  • "Had a lovely stay at CS Lewis apartment."

Good facilities and extremely relaxing looking out over the bay either on the balcony or in the lounge. Lots of lovely walks in the area. Overall a most enjoyable week. Would recommend to anyone.

  • "Only observation that was negative."

Outside approach and back of property was scruffy and neglected. Dead plants in pots in main foyer. The flat was lovely with great views.

  • "The holiday flat was lovely and clean with very comfortable beds."

The view from the balcony was absolutely incredible & exceeded expectations. Wonderfully situated near the centre of Lynton with everything 5 minutes walk away but the flat itself was so quiet. Parking right outside a real bonus.

  • "Nothing went wrong."

Loved the apartment as was visiting my brother with my elderly parents as my brother lived just two minutes away from this apartment. Just a few things I thought could be better. As my parents are elderly they get very cold, unfortunatly the heating could not be altered it was locked and didnt come on until 9.30pm. There wasnt hardly any toilet roll in either bathroom and no spare roll (a bit tight I thought). My brother and his wife came to our apartment for a drink, the wine glasses were just an odd set nothing matched. No toiletries except a tiny soap in the bathroom. I enjoyed the stay but for the money didnt feel it quite that special mark.

  • "The views are amazing from this apartment."

We sat outside on the balcony for breakfast on several occasions and also enjoyed a glass of wine out there in the evening. It is very relaxing to just sit and enjoy the view. The beds are extremely comfortable and to be able to lay in bed and enjoy the view was lovely. The kitchen was very well equipped and both bathrooms were superb. A very small niggle would be on the odd occasion we had the tv on we found it was too high on the wall to sit comfortably and watch (this didn't affect our overall enjoyment in any way!). The apartment is in a great location to explore the local area. We enjoyed a daily walk to Lynmouth, a visit to the Valley of Rocks, the Watersmeet walk, as well as a longer walk to Hunters Inn and back (highly recommend this walk, the scenery and views were some of the best we have seen). We ate out at several different venues and we would definitely recommend a visit to The Crown where the staff were brilliant, especially Mark who was very friendly and gave us valuable advice on the local area.

  • "View fantastic."

Sofa's very uncomfortable, and in the wrong position. Tricky getting out onto the balcony (through a small window?). No where to store food in the kitchen or toiletries in the bathrooms.

  • "Steep steps from entrance to building up to the apartment and some steps within the apartment might cause problems for those with reduced mobility."

Only minor problems - there was no full length mirror and the ironing board was broken but we have no hesitation in recommending the property. Lovely walks along the coastal path to the Valley of the Rocks.

  • "The apartment was very comfortable and clean on arrival."

Plenty of storage for luggage etc. Bed linen was very clean and good quality. Mattress gave a restful night's sleep. The settees/couches were a bit on the low back side and not particularly comfortable. Access to the balcony is a little bit awkward but can appreciate that this is worked around planning issues to maintain the property's exterior. Shower and bathroom facilities are outstanding. Note that the second bedroom has more stairs to access it and it does not have the same view. Facilities within the village were somewhat muted due to Covid. CS Lewis balcony apartment has magnificent views of the village below and the cliffs on the opposite side of the bay. A lovely relaxing visit for us both.

Would not recommend it for anyone who has difficulty with stairs.

It was super comfortable, the view was incredible and we feel so lucky to have stayed there and had a wonderful week. Highly recommend.

  • "Lovely apartment, not suitable for anybody with mobility issues."

Beautiful views across the bay Could have done with a dressing table in the upstairs bedroom. In terms of covid procedures, we felt 9am was very early to vacate the property, especially given that you had to strip all the beds and clean as well and 5pm a bit late to get in after a long drive . Other than that we had a lovely holiday and would return another time

  • "We stayed at the Lewis balcony apartment and it exceeded all my expectations."

We stayed during the Corona virus lockdown and the kitchen in the apartment had everything we needed in order to cook and eat as all the food outlets were closed due to the lockdown. The views from the balcony was amazing. It was the perfect holiday home.

  • "We aren't sure if the apartment was empty for a few weeks before our arrival."

The bed linen, pillow and towels smelt very musty and didn't seem fresh. We couldn't find the apartment as we were looking for C S Lewis apartment and not Lynton cottages. We had to put up with a leak in the kitchen from the roof. We had to spend the week walking around a bucket.

  • "The apartment was beautiful but in the listing it didn’t mention anywhere that there were lots of stairs, and the view we booked for was fantastic - the only problem was to get out on the balcony we had to climb out of the window!"

Which again was not stated and as my wife is disabled it spoilt things for her.

  • "I am always sceptical about owners descriptions, but this one was definitely under sold."

Great apartment and comfy king size beds, large bathrooms, comfy family room with picturesque panoramic views. The local area is quiet and slow paced, and plentiful. Some hidden treasures such as the toy museum, gorge walk and the Victorian railway give the added extra. The usual seaside town shops, eateries are accompanied by art, craft and local produce establishments. We will return

  • "Beautiful place and stunning location."

Rooms are spacious. A bit of a nuisance that there’s nowhere in either bathroom to put anything down except one the floor, and no tray or shelf in showers for gel, shampoo etc. One gripe is that I had to wash all the towels because they had an unpleasant smell- dirty laundry smell- like they hadn’t been left to dry properly - so spent one morning going back and forth between apartment and tumble dryer (other guests were using it at times). We very much enjoyed our stay nonetheless and especially the panoramic views.

  • "The C S Lewis Balcony Duplex apartment was great, spacious, well equipped and had a view to die for."

Lovely big King size plus bed, fluffy towels plus a Fridge freezer in kitchen it does not get much better than this. We were so well situated for town of Lynton and also to explore surrounding area. Free parking so no worry about getting a space in road. At night sat on balcony and watched House Martins come home to roost. So quiet and peaceful no noise at all at night. Amazing free standing bath was a pleasure but a bit slow to drain away, small niggle. Loads of crockery and utensils in kitchen. Provided with washing up liquid and dishcloths and Tea towel brilliant. Would really recommend this wonderful apartment it made the holiday very special. Lynton has great restaurants real food paradise and walk up hill in morning to Picnic box for best baguettes ever.

The apartment is well equipped with quality furniture and linen. The views from the balcony across the Bristol Channel is stunning Lynton itself is quite quiet with a nice range of shops. Lynmouth at the foot of the cliff is a busier resort and can be accessed via the Funicular railway
