  • "We had a 4 night stay here in this wonderful property."

The views are amazing especially from the living room area where you can sit and take it all in. The kitchen facilities were great, everything you need was available, and all in good condition. We were left fresh flowers, milk and a fresh lardy cake from the owners which was such a lovely thought. Plenty of towels were available and bed linen was all fresh and crisp. We walked down to Dawlish town a couple of times and had a lovely meal in the Brunswick Arms, food was great and staff were lovely. The walk back up the hill to the accommodation isn't for the faint hearted, it's very steep and very tiring but manageable if you take it slow. Overall we would definitely book this accommodation again but I would say it's definitely not appropriate for the elderly or children under 12 as the steps upto the property are steep and also the garden itself would be risky for younger children.

Delighted you enjoyed your stay and of course we'd love to have you back again! The walk up from the Centre certainly needs a few legs to it. It's the price for the views but hopefully they felt worth the hike. We do flag warnings in the description regarding the steep steps and ask that children are supervised. In providing oodles of photos we aim to provide a fairly representative perspective on the accommodation so no one's caught by surprise. Property Owner

  • "Lovely accommodation, with a great view, as it's high up in the town, and on a nice quiet street."

Great touch to have flowers on the table, milk in the fridge and some scones / cream & jam to have our own Devon cream tea, as soon as we wanted. The kitchen is well equipped and spacious, the garden is terraced and steep steps, but a great view from the summer house on the top deck. The road is narrow, but great to have the off road parking for 1-2 cars.

Thanks so much for your generous feedback. We loved having you - hopefully you'll think of Summerland again if you ever fancy another spell in Dawlish. Property Owner

  • "We've had an enjoyable week in this pleasant house."

Days begin and end just drinking in the view! Our favourite days out were taking the train to Exmouth - up the estuary and back again, a day in Exeter (not long enough) and the river cruise (the sea was too choppy for the coastal cruise). Dawlish has been it's ever lovely self (despite the very necessary drainage works). One of us caught the sunrise on Fir Tree Hill and took a long walk over Holcombe to Teignmouth and back. we're hoping to watch the moon rise over Holcombe Hill this evening. Thank you so much for the lovely wine and cream tea - very welcome.

  • "Hi all, Hope you have as lovely a stay as we did."

We have loved having a coffee while enjoying the beautiful view from the deck and hearing the seagulls in the mornings! Exeter and Torquay are a short drive away and if you are National Trust members A la Ronde in Exmouth is a must. We enjoyed a fabulous Thai meal at Sticky Rice just a 10 minute walk into Dawlish. For home cooking, the Co-Op met all our needs. Unfortunately we didn't get much beach time due to weather but we did manage a river cruise with Dawlish Boat Trips (only £7pp). Enjoy your stay!

Thanks so much for leaving feedback and for choosing to stay with us. Hopefully, weather & gulls permitting, we can entice you back in future for another stay Property Owner

  • "The house was absolutely beautiful, very clean, and well equipped."

The owners had clearly really thought out how best to make the stay as easy and enjoyable as possible - there were plastic boxes for picnics, games that were clearly new, and they had left milk in the fridge and a variety of goodies that made us feel very welcome. I had a few messages with the owners - just to say thank you and they could not have been more accommodating and responsive. It's an amazing view and a home with a really warm feel about it - to get that view though it's a steep and narrow drive - though the parking space is good!

This is such lovely feedback. Delighted you enjoyed your stay and thank you for the top tips you helpfully left future guests. We'd absolutely love to welcome you back in the future Property Owner
