising us with useful information.

We had a fantastic holiday at Beer View Cottage.

The property was very well equipped for all our needs with a toddler. The views are stunning and the location is perfect - just a short walk (although quite steep) from the centre of Beer. The property is dog friendly but you would not know that there had been dogs staying as it was very clean. Our dog absolutely loved the garden and enjoyed a good run around. Lorraine and Bob were very welcoming and gave us advice on where to visit throughout our holiday. We would definitely return again.

The cottage was wonderful.

A beautiful view from the lounge and bedroom. Everything was spotlessly clean, and there was everything needed for a relaxing stay . Bob and Lorraine, were there if you needed anything, and were very friendly.

We had a lovely stay at Beer view.

We were impressed from the moment we arrived. Beer View was immaculately clean. The view from the window and garden overlooking the sea was beautiful. There was a lovely little welcome package awaiting us so we could have a drink after our journey. The property has everything you need to have a comfortable and relaxing week. Both the owners (Lorraine and Bob) were extremely helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The beach is a 5 minute walk and several pubs, shops and cafes within a 5 minute walk. There is a bus stop again within 5 minutes of the property which runs pretty much hourly. We travelled with our pet labrador and we were all made to feel welcome. We highly recommend Beer view (and Lorraine and Bob) and would love to return.

We had a great few days at Beer View Cottage over a soggy Easter weekend.

The weather didn't matter as we had such a cosy set up with amazing views. The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped. The owners were very friendly and welcoming. Would recommend staying here and hope to be back soon

My Mum and I stayed in Beer View for a week in March together with the dog, Rufus.

The accommodation was perfect and the view from the lounge a treat each morning as we were so lucky with the weather. Lorraine, Bob (and Millie of course) were friendly and very helpful with details about places to see and places to eat. Beer and the surrounding area is a lovely place to visit. Thoroughly recommended.

‘Beer View’ is just what is says, the most magnificent views of Beer and the ocean from the bedroom, lounge and kitchen.

We have visited many times and are still finding new and interesting places to visit. A tranquil place to stay. A home from home.

We just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our four-night break at Beer View last week.

The property is beautifully maintained, and the views are simply stunning – it was such a joy to watch the sea from the comfort of both the lounge and the main bedroom, made even better by the wonderfully comfy beds. The en-suite with its excellent shower, alongside the main family bathroom with an additional shower, made mornings easy. Our son particularly loved the patio views while playing guitar and creating new music (which even the horses seemed to enjoy!), and our two pugs had a fantastic time too. We really appreciated the thoughtful touches – the extra treats, dog bowls and towels for the dogs were very thoughtful, and the hamper of biscuits, popcorn, tea, sugar, and milk was a lovely welcome after our journey. You both made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived, and nothing was too much trouble. We definitely plan to return in the autumn – and we’ll be sure to bring more treats for Millie next time!
