  • "Long story - arrived to find dust, cobwebs, and even tablets (medication) under seats and in between tongue and groove floorboards."

    I didn't have to look for cobwebs, they were everywhere, which showed how much cleaning had taken place, they were big and plentiful, the spiders were having a whale of a time. I don't expect 5* accommodation, but i do expect cleanliness and this place hadn't been hoovered in months. My daughters room had a toughened double glazed window which the "outer pane" was broken but it had no impact on us as it was the outer pane, inside pane was good. The owner blamed me, i don't know why but it ruined our stay totally as she wanted us out ! we had nothing to do with this outer pane, we hadn't even been around the rear of the property, we had no reason to. But the owner spoke to Sykes and wanted them to throw us out?? We are all very very disappointed, at 68 i don't need stress, i need a calm holiday which i thought we were going to experience, Never again

  • "We were welcomed from Zena meeting us at the entrance to showing us around our accommodation, nothing was to much trouble ,even cooled the hot tub down to a pleasant cool tub to cope with the heat wave we had ."

    Accommodation was all and more what we needed for a wounderfull week away .

  • "We’ve had a truly lovely stay at Burlodge in Devon."

    The lodge itself is absolutely beautiful, tastefully decorated, spotlessly clean and very well appointed, with everything you could possibly need for a comfortable and relaxing break. The beds and sofas are incredibly comfortable, making it easy to properly switch off and unwind. The setting is peaceful and idyllic, surrounded by open fields and fishing lakes, all tucked away behind secure gates which makes it feel very private and safe. The outdoor space is just as impressive as the inside, with a hot tub, comfortable outdoor sofas and a great BBQ area which is perfect for relaxing evenings in the summer. We were especially touched by the lovely hamper on arrival filled with snacks. Local tea and coffee, milk and prosecco was also provided which we thought such a lovely gesture that immediately made us feel welcome. It’s clear a lot of care goes into making guests feel at home. The friendly dogs and the pony were a real highlight and loved a bit of fuss, which added to the charm of the stay. Zena and her family go above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect and that guests feel welcome from the moment they arrive. Nothing is too much trouble, and their attention to detail really makes Burlodge feel special. If you’re looking for a peaceful, comfortable and beautifully presented place to stay in Devon, Burlodge is an absolute gem. We wouldn’t hesitate to return.

  • "This place is an absolute gem!"

    Everything you could possibly want and more is there, it really was perfection. The cats and dogs were fabulous company, as was the pony - and the horse who arrived later on in the week. Most definitely will go back!

  • "We had a wonderful short break at Burlodge."

    We had everything that we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable lesson stay. The property was well maintained and decorated beautifully. We appreciated the little touches like toiletries and robes for the hot tub which just made the stay more comfortable. We will definitely be visiting again!

  • "This was the 2nd time at staying at Burlodge and again we had a wonderful week staying here."

    The property is well maintained and has everything you need. They have thought of everything. The hot tub is lovely to use on a night after a long day walking. Zeena and Tracey are amazing hosts and will help you with anything. We can't wait to stay here again in the future. 5 stars all round.

  • "Wonderful week at Burlodge."

    Zena and Tracey were great hosts. Although we didn't realise, Tracey does provide a menu of cooked meals with adequate notice, menu in cottage. Very nice surroundings and lovely hot tub for relaxing after a day of hiking on Exmoor or the beautiful north coast on the South West Coastal Path. The dogs and cats love a treat as they greet you each day you arrive back, there are two miniature ponies in the extensive grounds and if you're lucky you might get to see the Roe Deer that frequent the area.

    Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback. We are so glad that you had a lovely holiday and were able to enjoy the surrounding areas.
