Offering breathtaking sea views and stunning sunsets from the apartment, this beautifully positioned retreat is ideally located between coast and countryside, providing a memorable stay for friends, families, or couples. Please note, this is the only apartment on the estate that does not accept pets.
Inside, the open-plan living space serves as the heart of the home, with everything you need for cooking up a storm, dining with loved ones, and relaxing after an action-packed day of exploring. Outside, there is private parking to make unloading your bags a breeze, as well as a rear, enclosed courtyard from which to savour the warmer weather. Coastal walks, the castle’s extensive grounds, and Watermouth Cove – ideal for swimming, kayaking, and paddleboarding – are all right on your doorstep. We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Watermouth Clock Tower apartment.
Filled with charm and lovely period details including stained glass, exposed beams, fireplaces, vintage wardrobe etc. The owners had left a thoughtful welcome gift of freshly baked scones, tons of cream and jam, homemade fudge, milk and a range of hot drink options. The beds and bedding were incredibly comfortable and the bathrooms were nicely refurbished. During the evening, we spotted sweet little bats swooping around outside as we enjoyed the views of the sea to the left and beautiful scenery to the right. We particularly loved the comfy sofa in the sunny spot outside the master bedroom, it was perfect for reading or a boardgame. Many games of table football were enjoyed in the games room. Hearing the robot music start at 10, through the wall of the games room, added to the charm and delight for us. The swimming pool was wonderful; it is small, but large enough to swim properly and to play. At 5ft 4, the water was up to the base of my neck when I stood in the deep end. It was perfect for our 4 children to swim alongside us and play with confidence, plus it was nice and clean. My youngest child's face was a picture of joy and excitement as we approached Watermouth and told him we were going to stay in the castle. We were genuinely sad to leave at the end of our stay and would love to visit again. Having visited the castle attraction itself many, many times since the 1980s, then with my own children over the last 15 years, it was a really special experience to stay within the castle. Thank you for a magical break.
This quirky apartment was just to our taste.
Even the loud organ music was fun. Could have done with some details like instructions for cooker, location of thermostat (which took 24 hours to find), curtains which all close properly (broken closer in main bedroom), baking trays which are usable. We would comment in particular on how wonderfully welcoming all the staff at Watermouth Castle were, without exception. Also, the local area and coastline were both stunning. Will be visiting again, as our children had an excellent time.
We loved the quirky castle and theme park but the appartment was a little dated and unloved.
The bedrooms were a good size and well maintained but we had to clean one of the shower heads and the oven before we could use them.
