12 Dartmouth House

The flat was a perfect size for the four of us.

Our first impression was of total cleanliness and light. The situation is good with countryside views, near to the town centre and nearly next door to M and S Food. It was handy having the car parking underneath and the lift was a godsend now we are not so keen on steps!

Lovely spacious airy flat, great location and the bonus of a secure underground carpark.

Could do with an update on the carpet front but not a big issue. Only issue for me was the lack of chopping board or anything to prepare food on which was the reason I went for self catering to be able to cook at home. But overall was a wonderful stay and very very satisfied

Really impressed with apartment, photos do not do it justice, owners have thought of almost everything , a teapot would have been handy, but we like tea.

Well decorated with nice personal touches, and being a short walk to the harbour was great. Undergrojnd & secure parking was a bonus, as well as the lift, which made moving luggage so much easier. Would definitely stay again if holidaying in south devon.

Lovely stay in Dartmouth.

Property had everything we needed for the week. Nice and spacious flat within strolling distance to all the shops and town.

This was our 2nd visit to 12 Dartmouth House and just as our first holiday there it was fantastic.

We stayed for a full fortnight and enjoyed every minute of it, the apartment itself is just perfect and the location is superb with everything needed right on the doorstep. My wife, myself and our dog had a great time and we were joined for a few days halfway through by our son and his wife who were both really impressed, The addition of a welcome pack would have been the icing on the cake but there wasn’t one provided however that small detail would certainly not stop us giving No12 Five Stars.

12 Dartmouth House is a lovely flat.

It is well furnished & clean. Ideal position, very close to M&S foods & the town centre & river. Quiet, despite central location. Underground parking garage an added bonus.

Stayed previously, flat is comfortable and well located, convenient fir town centre but in a quiet location, kitchen was well equipped, good shower, needs a few bits of maintenance, twins beds not very comfortable for an adult, bath panel looks tired after previous leaks, might be a nice touch to have a couple of throws for cooler evenings and most of all for Dartmouth parking facilities are excellent .

Needs some TLC.

Redecoration throughout, looking very tired. Locality to town and onsite parking is very good, a real positive.

Comfortable and practical and most important , dogs welcome.

Minor point - a mirror in bedroom 2 would be nice.

We had a very pleasant stay at 12 Dartmouth House.

The property is well equipped, very comfortable and warm. Its position is also very quiet, even though it is very conveniently located close to the town centre, being little more than 5 minutes walk away. We thoroughly recommend this property and are already planning our return next year.

Great property as a disabled person having a lift to the property was brilliant.

Could not fault the property location excellent and having a parking place was great. The only problem I had was reaching the microwave as it was on top of the fridge freezer. Otherwise everything was fine Highly recommended

The property was just what we needed, spacious, bright and comfortable.

The parking was a bonus, with the lift up to our floor and the situation of the property was excellent, especially being nearly next door to M & S Food.

12 Dartmouth House was just as described.

The location was great for the amenities of Dartmouth with a lift from the carpark. Our initial impressions were that the decor was a little dated but it was very clean and comfortable and we enjoyed our time there. Overall it had every thing we needed and decor is subjective anyway. Please fit a mattress cover to the double bed.

Generally very nice.

A bit disappointed the dishwasher was out of order throughout our stay. More worrying was the 'fridge-freezer. We realised the motor never cut out at all, as it should do. Maintenance came to look at it and declared it too needed replacing. Our worry was the fire hazard risk due to the faulty appliance overheating. Hoping this is all sorted.for our October booking.

..everything ran very smoothly with plenty of information supplied throughout the process. the apartment was exactly as described and photgraphed (not my experience elswhere) and an excellent location with underground parking which was a boon. I only ever rent with parking as after a long drive the last thing you need is to worry about where to keave the car! Well done, great service/

It was a perfect location with good parking.

A very roomy apartment and we were very happy with it. I would point out that the beds could do with summer duvets on them. The downside was when taking the bedding off before we left I was very disappointed to see that the double ned had no mattress protector on it.

A very good size, lovely light flat and comfortable, kitchen is very well equip, convenient for town centre and amenities.

King size bed could do with a mattress protector and lighter duvet for summer as flat was very warm . Struggled with the feather pillows due to allergies. Parking is good for a smaller family car. We would book again

I might suggest one of the children’s beds is looked at, as it was squeaking every time they moved. That’s all! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Parking space and two bathrooms a bonus

The property could do with the paintwork refreshing.

Generally a good deep clean is needed. Lack of cerial bowls and wine glasses, otherwise plenty of pots and pans. Cooking facilities ok. Good position and parking.

No12 was such a pleasure to stay in and we were surprised by the lovely views of the Devon countryside we could enjoy.

With the central location and safe underground parking added to the convenient lift direct from the basement to the 2nd floor this apartment was truly superb. I can honestly say that myself, my wife and our lovable dog Ludo will be looking forward to booking again in the very near future.

This is a perfectly positioned apartment in Dartmouth with one parking space.

Close to ferry pubs and restaurants. Lovely to walk around and use as a base. The apartment is a good size for 4 people although there is an issue with the bathe it having a over bath shower only a hand held one! I think this would be number one on the improvement list as the only shower is in the en suite whichis not convenient at all. Lovely big bath sheets provided. Hairdryer provided but no washing up liquid or kitchen cleaner provided. Would be good if a list of things not provided could be on the booking site. Also black bin bags and recycling facilities should be provided as everything had to be put into one bag for disposal. Bedrooms are a good size and bedding clean and beds comfortable. Rug in living room needs a good scrub living area is a good size and kitchen facility was good for what we needed. We would book again as the position of the apartment is good even though there was a fair going on in the car park opposite but the apartment owner can't be responsible for that and it was only two nights left when we arrived.

* Pleasant and thorough communication with Coast & Country.

* Overall stay was good with all necessities and amenities catered for. * Great central location and good sized underground allocated parking space (bonus especially in a heatwave and having a guaranteed parking space in a central location). * However, an SUV would find it difficult/ very tight entering Kings Quay at the entrance due to two cars parked at the entrance of the road. Judging by the state of the scuffs down the side of the parked cars, it seems like larger vehicles have struggled to get past. * A few improvements recommended as follows (but it wouldn’t prevent us staying again): * General interior update as looking dated. * Over bath standing shower would be a welcome addition in the main bathroom. * Mattress in one of the single beds (left) needs replacing as springs are felt through the mattress. * Main duvet needs replacing due to stains from previous users. * Washing machine/ dryer and dishwasher runs loud whilst on. Replacement with more modern appliances would eliminate this. * Perhaps having a hairdryer available for those who don’t bring their own. * Instructions for location of outdoor bin and key code would be helpful as this was not detailed in the welcome pack. I had to contact Coast & Country for this information. * Only downside was the squawking of the seagulls day and night, due to where they congregate. The windows of the flat offer no soundproofing when closed.

No complaints whatsoever about the property itself, but SPECIFIC information was sadly lacking, especially from the folder "supposedly" containing information about the property - which it most definitely did not - just generalisations of what was expected of you!

e.g: A short, simple note identifying where the manuals could be found for the oven, dishwasher etc., would have been useful. (Finally discovered purely by chance! They're in the drawer on the OUTSIDE of the kitchen worktop, next to the double opening windows/doors.) "Generalisation" about waste disposal at the end of the holiday, so had to visit the office to deternine what was necessary. (I was not alone here - met a lady when disposing of the black bin bag in the bin store, who had had exactly the same issues of determining what we were supposed to do.) And finally - WHY OH WHY are we expected to follow the detailed travel instructions from the M5 (or wherever,) to find the address of the office to collect keys? This needs to be at the very beginning of the final email instructions, and needs just a property number, postcode and perhaps a simple map identifying the location of the office related to the quay, M&S and the Newcomen Museum. (Sorry ladies, you're absolutely excellent at the "doing" things, but now and then - just on the odd occasion, you need the input of a man to deal with the "organising" things, as this is proof, if proof were needed, that both are needed to blend the details with the practicalities!)

Lovely flat very roomy comfy parking lift would happily come again only draw back could do with better information re waste hard to work out where to put and split up waste, so had to bag up all waste together.

Perfect accommodation for the price with covered parking, right in the centre of Dartmouth.

Although there isn’t a view of the river Dart from the accommodation it is only a few hundred feet from the river front and the gardens. The M&S food store is just around the corner which was very useful. Highly recommended.

Lovely flat in perfect location.

Clean & nicely furnished. Underground secure parking a huge bonus. Please replace the horribly heavy & far too thick duvet on the double bed - absolutely dreadful & very uncomfortable, & covered in stains.

Spacious two bedroom apartment ideally located yards from all that Dartmouth has to offer.

On site parking was a huge bonus. All you need for self catering although with all the great places to eat we didn't use them.

Easy Access to apartment via lift. Apartment clean, and well maintained with everything you need. Just wish the second bedroom had a shower over the bath. 10 out of 10 thank you

We had a lovely time the apartment was spacious & very compfortable & we would cirtainly stay their again,it was close to all the amenities that Dertmouth had to offer& there was a lovely viab about the town.

It was clean comfortable and had everything you needed for an enjoyable stay. We have stayed in Dartmouth House before and we loved it so much we booked again. We took our little chihuahua Chico who enjoyed his stay too. Facilities were quick and easy access to taking him outside when needed. What can I say… definately worth a stay and visit to Dartmouth. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Happy holidays xx

Lovely property in the perfect location.

It was a pleasure to be there!

A lovely apartment, in a brilliant position so near the river and the shops.

A bonus having the underground parking space. The apartment had everything we needed and was spotless. A couple of small niggles - it wasn't clear where we had to put the rubbish at the end of our stay and we could have done with a thinner duvet! Luckily, there was a fan in the apartment to keep us cool at night.

Didn’t find appliance instructions very easily, in a drawer!

So couldn’t use dishwasher. Think oven seal not working as temperature wasn’t right, food burnt or undercooked.

Spotlessly clean apartment in the centre of Dartmouth, with underground parking.

Ideal for a week away with the bonus of the sun being out all week ☀️.

All round everything was fine.

Flat 12 in Dartmouth House is the perfect place to stay when you are holidaying in Dartmouth or the South Hams.

This was the first time we stayed in 12 Dartmouth house, Location of the property is fantastic!

and the underground parking is such a bonus. All in all it was first class, a few little things that could be sorted out like the dressing table Lamp doesn’t work! One of the pillows on the main bedroom bed really needs replacing! and the television is so hard to work out so perhaps think about leaving some instructions out on the table for us especially if you’re a little bit older like we were Technology doesn’t come so easy to us !

Really enjoyed our stay at 12 Dartmouth House.

The flat is very spacious, very clean and very well equipped. The secure underground parking is a fantastic bonus. The flat is situated a few minutes level walk from the centre. We would definitely recommend this holiday flat to anyone wishing to stay in Dartmouth.

We did enjoy our stay but.

.... Toaster is broken, only browns one side of the bread Dryer part of washing machine is broken, think the heating element might have gone, only one small clothes airer in the house not enough to get clothes dry. Washing up sponges were all used, not very hygienic we’ve always had new sponges provided in every holiday home we’ve stopped in. Reception on TV is very variable seems to be weather dependent, some days there were no channels at all

Perfect location for the town centre and access to the bars and restaurants.

The standard size, secure parking space is a really good addition. The flat was excellent and met our needs well.

Some redecoration would be good, particularly the bathroom.

Otherwise all good. Pity about the seagulls , too vocal at night! We did have to wash a lot of the tableware. Suspect previous user didn't rinse the plates etc under the tap before placing them in the dishwasher.

A couple of comments I would make: 1.

I would prefer the opportunity for half a happy face ie 4.5 for most categories as nothing in this world is perfect, but this listing was generally very good. 2. Any small issues that we encountered were dealt with promptly and efficiently by the young lady in the on-site Country Cottages office. (Rebecca, I believe) 3. When we arrived at Dartmouth House, most of the channels on the tv were pixelating. I have to wonder how long this had been the case and whether the issue had been previously addressed and not resolved. I don’t know but after several days fussing, the technical problem was put right. 4. The unit would definitely benefit from a better quality tv as neither the sound or the picture is particularly good. Unfortunately, some of us actually look to the tv for entertainment…sad but true!

Very clean and comfortable, with everything we needed for an enjoyable stay.

Found it really odd the way rubbish was not segregated into recyclables.

This resulted in the red bin being full to overflowing. Think most residents will be used to recycling. Also really odd that you assumed that everybody would use the dishwasher. We don't. Finally car park not secure but guess out of your control. Waste food deposited by my car was quickly removed after my request. Also just to mention that mattresses might need replacing. Brochure pictures didn’t do the apartment justice everything you needed was supplied and more .

Next time though I will take earplugs ready to use when the seagull night shift starts.

A couple of minor points : Missing a can opener.

And it would have been nice to have extra towels left for use during the week as there was no midweek housekeeping. The reception at Country and Coastal Properties was excellent. Very friendly and cheerful staff.

The apartment was throughly cleaned and as usual in excellent condition.

Underground parking was a real bonus, parking in the area would have been a nightmare otherwise.

Rather an unavoidably restricted kitchen space because of the design of the flat.

However, the lounge area is good, although furniture a little soft for us, and the wrap around corridor accommodating the bathroom and bedrooms works well.

We have stayed in Dartmouth House before, but not in this flat.

The flat was very comfortable, everything was provided. The television doesn't work properly, terrible signal. Needs to be sorted out but otherwise all fine. Thank you.

Good location for staying in Dartmouth.

Last minute decision to go away for a long weekend, so limited choice especially as it was Bank Holiday Probably not a place we would normally have chosen if we had planned ahead as we like a river view.

However, we liked the flat which was comfortable and spacious and had everything we needed. Parking space was an added bonus at this time of year. Your booking staff were really helpful and friendly as usual. Thank you

A clean apartment with parking and easy access to town

The location, parking on site, size and space of the apartment, cleanliness, facilities and the usual first class service from the ladies in the office.

What more could we ask for!! Excellent and we will be back next year.

Family bathroom - shower curtain required/water could be sprayed over floor even when adult was using the bath, no safety mats in either bathrooms. Microwave placed on top of f/freezer unsafe, as was crockery too highly placed.

High quality accommodation choice, lift, central location, parking.

The flat is very well looked after and having an underground car park is a great thing in Dartmouth.

Great flat in a top location.

Whilst the apartment was spacious, the second bedroom was a disappointment. The kitchen area (surfaces) too cluttered. Moved a sofa in order to take advantage of the sunshine. Lots of things on the floor,not been cleaned for some time makes me wonder what was under the other sofa and indeed the beds.

A great flat surprisingly spacious. Everything you need. Short on empty kitchen storage but a good excuse not to cook. Parking a real bonus. The access road to the parking can be tight to drive down due to others parking but I managed and easily got used to it. Would definitely book this property again.

Everything perfect except the very noisy seagulls!

I cant remember being advised that there was scaffolding up blurring the view somewhat. Apart from that the flat was spacious, clean and comfortable

Accommodation is superb - having the facility for parking is a huge plus point. We have stayed there 3 times and have a further 2 weeks booked for later this year. If there is a criticism it has to be the seagulls - they do not know the difference between night and day and if you are a light sleeper they can be very annoying.

Very well equipped flat. I was able to cook a full Christmas dinner for which the complementary wine was very welcome. it was even better that a jar of coffee and some milk had been left for our arrival, which was a lovely surprise after our long drive down. We were also very impressed with the fast broadband connection that enabled us to make full use of the freeview TV

Central Dartmouth location, M & S food store 200 paces away for all needs and morning paper. Underground parking clinched the deal! lQuality solid apartment with lovely views across the rooftops. Very high standard furnishings, 2 comfortable sofas, quality beds and bedding. Very efficient shower, easy to use. No sound from other flats.

Few minor things that can be sorted Found we could not work washing machine found instructions this did not help had to ask for help solved by kind coast and country staff. Found kitchen cluttered too many items in cupboards, had to move things around to get some space to put groceries in. Sink too small water was going all over worktop. Apartment was clean and tidy, nice comfortable bed, good TV spacious rooms. Central to town centre.

Excellent accommodation and location will definitely stay there again
