Description

Set in historic Warfleet overlooking the Creek, this famous Grade II listed building has been a paper mill, a bakery, an outstanding brewery and, most recently, the Dartmouth Pottery. Picturesque Dartmouth is only a 10-15 minute walk from the Pottery, with stunning views of the River Dart along the way, and, in the other direction, you're only a short distance from the Dartmouth Castle and tearooms.

This luxury first floor apartment is accessed from second floor landing of The Pottery building. This leads into the hallway of the apartment with access to all rooms, including a spacious open plan living, dining and kitchen area. This light and airy area boasts oak flooring and original stone features, and a living area with a large leather L shaped sofa. The dining area has a contemporary glass table and leather chairs, and the modern, well equipped kitchen area has beautiful granite work surfaces. There is an additional utility cupboard housing a washing machine and iron.

The luxurious master bedroom has a King-size bed and en suite shower room, whilst the second bedroom has twin beds (zip and link) that can be made to create one King-size bed. All duvets, pillows, bed linen and hand/bath towels are provided. In addition to the en suite is a luxurious family bathroom.

Adjacent to the property is a small communal seating area, or take a short walk down to picturesque Warfleet where you can enjoy ample benches with waterside views, a small beach and rock pools at low tide. Perfect for a relaxing break.

Minor niggles first: 1.

The toilets and sinks are on the small side (I'm sure the original designers of the development thought that they looked great but in practical terms I think the vast majority of visitors would prefer standard sizes) 2. The floor tiles in the main bathroom are looking a bit tired - most have cracks and/or chips. Nothing major but it does detract from the overall appearance. Main review: 1. There is a dedicated parking space for the apartment. Parking places are like gold-dust in Dartmouth so this is a big plus. We parked-up on arrival and left the car there for the whole week because ... 2. The apartment is nicely situated for walking to Dartmouth town centre or to the castle. 3. The apartment is well appointed with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, dining area, and lounge area. 4. The call-out maintenance people were very good - the sinks have rotating plugs and one of ours got stuck - somebody came to fix it on the day of the call. Overall, we really enjoyed staying here and would happily return even with the minor niggles mentioned (although, for the price charged, perhaps an end-of-season bathroom makeover might be in order ;-) )

We actually stayed at this property quite a while ago, it does feel now that it could do with an update.

Both bathrooms feels very worn down and the sofa and the cushions feel very old and over used. The duvet also in the one of the single beds was truly disgusting and was falling apart, where as the other single bed was perfect. But we did really enjoy our stay and the apartment over all was very clean. Was lovely to have utensils to use for cooking and loved having the coffee machine. In a fab location building and parking was easy and private and very clean. Would recommend!
