Fritillary Cottage

Wow is all we can say cottage was very clean, warm and very comfortable.

Maggi the owner was such a star, helping with go to places. Nothing was any hastle. Roads were quiet and on a night it was like you were the only ones there. Would love to do a return but will have a 4 legged friend next year. Great place get it booked

We enjoyed our holiday the property was very well maintained and equipped we were disappointed as there was no eggs for sale as in your listing ( no fault of the owner ) the hot weather had stopped the chickens laying .

.although we did buy farm eggs nearby also the garden was not as in the listing and it was not a great place to to sit and have tea the owner said they don’t weed for the bees

Wonderful spacious accommodation with all kitchen equipment you require Be mindful that it is off the beaten track but in a lovely setting and close to the local village.

Maggi is an excellent Host, the cottage is clean, and the surrounding nature is great.

No hesitation recommending to couples who want peace and quiet. Located down country lanes and plenty of parking. The Bradworthy Inn serves great meals and very good coffee, village shop well stocked.

The accommodation was spotless and the pictures do not do it justice.

It was perfect for myself and my husband. It had everything you could want and need. The owner was lovely and accomodating and was on hand if anything went wrong or if we needed anything. We will be back!

Very peaceful location within easy driving distance of the coast and Bodmin Moor.

Clovelly is beautiful and well worth a visit, especially if you keep your receipt as you are able to return for free for a second visit. Very comfy bed and an amazing shower, plus one of the best equipped kitchens we've come across in a holiday cottage. We had a lovely break away, thank you Maggi.

Only marked down the facilities because there seemed to be a couple of small items missing from the kitchen but these will be rectified by the owner - but it did have something many cottages don't (oven gloves!

We had a lovely few days at Fritillary cottage and would highly recommend staying here.

Everything was thought of to enjoy a comfortable stay. We cooked one night and had everything we needed to cook our meal. The bed was comfortable and it was really nice having a wet room too. The lovely owner was on hand to help with any queries and welcomed us with a lovely smile too

Miles away from the main areas Bude etc.

1 mile walk to village says picturesque square NOT it is just a big car park. 1 pub nice inside but other than that nothing. We didn't even bother staying way to remote and if you can't walk far you are stuck. £460 wasted and 700 mile round trip from Blackpool make sure you are happy constantly driving.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Fritillary it was lovely place to be.

The kitchen was great lots of space to prepare meals and all equipment to use. The shower was great and also the bed so comfortable. The owner was there to greet us lovely lady it was our first time in there but we will hopefully return in the future.

Avery clean, comfortable, spacious and well appointed barn conversion deep in the Devon countryside.

We were welcomed by Maggi, who ensured that we knew all we needed to, then left us with the assurance of her help if needed at anytime. It is a very quiet and peaceful location, ideal for anyone wanting total peace and seclusion. The only drawback we found was the local road network, being in poor repair and with several poorly marked diversions, blind junctions, etc. Not for the timid driver!

Excellent cottage with model kitchen ,large and comfortable king size bed.

All facilities available for the less mobile or active were available. Despite previous comments the Wi -Fi was good and we were able to stream live football. Beautiful countryside on the border with Cornwall The small village of Bradworthy (a mile away) had grocers, butchers and garage with Petrol Station. We enjoyed a fantastic steak at the Bradworthy Inn. The Tamar Lakes are close by and we spent a day there having a relatively leisure walk and picnic. table

Lovely roomy accommodation in a truly tranquil setting and Maggi a very welcoming host.

Good spot for visiting Bude, Bideford and Appledore and other places in north Devon and Cornwall. We can highly RHS Rosemoor as a place to visit. We were very fortunate in being there in the one week in September when the weather was beautiful. Enjoyed the late afternoons sitting in the sun and being visited by the five happy hens.

The cottage was lovely, Comfortable ,clean and relaxing.

Unfortunately the lane to approach the cottage is full of large ,deep potholes Making going out a hazardous trip. By the way the farm is called South Worden Farm. Not South Walden Farm as your literature says.

Fritillary Cottage was a home from home.

The owners had thought of everything that anyone would need to enjoy their stay at this property. Excellent kitchen, comfortable lounge, comfortable bed, wonderful wet room with shower. Very spacious for 2 people staying here. Underfloor heating when required which really warmed up the property on a few cool evenings. Outdoor furniture in a private and secluded court yard or on the front lawn with views over fields. Maggie and Charlie were perfect hosts always around the farm if you needed them. Enjoyed chatting to them in the cafe. Charlie made the best sponge cake I’ve ever tasted. Would highly recommend and we hope to return in the future.

Our stay at Fritillary Cottage was hugely enjoyable.

It is a stylish, spacious and lavishly equipped cottage. Maggi and Charlie are welcoming and very responsive hosts. It was a pleasure to stay in this fairly remote farming location, away from hordes of tourists but with a charming, authentic village just down the road.

We enjoyed our few days at Fritillary Cottage.

It’s a spacious cottage with a great wet room, plenty of wardrobe space and other facilities. We could not connect to broadband at all during our stay, but could connect with the internet via Wi-Fi on our phones, albeit rather slow at times. I found the bed a bit uncomfortable, but that may be just me. The cottage is in a lovely rural situation. We were a little disappointed the owner did not make contact with us while we were visiting as has been the case on previous rentals.

’ The cottage is beautiful, everything we could have wanted for a chilled relaxing holiday. The cottage was spotless, comfortable and just what we had wished for. Maggi and Charlie were so lovely and welcoming. Great Coffee and hot chocolate in their newly open cafe. Will definitely be booking again.

Perfect for wheelchair users

We were very impressed with Frittilary Cottage, it was very modern, very clean, and comfortable, very well appointed, and one of the nicest cottages we've stayed in, Maggi the owner was extremely helpful, and friendly,which was comforting,as my partner had been having treatment,for his ongoing illness, and she wanted to know if there was anything,she could do,to make his stay more comfortable, which I thought was so kind.

This is such a relaxing spot could do with a bit of signage to the property which was absolutely perfect for us as my wife has lost a limb Maggie met us on arrival we were left coffee milk juice and biscuits nice touch was also bathrobes and when we forgot to pick up milk Maggie came over with some for our coffee and cereal before departure Would definitely recommend the cottage and would return

Nice cottage, not far away from the A39.

Well equipped kitchen and very comfortable bed. The shower was great, plenty of hot water. Maggi and Charlie were excellent hosts. Nice places to visit and to walk around the area: Tamar lakes, Bude canal, Hartland Quay&point, Sandymouth beach& coast path, Clovelly village. Boscastle & Tintagel are only 45 minutes away. Thanks for the welcome pack, very tasty bottle of apple juice. We had a fabulous week.

The cottage had everything we needed and the owner Maggi welcomed us when we arrived.

Owners were available on sight if needed. Very accessible to parts of Devon and Cornwall. We had a lovely stay.

We were very pleased at the lovely space it was very well equipped, very comfortable the shower was fantastic.

Host very welcoming. We had a bit of trouble trying to understand the heating!! The local village has a very friendly shop. Weather was terrible so we didn’t get out and about much. Thank you for a lovely needed break.

Could not fault this cottage everything needed was there , very comfortable home from home and a lovely touch by Maggie the owner flowers on the table lovely biscuits and a bottle of local apple juice.

Overall we were very happy with the property, we found it to be very clean and extremely well equipped.

The only item that was missing and would have been useful for us was a measuring jug, but apart from that everything was excellent with very helpful owners. We would not hesitate stopping at this property again in the future.

A we presented cottage with good features: wet room, etc.

The only problem we found was the bed: we found it very hard. The owner was very helpful and pleasant. A great centre from which to tour this beautiful area, but the narrow lanes are slow going.

The one complaint I had we were only there for one week.

This is one of the best or the best Cottage we have stayed in there was everything you need and all of a top of the range. We will be going back

Not to be confused with very good! The accommodation was the one of the best we have stayed at in this country! The owners had thought of every thing, we didn't want for any thing! Wouldn't hesitate to stay again, which is some thing we haven't said before!!

Absolutely fantastic!

Beautiful scenery, peaceful, clean, roomy (is that a word?), modern and the extra thought for our arrival of the milk & Apple juice (delicious :-)) Flowers on the table was a lovely touch as was having the white goods, towels, hangers etc. available. We cannot fault it, wouldn't want to to be honest as everything was so perfect. If there was an issue I'm sure it would have been minor or definitely sorted out straight away. The holiday cottage and everything to do with it will stay with us forever.

Owners very welcoming and helpful with the storage of our Tandem. The property had everything you could need and more and the owners were always on hand for any queries. Lovely holiday!

Fritillary Cottage was perfect for our requirements, ideal for a secluded quiet location.

Maggie was understanding to our late arrival and made provision for the key collection. The warm underfloor heating throughout was the perfect accompaniment to our Christmas break making our stay extra cosy. I would certainly recommend the cottage and may return in the summer for cycling. Our only recommendation upon reflection would be some USB sockets for devices we can't live without!! Perfect week away, very happy, lovely hosts :)

The property was absolutely lovely Clean and tidy everything you needed was there The only thing I'd say that was a negative is that it's not close to anything its quite isolated it's ok if you just want to stay in and relax The lady who owns this place was very welcoming

The location was ideal for us, close to the village but away from the hassle of the coastline.

A hidden gem of an area. Hope to return, for a winter break. Loved the cottage. We did find the bed a bit hard, otherwise all perfect.

Accommodation excellent, area good although remote the narrow lanes from the village take a bit of getting use to, but once you get your bearings and realise you can't get anywhere very quickly everything is fine very scenic.

Purpose designed barn conversion geared to guests with mobility issues in an ideal setting on a small working farm.

The proprietors Maggie and Charlie ,live close by and were perfect hosts who went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.Situated 12 miles from Bude through narrow country lanes servicing local farms was not always easy but was the price worth paying for the peace and tranquility which we so much enjoyed , a return visit in prospect.

Just a couple of statements/ information needs updating for the Cottage.

It is very rural and not 1 mile to a pub etc. Would not walk along the dark narrow lanes after dark as there is no street lighting. States wifi but this was unavailable for the duration of our stay. The cottage however was lovely and the owners were on hand if needed.

The accommodation far exceeded our expectations.

Spacious, modern facilities but with an air of a traditional devon cottage. See below: Washing machine, dishwasher, full oven and hob plus, a full size fridge/freezer. Comfy lounge furniture and a super comfy king size bed. The sheep, ducks and dogs were a positive delight. When you stay, you must ask to be introduced to Alan, Ringo and Peggy.

A warm and welcoming cottage as was our host Maggie.

Although the weather was dreadful we still managed long walks on the beautiful beaches which were only a short drive away. Coming back to dry out in our cosy holiday home was a joy as a lot of thought had gone into ensuring that all our needs were met. A highlight of our holiday was a visit to The Farmers Arms at Woolsery. We ate in the restaurant, it was one of the best meals we have ever eaten, the Halibut was amazing!! we will return.

The holiday cottage in general was superb and lived up to the high expectations we have regularly experienced with Sykes.

Our only negative comment was that the bed was somewhat hard for our taste.

We were greeted by Maggie and Charlie which was most warming .

They could not do enough for us . The cottage is the only one that has ever had the wow factor , and has been the best holliday cottage with you . Glad we found it , the views were to die for and their small holding great . There was nothing we had ask for it was all there in the cottage.It was clean and well presented . Once again Maggie and Charlie thank you both very much for a fantastic holiday.

What an incredible cottage.

All descriptions were accurate but in no way could the descriptions and photos show how really wonderful this cottage is. Location is perfect, totally peaceful and tucked away in the stunning Devon countryside. A wonderful welcome from the owners, friendly and welcoming. The cottage is the best equipped property we have ever stayed in and the quality and style of the fixtures and fittings are both stylish and luxurious. A lovely welcome pack with chocolate, biscuits, applejuice and coffee. The opportunity to purchase eggs and meat from the farm was wonderful. We barbecued gorgeous lamb and delighted in the freshness of newly laid eggs. We cannot wait to book again. Thoroughly recommended.

In fact it was booked so that's the only reason we're off somewhere else.

Yes Maggie and Charlie who own the cottage were really welcoming and I felt that we were in a very relaxed environment.

The cottage was really warm and comfortable and they had thought if everything! Welcoming flowers, chocolates, a bottle of wine and a pint of milk. Really kind. Great location, loved being amongst the animals. Perfect for my son whose almost 3.

This cottage definitely has the wow-factor.

The cottage is set on a small farm and It is clean modern and contains everything you would need. Maggi is the perfect host, warm friendly and approachable. The surrounding Devon countryside and coastline are ideal for cyclists and walkers. Thoroughly recommend the Tarka Trail And Camel Trail. We shall be looking to return here in the future.

What a surprise to stay at South Wooden Farm in Bradworthy!

It was a fantastic week and we are happy about to be there. Sometimes we want to stay again there!

Cottage was lovely location a bit remote, it is a long walk to the village and pub down very narrow roads, would not want to do that in the dark.

Very quiet and dark for great sleeping lots to do with a drive, beaches, eating out etc, Clovelly worth a visit on a dry day, not too far to Tintagel and Padstow for a day out. Budge is close by and has supermarket and a great beach with some nice eateries too. Sandymouth beach national trust is good and has an excellent cafe.

Highest standard of holiday cottage rental experienced .

Beautiful views and abundant wildlife. Good disabled access to private, warm, comfortable, well equipped cottage, on working farm. Owners very welcoming and hospitable, yet unobtrusive. Lovely place!

WHAT A FIND!

No wonder this cottage won the Best Devonshire Cottage 2016. Wonderful, wonderful immaculate light and airy cottage. the bar is set high here, got to be the top, this is the best cottage we've ever stayed in, that includes Gites in France over 25 years. The cottage has a lovely feel to it and is well thought out for able and less able people, kitchen is well equipped with loads of cupboard space and has everything you need. Good comfy king size bed with good quality linen. Big wet room with two different types of showers again with good linen. We're just deciding when to go to Frittillary Cottage again.

Both Maggi and Charlie, we're extremely welcoming and friendly, they even helped us out of a pickle when our car broke down.

The cottage is very well layed out and has everything you should need. We had a very relaxing fortnight and the weather was fantastic too.
