The cottage is very comfortable, peaceful, relaxing and very well equipped. There was a homemade Lemon Drizzle cake for us on our arrival which was delicious. The owners are fantastic and were exceptionally helpful. Can't wait for our next holiday there.

  • "Great cottage on a lovely working farm!"

Cottage itself very comfortable, roomy, clean and with everything in it you'd need. Our hosts Jayne and Rowan were very welcoming and friendly and we had the entire run of the farm as well, dogs loved it and lots of animals for children to see. Great location as well, 10-15min from beaches and lots of other activities. Highly recommended, we will be back!

Our dog was also made very welcome. The views were fantastic, it was lovely to have access to the farm with the opportunity to meet the animals. The location is good with easy access to the coast and surrounding countryside. We were very lucky with glorious weather but even in cooler weather the cottage would be lovely. We certainly hope to return. Thanks to Jayne ,Rowan and family .

  • "Lovely house in a great location, with an owner on site who was super friendly and helpful."

It was the perfect area to explore beaches, hillside walks and take in the beauty of Devon and nearby Dorset. Only point to improve is the lighting in the bathroom was very dim and needs an upgrade but apart from this would definitely recommend.

unfortunately we found the cottage to be tired in terms of decoration, except for kitchen which was modern. downstairs living area very dusty, lots of dog hair on furniture and some very odd looking stains. cobwebs everywhere (I know it’s middle of the country side) but these were old as well as new. found dirty crockery and cutlery in kitchen. bathrooms dimly lit and very basic , one toilet could only be flushed every couple of hours as it took so long to fill ?? twin bedroom ... well dark and dingy and the curtains , like to old sacks used, didn’t meet in the middle and let in light in the morning, used two towels to block the light. all in all very disappointing!!!!

  • "The cottage was brilliant in every way."

Comfortable, open and excellent facilities. Downstairs just large area, open plan with alcoves to keep bags and boots etc and hooks for your coats. The kitchen had everything and more, light and airy. We had our family over on one day for the day and the cottage just accommodated us all . We had our dogs with us and the cottage was great as walking from the cottage their were many wonderful walks with amazing panoramic views. Beautiful long table with plenty of seating. Pretty outside terrace with table etc. Facing south with beautiful views down across the valley. A very pretty area and cottage, we didn't want to venture far as it was so peaceful and lovely on the farm. Jayne left a great blueberry and lemon cake. Jayne and Rowan are a lovely couple and very welcoming to their wonderful farm. This was a last minute break to de stress and it most certainly did this and more. We would highly recommend the cottage and hopefully we will return.

About the location

HONITON

Ottery St Mary 6 miles; Lyme Regis 14.5 miles; Exeter 22 miles.

Honiton is a delightful market town in East Devon, with plenty to offer visitors. It lies in the valley of the River Otter and is surrounded by rolling Devon hills, green wooded valleys and plenty of scattered farming villages. Honiton has an attractive High Street stretching almost 2 miles, and lined with individually owned shops, pubs and restaurants. Honiton has been famous for lacemaking since the reign of Elizabeth I and still has a few lacemakers in work today - visitors can see some fine examples of antique lace in the town’s Allhallows Museum. Honiton boasts the only public art gallery in East Devon; the Thelma Hulbert Gallery occupies an attractive Grade I listed Victorian house, and has links with the Hayward Gallery, London. Honiton is only a short drive from the dramatic 20 mile stretch of Jurassic Coast, England’s first natural World Heritage Site. Resorts such as Seaton, Budleigh Salterton and Sidmouth are found along this stretch of coastline, and all have much to occupy the visitor. Near to Honiton is the cathedral city of Exeter with plenty of large shops, a wealth of museums, a theatre and fabulous restaurants.
