  • "We had a great stay."

The weather might have been indifferent but Shipload Cottage was warm and very well appointed. The owners Ian and Ali could not have been more welcoming, helpful and friendly. What better way to start a week-long stay in Devon that arriving to freshly-baked scones, jam and clotted cream. We took our Jack Russell and Lurcher at no extra cost and they loved the place, with a woodland walk less tha a minute away . Would we recommend Shipload Cottage? Most definitely.

  • "We had a fantastic week at Shipload - I don't think I've ever been anywhere as quiet and peaceful."

Breakfast on the patio in the sun listening to nothing but birds, distant sheep and the leaves rustling was heaven. The cottage was cute, comfortable and very clean, and a perfect base for driving the coast or heading inland. The hosts Ali and Ian were lovely, and gave loads of tips on places to go and where to get the best food. We'll definitely be recommending Yapham cottages.

  • "The property was very pleasant warm and comfortable."

There is everything you could need included. It is definitely dog friendly with flooring that the dogs don't slip on, dog towels available and a hosepipe to clean them after muddy walks. We used these things a lot as it was a rainy holiday. We loved the convenience of the little enclosed garden which was very pretty as well as useful for the dogs to have a wander in. Watching birds on the feeder was also fun. The woodland walk on the property looked lovely, with bridges and boardwalks. There are lots of walks within easy reach or a short drive. The owners could not have been more helpful during our stay. Guiding us to good walks, beaches, eateries and opticians when a pair of spectacles were broken. A pleasant place to stay.
