Excellent little spot!
Really liked it. Ideally suited for exploring the area but also being actually ON the river. Thought perhaps the corner would smell a bit at low tide given the debris that catches in the corner of the marina by the cottage, however it didn’t smell at all nor were there flies to worry about . Very happy with the kitchen facilities allowing us to cook properly for the six of us and the cottage still felt spacious despite all beds being full. We recommend it.
The setting is beautiful with stunning views of the river.
The en suite rooms are a huge asset. We very much appreciated the ‘welcome pack’ of food and wine, and flowers in the vase. Also the amount of local information provided was really good. Everything was clean except that the floors felt a bit gritty and the area beside the toaster was cobwebby and didn’t seem to have been cleaned in a while. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you.
Positioned on the Galmpton Creek within the Dolphin boatyard, this is very comfortable, well equipped property with ample space in a tranquil location.
There is a great bar/pizza restaurant a very short walk away and the more adventurous can walk to Agatha Christie’s summer getaway at Greenway (or a short drive of 9 minutes). Kingswear and the ferry to Dartmouth as well as the steam train to Paignton is a15 minute drive away while Brixham is even closer. We had a great, short break and would return to this property.
