It was good that the pub was too busy The take out in the garden watching the most spectacular sunset was so good we did it all again the next night There is no real reason to go off anywhere when you stay here

An excellent cottage with lovely views.

Very comfortable and clean with lots of space. The furniture and fittings were as new. On a cold March day it was tempting to stay in and not go out! The owner was very helpful.

The property ‘Lundy View’ is a converted barn and is beautifully located up a narrow Devon lane, located in an area of complete tranquility apart from bird song and the bleeting of lambs.

We were very warmly welcomed by Ann and Phil, who showed us around their upside down converted barn. The converted barn is on the owners land and they live in the farmhouse. There are two bedrooms a double which we think is a small double we have a five foot double at home and the bed felt smaller than ours. The bed was lovely and soft, and the pillows were deep and soft. The type of bed you lay your head on the pillows and fall into a deep comforting sleep, remembering nothing until you wake refreshed from slumber the next morning. The en-suite shower and bathroom had endless amounts of hot water, more than sufficient for a nice deep hot bath to relax and sip Prosecco while you think of your adventures of the day. The towels were all soft and fluffy, and of excellent quality. Upstairs is an open plan living, dining and kitchen area all very well laid out with the sofas well positioned to take in the views of the isle of Lundy across the hills. The property is extremely well equipped with fridge freezer, hob, oven, dishwasher and sufficient pots, pans, dishes and equipment to cook a full three or four course meal. We cooked breakfast everyday and dinner on three evenings. The dishwasher is of a slimline model and we found on the evenings we cooked a full meal we had to do two cycles as everything wouldn’t fit in on one. The property was immaculately presented and extremely clean, even behind the beds. The converted barn is semidetached to Hartland View, this one doesn’t have an en-suite but is also on Sykes website.There is a shared guest utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, but hey with the lovely open countryside Ann and Phil provide the use of a massive long washing line to hang the washing out to dry, we still chucked the towels in the tumble dryer for ten minutes to give them back their soft fluffy feel, I can’t stand cardboard towels. The property is located very close to The Tarka Trail in excellent walking country, take those poles and stride off all those Devon Cream Teas.. All in all a lovely converted barn with excellent hosts in a tranquil and peaceful area of Devon. Highly recommended..

Especially the tarka valley railway(puffin billy restaurant for breakfast) Dartington crystal just on the doorstep And a short car journey to the beach at Westwood Ho! We absolutely loved our stay at Lundy View cottage.

It was clean, very well stocked with everything we needed. It was warm and comfortable. We enjoyed the quiet and slept really well. Seeing the wildlife out the window was a bonus; a deer, rabbits, a cute weasel and the best a friendly pheasant called Tilly! Lastly the hosts were lovely and friendly. Definitely a place I would come back to.

The house was delightful.

Upside down living at its best. Lovely spot with rabbits , sheep, a partridge and hare to watch from the window. All facilities were clean. Good size fridge and freezer. Beds very comfy. Plenty of hot water, and easy to use showers.

We are two old dears with two bikes.

Nothing was too much trouble. We were allowed to leave our bikes in the garage and given a key for access. The cottage was spotless and the view fantastic. The weather was good too although I guess the owners can't take credit for that. Everything we needed was to hand and clear instructions left in the lounge. I am pleased to report that the 1000 piece motor vehicle jigsaw is intact with no missing pieces, although it did take rather a long time to do. Thank you for a wonderful week. Paul and Chris.

The property was in an ideal location for visiting North Devon.

The owners were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, their recommendations for places to dine were spot on, and the cottage was comfortable and outside space has good quality seating and parasol.

Lovely cottage very comfortable well equipped and in an ideal area for walking and cycling the Tarka trail.

The views from the front garden are stunning and on a clear day you can see Lundy Island.

As we are two friends in our mid/late seventies we felt that as neither the shower or bath had non slip services then nonslip mats should have been provided.

Also, I was unable to use the bath, as there was not a holding rail on either the bath or wall, with lower back problems I would have been unable to get out of the bath. A mirror in the twin room would have been a good facility and we didn't see either a fire extinguisher or fire blanket. But we enjoyed our stay and the facilities around the area. Many thanks We

A beautifully presented cottage in a quiet location with views of the surrounding countryside.

Its a good location for coastal walks and cycle rides - car was needed to access these. The owners are very friendly and helpful and happy to provide suggestions.

After settling into the property, Phil knocked at the door to give us a warm welcome and give us information about appliances.

The cottage has everything you require. Comfortable settees and beds, a cooker that’s easy to use with all utensils, nice bathrooms with hot water. The views are spectacular from watching the sheep in the field to the horizon some 20 miles away. If you require peace and quiet and just relax then this for you. Thank you Phil and Anne.

Superb cottage in every way.

One of the best. Only thing missing was a hair drier.

Lundy Cottage was in the perfect location for all that we wanted to visit in this part of North Devon.

The cottage had wonderful views that we could enjoy because of the upside down arrangement. We were able to prepare all the meals we wanted in the well equipped kitchen. The bedroom accommodation was comfortable and the en-suite and bathroom clean with plenty of hot water.

An absolutely beautiful cottage.

This cottage is absolutely stunning. The owners provided everything needed for a relaxing holiday. It was spotlessly clean, and the beds were comfortable. The cottage was more than I had hoped for and it truly is rural giving lots of peace and quiet. The views from the upside down living area give wonderful views across the countryside. It is perfectly located to travel, the beaches at Croyde or Woolacombe not to far away, and plenty of local walks too to see the stunning scenery. Every effort was made to ensure we had all we needed. I would recommend this cottage to all unreservedly.

The cottage is an upside down house and is absolutely beautiful.

The upstairs lounge, dining and kitchen is all one room. It gives you so much space. It’s situated in a quiet spot but has easy access to all the visitors attractions in that part of North Devon.

This Cottage was a credit to its owners having invested so much into the quality of this accommodation.

Every need was catered for which culminated in a high quality enhanced and relaxing holiday.

In glorious countryside and not far from a small town and within easy reach of the coast. The property was spotless and the owners were charming and helpful.. The cottage is semi detached so ideal if two families want to holiday together side by side. Would recommend this one.

We had the pleasure of staying for a week at Lundy View Cottage in mid May this year.

The cottage is located just north of Torrington and has wonderful views over gently rolling countryside with sheep and lambs in the field beyond the cottage. Lundy view is very clean and well appointed with everything you are likely to need together with many extras such as DVDs, books and games. The owners, Phil and Ann, are very friendly and helpful and added to the overall experience. Having rented out our property with Sykes for 3 seasons, until we moved in ourselves in March, we knew what we should expect and were not disappointed in any way.

Cottage was perfect and very lucky to find it for a short last minute break.

This cottage is situated in the heart of the North Devon countryside.

Located on a single track lane a few miles outside Torrington this upside down accommodation has beautiful views over the surrounding fields and hills but is only a short drive from key points of interest with Bideford, Instow, Appledore, Barnstaple, Ilfracombe and the beaches of Staunton, Croyde, Woolacombe etc. within easy driving distance. Ideal for a quiet, relaxing break. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and maintained to a high standard. Very comfortable. It would have benefitted from handgrips in the bathroom as the shower was positioned over a wide, deep bath which would be challenging for the less agile. The water was slow to drain so it was quite slippy when trying to step out of the bath. Some decent hangers in the wardrobes rather than the limited number of mismatched plastic ones would also be good. If you are looking for a tranquil stay in a quiet and peaceful location this is the place for you.

We received a very warm welcome from the owners and nothing was too much trouble.

The cottage was beautiful finished to a very high standard, everything we needed was there. Which is not always the case? They have paid great attention to detail and it shows. With the living accommodation on the first floor the views are stunning with fantastic sun sets who could ask for more. We had a fantastic week. Thank you.

Lundy View at Higher Darracott Farm is a well-equipped and comfortable cottage with beautiful views.

It is peaceful and quiet being 2.5 miles from Torrington. The owners, Phil and Anne are cheerful and helpful. I would highly recommend this cottage as a base for exploring North Devon, or just to relax in the gentle countryside.

It was a lovely cottage

the houses and surroundings were excellent, a short drive to Great Torrington which is a lovely little market town.

a must see is Rosemoor gardens again about a 10min drive you can spend most of the day walking around these wonderful gardens. owner was a very nice man very helpful. only thing i would say is that the name of the houses misleads you into thinking you can see lundy island well you cant .

The hosts were friendly and made our stay very good. On arrival the cream tea which had been left was a very nice touch. There is easy access to all attractions in North Devon.

A most attractive holiday cottage, very well furnished with top of the range kitchen equipment, lighting, heating etc.

Everything spotless and in perfect working order. Lovely quiet situation-needs a bit of finding!, Very helpful owner living on site, nothing too much trouble, homebaked scones and cream tea on arrival!, central heating on all the time, hot water ditto. A good position to get to the north coast of Devon and Dartmoor and the south coast is only a half hour drive away. The factory and shop of Dartington glassware is on the way down to Torrington, just 10 minutes away. the only reason for saying that we would not choose to rebook is that we always plan to visit a different area but we have recommended it to family and friends.
