Absolutely beautiful property.

Very clean and well laid out. Was on holiday with my blind mum and severely autistic daughter so very pleased there aren't a lot of knick-nacks around. It's very spacious and well laid out which is perfect for us. Very easy to navigate for someone with impaired vision. The staff at the office were all very friendly and helpful. Wifi was on the blink a bit, but I was pre-warned about this and was sorted quickly and I was kept upto date about it regularly. Couldn't fault it. We'll hopefully be back next year!

..... The balcony terrace area was very dirty as was the door frame exiting to it. The lower area still had last year's dirt on it! The patio furniture was cheap and the table was broken to the point of not being a level surface that was fit or purpose The twin beds were mismatched (not identical twins) and one of them was in a poor state The shower mat in the ensuite was replaced immediately after its toxicity was pointed out The internet was not working - even after a new router had been installed Some of the furnishings were better than others A coat of paint would not go amiss Hopefully the owners will address these issues (no major capex needed - just attention to detail) as we would like to return next year to what is very nearly a perfect holiday rental

Very comfortable and well equiped apartment close to the marina.

Parking was a bit tricky.

Very comfortable flat in a stylish modern block.

Well appointed with excellent kitchen and good bathroom facilities. In situ underground parking is a bonus. A large terrace has a slightly restricted view of the harbour front, but lovely to sit out on nevertheless. Can be externally noisy due to the proximity to traffic and, of course, the ever present seabirds flocking but these are very minor points. It’s a small riverside town after all and must be expected. The town centre is only a minutes walk away and all you could want to see is right on the doorstep. It’s a lovely place for three or four people to stay for a few days. We’d love to go back.

Generally very happy with the accommodation.

There a few cosmetic jobs that would enhance the property. In the en-suite, the sealant around the shower tray needs replacing to remove the build up of mould in certain areas. Also on the base of the main shower screen there's a build up of mould. The tiles in the shower cubicle could also benefit from a deep clean. We have stayed in No 4 Dartmouth House many times and will hopefully return again. The location is excellent and the benefit of car parking is a big plus. The property has everything you need for a homely and comfortable stay.

4 Dartmouth House was very convenient to all local amenities, underground parking was good and apartment itself was clean, well equipped with balcony an added plus.

Only minor grumbles were broadband was extremely slow and barely working, it would be nice to have a television upgrade! But did not spoil enjoyment of holiday at this apartment and would book again.

Overall clean and comfortable and well equipped.

A few old fashioned pictures and ornaments. Around the plug hole in the ensuite it was black and so was a part of the bottom of the shower, all it needs is a clean with a small brush. The bin in the kitchen was black when we came to clean it upon leaving. There was plenty of plates and beakers but some of them were really old, with cracked and brown glazing which I would think no-one would use. The car parking space was incredibly tight and awkward to get into, so we didn't get the car out until we left. Hope these issues are useful to know but we had a super time and they were only miner issues.

Property was the perfect base for visiting Dartmouth and surrounding areas.

Living space was comfortable and cosy with a view of the dart, bedrooms were great with the bonus of 1 en-suite and a family bathroom which makes life easier with teenagers. Flat was clean and with parking added this was the ideal place to stay.

Second bedroom very small.

Suitable for 2 children or 1 adult. Property in ideal location very close to shops and the embankment. Would definitely book this apartment again.

The property was everything and more that Coast and Country promised it would be.

Their customer service and friendliness was 2nd to none. The flat was warm, clean, cosy and comfortable. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Coast and Country and their accommodation to family and friends in the future.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We were spending part of Christmas with my brother in the town. A very convenient location. Lovely views.Good to have parking. Quiet. The flat was spacious for the four of us. Very comfortable, well equipped and clean. I think we'll come again. Main negative was the key collection. If I hadn't phoned beforehand I wouldn't have been told about the collection being different on a sunday. Also had to wait about half an hour to speak to someone when I phoned Sykes. Not good en ough I'm afraid! Accommodation was excellent though.

4 Dartmouth House is ideally located to explore all that Dartmouth and surrounding area offers.

We found the accommodation had all we needed for an enjoyable week, not all of home comforts but not a problem. With car parking makes it ideal. This is our second stay here and have already booked again for next year.

This is our second visit to 4 Dartmouth House and we really do feel that it is a home from home.

Very cosy and comfy apartment in a great location. We hope to return again in the near future.

On arrival we were happy with 4 Dartmouth House.

We left our stuff and went food shopping. On return the kitchen and front room area was covered in ants. In the fridge, in the bread bin, around the wooden floor in the front room area. There were approx 50 in total. On closer inspection we found crumbs on the floor in the kitchen and the big rug in the front room. There was a bottle top under the kitchen island and bits of food on the draining board. There was a mug in the cupboard with a tea bag in and all the cups, plates, glasses and crockery were clearly dirty. We had to rewash everything we wanted to use. There is a dishwasher so could have easily been done by the cleaner. I contacted the local office where we collected the keys and they were really helpful, they gave us some ant killer and said they would get the apartment recleaned the next day. I had a call to say this had been done but there was no evidence of this and there were still crumbs in the kitchen and on the rug. We do not expect to come on holiday and have to clean before we eat. Previous reviews say that the cleaning standards had dropped but we didnt expect it to be this bad. The apartment is in a perfect location, parking is a bonus for regatta week and the 2 bathrooms were perfect for our group. Just very disappointed with the level of cleanliness.

The property had everything we needed.

It's location is ideal for access to Dartmouth shops and restaurants/takeaways. We would definitely recommend and will definitely come back in the future. Next time, we will come in the summer and make use of the balcony to dine. The secure parking is a big bonus which is accessed without going outside.

The property is a decent size, well laid out and appeared clean.

There was some dust evident on the skirtings and under furniture which doesn’t help people with allergies. It is in a good location so close to the shops and waterfront. The underground car park is a great facility.

The accommodation was first class and the flat was lovely and cosy. It made a super base in Dartmouth to celebrate my birthday.

Still a lovely apartment, was disappointed that the previous high level of cleanliness had dropped on this visit, bread crumps left on the work top, food left in the bottom of the oven, generally lacking attention to detail.

The apartment was well equipped, very cosy and in a great location. Would certainly book this apartment again when staying in Dartmouth.

The property had two well equipped bathrooms with very good shower facilities. The lounge / kitchen area was spacious and well equipped. The only way I believe the property could be enhanced is by having a larger screen television.

Because the garage door is broken, the door is fixed open. Consequently we didn't use the fob during our stay and overlooked including he fob with the keys that we returned to your office.. Wonderful stay.

Comfortable and clean. Perfect position in Dartmouth. The flat is all on one level so great for my dad that came with me. Plenty of hot water for showers and kitchen well equipped. Great parking spot too.

My sister & I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the property.

The beds were very comfortable and the accommodation was very near the town and amenities which was very handy. We were disappointed in the cleanliness of the property in that it was dusty in areas of the apartment which we reported to the Coast & Country Cottages offices on the second day of our stay. Also the patio had not been swept of leaves and the patio furniture was not clean. We also found a sock (not ours) underneath the radiator as you come in the front door which made us think that a thorough clean of the property had not been carried out. I was told by the person I spoke to on Tuesday that they would pass on my comments to the cleaning staff.

Perfect break in apartment 4.

There was everything we needed. One thing l would suggest though is on the bin gate fob you could put gate number and it was very stiff to open. Other than that perfect. Regards Helen Rayson

We had a wonderful time at 4 dart house.

The underground parking was a big factor in us choosing it as parking is not good in dartmouth. The apartment was perfect with the 2 bathrooms being an added bonus. The whole apartment was clean and comfortable and well equiped even though we ate out and didn't use the oven or microwave at all. The river side location was perfect. Will definitely be using it again.

Not the first time we have been to number 4 and won't be the last!

Just one thing - how do you work the microwave/!! Couldn't find the handbook and despite our best efforts, we couldn't get it to work!! Other than that, a nice stay in a nice apartment! See you next year!

This property was perfect for our needs.

It is central with easy access to shops and restaurants. The flat was clean, comfortable and well equipped and although the weather was not warm enough to use the balcony I am sure this would be nice in the summer. With two bedrooms and two bathrooms it was ideal for two friends travelling together.

our first time at Dartmouth and Dartmouth house,the flat that we stayed in [no 4] was lovely, clean, comfortable and smelt lovely on entering the property,we would have been happy to book it again but already taken,will definitely be back, the only thing missing was the sun, the staff at coastal cottages were very friendly and helpful, Thank you

Such a lovely property in a great location - yes the sofa needs updating as others have said - it’s really soft and hard to get up from

The property was well located,however a little dated,1 of the sofas needs replacing,the oven took ages to cook anything,the gutter was blocked above the patio area and it was pouring out onto the area when it rained,the windows possibly need replacing as the noise from outside was very loud whilst indoors with them closed,with a little modernisation the property would be spot on .

The hot water was very hot!

Having an allocated parking space in the garage was a great benefit.

As always, did it exactly what it said on the tin!

Property now more than ever needs some updating, the sofas and chairs are past their sell by date, grubby and uncomfortable plus the rugs are unsightly and a trip hazzard, the Bathrooms and bedrooms are very good, there were also 4 light bulbs not working which were the same ones from our previous visit in September, Coast and Country were very good in replacing them after I called in the office.

I stayed in this property 6 years ago with my late parents and nothing has changed!

I would suggest that a couple of new sofas would be a wise investment by the owners as the existing ones are very worn and extremely uncomfortable. Otherwise, a pleasant enjoyable stay

Lived up to expectations, the ensuite was a bit grubby, a small area, and some bulbs were out.

The whole process from booking onwards was seamless we were given all the information we needed from the get go. The only one point was the position of the rubbish store which took two goes from us to figure out the location ( could have been that extra glass of wine the night before ) Beautiful apartment would stay again for sure.

Close to centre. 100 yards from M & S. 200 yards from The George and Dragon restaurant/pub which was excellent. Nice base for visiting National Trust etc. Other nice resorts close by. Salcombe is lovely. Short walk to Coastal Cottages in case of any problems. Nice secure parking and entrance. Apartment well equipped and comfortable but could do with soap dish on shower wall and a grab bar. Those most handy for the elderly and infirm. Altogether the only downside was the weather but that could not be helped.

Like all the apartments in Dartmouth House that we have stayed in this was very good.

Property very well positioned within Dartmouth though becoming a little dated such as Sofa which has had it's day( possibly a support under the cushions would help) and lack of cutlery & badly stained crockery which the Coast & Country staff quickly sorted.

We enjoyed the apartment, but would have to agree with other comments in that the settee is low, maybe firmer seat cushions needed, and instructions on how to use the towel rails, but it did not stop us having an enjoyable stay.

This lovely, exceptionally clean flat is located in a great location and would love to return to the same accommodation again in the future.

Although no problem for us, there were minor maintenance issues which have been mentioned in previous feedbacks. It must be very difficult to attend to these if the flat is always booked. I would like to inform the owner that there is a gap in the guttering above the patio which is only noticeable when it rains and the double bed, which is comfortable, is becoming lumpy in places.

We love this apartment and have already booked again, the only things that could be improved are a larger television and the arm covers on the chairs and sofas being cleaned.

Overall this is a nice property which we will almost certainly revisit.

It had pretty much everything we needed. We did find that the sofas in the lounge were very low, particularly as we do not have the mobility that we did 10 years ago. One small point is that because the towel rail radiator in the bathroom is not connected to the central heating, it would be very useful to know how to turn it on. I searched but couldn't find the switch.

The location of the property in Dartmouth is excellent. Very clean on arrival. The property had everything we need for a relaxing holiday, all well maintained and in full working condition.

The property was OK overall.

The kitchen appliances were all to a good standard. However, the double mattress in the main bedroom was very soft and bouncy with a sag around the middle. It was hard to find a comfortable sleeping position and each morning I woke with a stiff back. I tried the single beds to see if they were any better but they were also very soft. They did sag a bit less though. Also, the heated towel rail in the shower room wasn't working so all towels needed to be dried on the towel rail in the other bathroom or on the clothes horse. The balcony area was quite dirty and shabby. We tried to clean it up a bit but it didn't look any better. I don't think the choice of slate floor tiling helps but think it may just be in an unfortunate position that attracts bits of leaves and other wind-borne rubbish.

Our first first night was spoilt by water pouring through the ceiling from the flat above as we prepared for bed.

Though not Sykes' or the owners fault it would have been nice to have received an apology or compensatory bottle of wine. Interestingly messages were left on my home phone 200 miles away! Maybe Sykes thought I could access my messages from home whilst away. The only apology came from the rep next day who called on us to explain how the problem would be fixed - she was very pleasant.

The quality of the bedding, towels and pots/pans/glasses was brilliant.

The only thing that let the apartment down was the state of the balcony. Not sure whose responsibility it is to maintain the pots, but there are weeds growing over a foot high in them. The picture shows a rather nice wooden bench and table, which has now been replaced with cheap plastic chairs. The tv isn't really big enough if there were 4 people using the apartment, I would get a bigger one and mount it on the wall, but that's only my suggestion. Overall everything was spotlessly clean and the service we received from Coast and Country was excellent.

The kitchen and bathroom have been well done. The main bedroom is a very good size. The flat is well situated for everything in Dartmouth and comes with a much needed car parking space. A note for people with disabilities or limited mobility, although this flat is on the ground floor, there are 9 steps up to the main front door, so access will be via the garage, as this has a slope and lift to get to the flat. There is also a small step out onto the balcony which may benefit by having a ramp fitted for those with restricted mobility. We would recommend this flat as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will happily book it again

Yes, The adverts for Dartmouth House Flats MUST include: 1.

ONE car only allowed to park underground, (I'm informed there have been occasions of two cars arriving. 2. Renter must park in the parking bay numbered the SAME as the flat. Failure to make this ABSOLUTELY clear on the booking form is causing a lot of anger amongst permanent residents. 3. A laminated notice IN the rental is TOO late

Furniture is uncomfortable and a bit grubby with age, television is small and picture is not great.

Have been twice now and always clean and tidy and would reccomended.

Accommodation very comfortable. Issues with the WIFI, never worked during our stay

There were chipped and stained mugs, marked plates and crazed crockery.

The crockery drawer didn't shut properly. The springs in one of the sofas seemed to have gone. There was inferior plastic mismatched furniture on the balcony - the table wasn't stable enough to eat up. The fitted sheet on the main bed was old and not big enough as it kept slipping off the mattress. The bedding was tired and one pillow cover was sweat marked. Another pillowcase has black marks on it. The inside of the shower tray in the ensuite had black mould on it. There was dust and cobwebs above the wall cabinet in the ensuite. The whole flat was 'tired' and certainly not up to the standard expected from the description and absolutely did not reflect the rental price.

Great property and location.

Thank you to the staff in the office, they couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. Just one little thing that would help is to provide black out curtains in the bedrooms, as woken every day between 4/5am when the sun started to rise.

This is a lovely apartment we have stayed here before and it comfortable and always spotless,we found the staff in the coast and country office in Dartmouth so friendly and extremely helpful could not fault our stay.

It was lovely to stay here again after holiday was postponed.

Cannot fault Coast & Country Cotts. for their hard work to ensure we had a safe stay. Apartment very clean and Covid safe. I suggest new mattress on beds as they are lumpy and the large sofa needs to be replaced as you sink right in! Also, the carpet in the master bedroom has a big stain. But we had a lovely stay and hope to return in the future.

The standard of cleanliness of the property was very disappointing.

The every day cleaning was fine e.g. work surfaces in the kitchen but the accommodation is desperately in need of a deep clean - there was a thick layer of dust in the corner of the armchair and behind the bedside tables. There were stains all over the bedroom carpet and the shower heads were thick with grime. The mattresses, pillows, cushions and duvet covers were extremely aged and in dire need of replacing.

Not your problem but access to the garage is a problem with people parking in the road

The television is too small for the apartment and if 4 people were staying instead of 2 they would struggle with the limited amount of crockery etc, there is certainly not enough to make using the dishwasher viable.

We always like to return to Dartmouth House as it'd so well located, has private parking and the properties are all excellent.

While there we went to the office wishing to extend our stay and were very well looked after. In the event we had to return home early and the girls in the office were very helpful and efficient. We were very well looked after financially as well. Please pass on our thanks to the owner of No. 12 for his very kind gesture. Many thanks for all the help we received in making our holiday so enjoyable.

A lovely apartment with the bonus of a lift and underground parking.

The kitchen area was well equipped with all the cooking essentials for a self catering holiday. The crockery could be replaced with a new modern set matching the quality of the kitchen itself. The duvet in the main bedroom needs replacing as the filling has disintegrated and the outside cover appeared to be stiff - like sleeping in a 'paper bag'. All in all we had a lovely time, very convenient to the town, tours and facilities and the weather could not have been better.

The apartment was well furnished and equipped.

However, it was beginning to look jaded and areas required redecoration. Whilst not needing TV, the advertised Sky and TV system was antiquated providing much less than a modern Freeview TV and was therefore misleading in the property advertisement. Whilst no fault of the owner or Sykes Cottages, there was repeated interference by one of the full time property residents (who claimed to be the caretaker!) when parking or moving cars in the underground garage. He approached myself and family members on a number of occasions demanding information on my rental arrangements and was eventually told to stay away from each of us. A less tolerant person may have reacted differently toward him. He should be firmly advised that as renters the car space is for their or their family members use and does not require either his permission or approval. Dartmouth house is well situated and I would be happy to recommend overall.

Great apartment, perfectly placed for exploring Dartmouth.

The Coat & Country office is right opposite the front door, which makes key collection simple, and the secure underground parking was a real bonus. The beds were comfortable and there's ample equipment for a home away from home. OK, it's showing its age just a little and some DIY is needed to get it right into shape, but...no major issues and it's very clean. It isn't the quitest place - there's some noise from the road nearby, and you're aware of some noise from other apartments - but it wasn't a major problem and didn't affect our enjoyment. We'd book again.

The property is in a very good position in Dartmouth, within easy distance of restaurants, shops and bars.

The property was clean but a little tired, we found the mattress very soft and uncomfortable and there was no mattress cover on the bed although there was on the single bed. Also the sofas were very soft and the crockery was mis-matched. Saying that we did have a good time and we thank the pleasant staff we met.

This is a good appartment but with nine out of eighteen appartments as holiday lets in the complex owners will have to start asking, ‘ what makes my appartment stand out from the others’?

Recent feedback sights the main bed as soft, I would concur, generally found it uncomfortable, others may not however. Better quality kitchen utensils might be considered. Wi If is now available to a good standard. Again there have been comments about the discrepancy between brochure and actual furniture on the patio. It is the owners right to put what ever furniture he/she wishes on the patio, but the misrepresentation in the brochure and web site is responsibility of Coast and Country. With prices suggesting a 20% increase in 2020, I repeat ‘ what will make this appartment stand out from the rest’?

The double bed could do with replacing, a few basic things in the kitchen such as salt & pepper, washing up liquid and oven gloves were not present and the outside balcony area is scruffy and nothing like shown in your information details, but other than that everything was fine and we will book again in the future.

Lovely Apartment in a great location.

Parking was good underground and the lift made life easy with our luggage. The double bed was uncomfortable and could do with a topper being put on or a new mattress. The footstool was missing from the lounge, would of made it more comfortable if that had been there. Loved the views from the balcony, we will definitely be back to Dartmouth.

Lovely apartment in a brilliant location.

We were fortunate enough to have lovely weather. Lots of lovely walks. Everything from bars restaurants and shops on the doorstep. Would definitely stay again.

Some minor items could do with looking at: Table mats that had dried on food splashes which needed more than a wipe to remove; a serving spoon with the kitchen cutlery would be very useful;an oven cloth and tea cosy seemed to be absent.

the TV colour was not very good: Sky was blue, yellow and black and the other (terrestrial?) was pale, not crisp. Some really interesting books which I would have loved to have had more time to read

Clean tidy ground floor, no noise and underground parking.

As described apart from view luckily I am tall, mismatch of kitchen equipment but all that you require, some noise from traffic but can live with that. Good location for river front, local amenities.

We love staying here. It is central, with secure parking, clean and well supplied. Only thing that would improve it is WiFi. Central position is great and Theatre/Cinema/Library just over 300 steps away, is perfect. I would happily live in this property full time!

We've stayed in several properties within Dartmouth House but this was the first time in Number 4. The property is conveniently situated in the heart of Dartmouth and with secure parking. The apartment was clean and well-equipped, although the second bedroom is only really big enough for one single bed. We would have liked a TV in the master bedroom as this is a luxury for us on holiday, but otherwise we were delighted with the accommodation.

The apartment was very comfortable. Just a couple of things that we feel would make it excellent. A bigger television and we didn’t have enough crockery to use the dishwasher. Apart from this it was a lovely cosy warm accommodation.

Lovely apartment, with my husband being disabled, it is so easy to access and he can drive/keep his portable disability scooter, right to the front door of the apartment.

The apartment is beautiful everything you need it is kept lovely and so comfortable and in an ideal spot .we have stayed in a different apartment in the same building but this was great it even has the added bonus of a balcony,would love to book this again next year.

This apartment was excellent. Close to the centre of Dartmouth/amenities with a M&S close by. The accommodation was both clean and spacious with secure gated parking and lift to all floors. It had a lovely balcony, bathroom and en-suite. Our only observation was that the TV could have been a larger and the noise from the main road in the main lounge could be a little distracting in high season. The balcony door really needs to be replaced with a new double glazed UPVC unit.

A warm, clean well equipped property. 4 stars instead of 5 due to the lack of broadband, and the lack of a list of which channels can actually been watched via the sky tv box.

Property in good condition clean and tidy.

Very nice apartment in a great location, it got a bit warm inside on the hot days and the main bed really could do with updating as it wasn't at all comfortable to sleep in. Other than that, at this price point, it was a great weeks stay in Dartmouth -thanks very much.

We were delighted with the secure parking, lift to all floors, two bathrooms, balcony, warmth, wonderful facilities. So good in fact, that we realised we could have moved from a larger property to live in this one. We have option to book for 2016 and have taken that up. Superb holiday in a wonderfuL setting with theatre, cinema, library across the road and river at the end of the street. Our 53rd Wedding Anniversary and dinner at The Castle Hotel added to make this a holiday to remember. Roll on next year!

No instructions for TV, heating, washing machine etc was. Beautiful homely apartment. Perfect for my 87 year old grandma and I. Lift was a great help and parking was wonderful!
