The Cart House is a superbly renovated and styled barn conversion with a shared hot tub and meadow garden, set just outside Liskeard, 12 miles from Looe resort with a boarding kennels and cattery tucked away onsite.
The semi-detached homestay offers reverse level accommodation over two floors with two bedrooms and two en-suite shower rooms and sleeps four guests.
From the external iron staircase, enter into the open plan living room on the first floor with apex beams, wooden floors, comfy sofas, unique dining table and smart kitchen.
The interior throughout is a fabulous fusion of character and contemporary comfort with mood lighting options and quirky artwork.
Triple aspect views offer green landscapes over the hills and owners’ own garden.
On the ground floor, the two bedrooms boast pristine en-suite shower rooms.
At the front of the property is a little patio area for relaxation, and the meadow at the rear is a generous space with luxury hot tub, lawn for ball games and picnics, and benches for blue-sky dining, barbecue and undercover bar, plus ample off-road parking to the side.
The Cart House sits in the grounds of the owners own home down a country lane, and their kennels boarding business is tucked away.
Coastal attractions are reached within a 30 minute drive.
Harbourside Looe with long stretch of sandy beach and galleries, fish and chip shop and eateries galore will beckon for waterside adventures.
Polperro, the picturesque fishing village and fabulous Fowey are much-loved destinations for boating activities, super restaurants, inns and galleries.
Walk the south west coastal path promising scenic seascapes, pretty villages and good Cornish beer along the way!
Liskeard is a short drive away for shops and provisions.
Discover the rugged landscape of Bodmin Moor, visit the Monkey Sanctuary or head to the sea for a boat trip or day at the beach.

All 4 of us had a lovely stay .
The owner had thought carefully of things needed . We didn’t try the hot tub as were out all days making the most of. It was very peaceful . Fab location tucked away in a quiet rural location , yet only about a ten minute drive to train station in Liskeard . Liskeard station seems a great hub to pick up a train to explore . The trains seem very fairly priced too . We hope to be back ! Thankyou !
One of the best properties we have stayed at regarding location and quality of the building and fittings.
We made use of the hot tub one evening and also the EV charging point. Whilst it is close to the kennels and the A38 there was no noise or disturbance from the dogs or traffic. Being an upside down house the bedrooms were nice and cool and the upstairs was a very comfortable temperature in the open plan kitchen and living area. We would certainly recommend this as a nice place to base yourself for touring Cornwall.

Well provided. Lots of gadgets...especially very welcome ceiling fan. Great to have downstairs bedrooms in this heat! Convenient location. Our only difficulty was the comfort of the beds for my husband. I was fine, but he is tall and they were very low.

Very friendly people. Cottage is very cosy and comfortable. It has everything in you need. The properly is beautiful and so are the surroundings. We stayed there from 23rd-30th December. The cottage was decorated lovely for Christmas. We will definitely be returning in the future.
We booked both cottages for our family after a previous visit.
Both cottages were delightful, clean, great location and had everything we needed and more. As we had booked both we had the full garden area including hammocks, hot tub and bar area etc to ourselves. The space is really safe for children of which we had a young 1.5 year old with us who loved being free. When we next visit Cornwall this will be the first place we try to book. Thank you Matt and Dan for your hospitality.

The Cart House had everything we needed to ensure a relaxing & peaceful stay. The hot tub was a lovely addition and overlooked the sprawling Cornish countryside - a view you could never tire of! Our host, Matt, was an amazing guy & was so accommodating and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. If we visited this area of Cornwall again, the Cart House would be where we'd chose to stay.

Fabulous stay at The Cart House !
A lovely character property in its own right and even better when used with the similarly sized neighbouring property, allowing friends / family (two families of four in our case) to holiday together whilst having their own space and enjoying excellent facilities. The owner Matt is a great guy, very friendly and helpful. Would thoroughly recommend staying here and I’m sure we’ll be back ourselves - thanks Matt for a great stay.
This cottage was absolutely beautiful, it contained everything necessary plus more!
Matt had thought of everything, always available if anything needed. Resident cats were very welcoming, little Sausage was a real little character. The cottage was situated in a great location, you felt like you were in the middle of nowhere but in fact you were central to everywhere. Hope to return in the future. Thankyou for a perfect getaway.
Prior to setting off spoke with Matt, who confirmed directions for how to find them.
Lovely warm welcome on arrival and manage to get in early, which was appreciated. Although a little off the beaten track it is a super location and a beautiful accommodation, with outdoor space and friendly kitties!! Well equipped and ultra modern facilities included, hot tub not utilised by us (weather!) but lovely setting. Easy to get about from this location, 30mins drive in all directions you will find something that will entertain all tastes. Thanks Matt and family for having us, great week of relaxation and exploring.

The venue was stunning and the extra touches and facilities made it extra special. The host Matt was very accommodating and was on hand most of the time. The photographs on the website do not do justice to how lovely the surroundings are. I would definitely recommend this cottage and go back again.

Excellent accommodation, well planned and fitted out and in a good, quiet location.
The owner, Matt, welcomed us on arrival and was very helpful during our stay. Overall very comfortable but the second bedroom is a bit cramped for adults and has no hanging space. Outdoor barbecue / play area / hot tub not used but a great idea for families.

The Cart House is a top rate accommodation, all facilities needed for a comfortable stay.
Matt and his brother Dan have done an excellent conversation of two dilapidated barns to a very high standard, nothing was to much trouble. Situated in the countryside for a peaceful stay. The accommodation is situated less than 5 minutes from the A38 and less than 10 minutes from Liskeard for local supermarkets. Ideally situated for places like Looe, Polperro, Mevigissey, Newquay, all within 3/4 hour and Truro and Falmouth within 1-1/2 hr Some lovely places to eat in all mentioned above and also a lovely pub in st Neot the London Inn, well recommended about 15 minutes away. We would like wish Matt and Dan all the very best and we are sure to return in the future.
We recently spent a week at the Cart House.
It is a fantastic barn conversion in a countryside location and really does look as good in real life as it does in the photographs. Matt is a great host, with plenty of helpful local advice. Brother Dan has fitted and repurposed some brilliant retro-phone tech to satisfy your inner geek. Matt also showed us around their neighbouring property Elvan Cottage (Ref. 976855) which is finished to an equally high standard. We would have no hesitation in booking either property again in the future.
I spent another week for the fourth time at both cottages.
They are just so relaxing and the family and the cats are all friendly. What an amazing holiday

Excellent cottage ,friendly host , great location
The Cart House is well situated to explore the surrounding area being so close to the A38, but still in a very rural location.
The upside down nature of accommodation lends itself so well to the property in terms of views and the bedrooms being cool which is of considerable benefit when sleeping in hot weather. All facilities you could ever want are provided, supplemented by quirky tech and made all the more pleasurable by the owners. Thanks in particular to Matt and his assistant sausage …the cat.

Matt and the team were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Plenty to do in the surrounding areas and a few visits from Sausage the cat kept us busy! Will be looking to rebook again very soon!

A lovely barn conversion , emaculate finish , very comfortable , equipped with everything that you would need & more , mod cons & great quirky touches inside & round the grounds .
Matt a great host met us on arrival showed us where everything was , milk , juice , vase of flowers on arrival " nice touch ", Matt was very helpful for any info directions etc , brother Dan helped out with some tools for broken light on car . Met Dad who stopped to have a chat & not forgetting Sausage the cat a regular visitor. The orchard was an added bonus nice & peaceful , hot tub was spot on hot & clean we managed to get a bbq in on our last day . Location is remote peaceful only a few minutes drive from main roads is ideal & pretty central for getting out & about . Had a great week , would definitely go back to the Carthouse & would recommend Thank you to Matt for phoning us to let us know we had left something behind !! Big Thanks & all the best Matt & Dan . Amazing property with beautiful views and absolutely everything you could need in self-catering accommodation.
Hot tub was a nice touch and kept clean and as hygienic as possible throughout the week as a shared facility. Owners Matt and Dan were very helpful and friendly! Their cats Dom and Sausage were even more so coming for sleepovers on several of the nights and popping in for the occasional fuss- lovely, furry friends. The house in is a great location for people wanting to explore the local area; during the week we visited: Adrenaline Quarry (great for the dare devils), Carnglaze Caves (beautiful underground experience), Truro Farmers Market (a little further out, around 50 minutes but a nice shopping day), Looe Bay (amazing pasties, fish and chips at Kelly’s and a lovely soft sand beach) and 2 local supermarkets to get supplies for the week (Morrisons and Aldi). We may very well be returning in the future!
Good central location.
Very helpful and friendly introduction by Matt and his Brother. The grounds are well kept with great views over the fields and woods. The cottage itself was immaculate and well presented, it is spacious with a fabulous kitchen. The beds could be more comfortable but I accept it comes down to individual requirements. The welcome pack was basic and a few additions would be generally well received. I would definitely recommend and return.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at The Cart House but we did have a few issues.
The main one being mould growing on the blinds in the bedrooms. The smaller bedroom smelt damp which wasn’t nice. We also had to share the one wardrobe between four adults. Showers were good though. The cottage was in a great position to visit the both the north and south coasts.
Matt and Dan were excellent hosts.
The property was everything you could wish for with amazing gadgets that kept us amused. Had it's own telephone exchange, Hot Tub, Bar and Bar-B-Q. It was immaculate, clean and comfortable. Great location, easy to get to the south or north coasts. Would definitely recommend.

Loved the area and the hot tub!! Partner loved being able to see how phones work too! My only regret was not taking a run and jump and what looked like a rope swing haha I passed it every day and every day told the partner I was gunna do it ahh well maybe next time
An excellent choice for a reasonably priced cottage with all modern facilities.
Spacious rooms comfortable chairs and beds ,large tv and tv’s in both bedrooms. Heating is excellent. We are already in the process of re booking.

The Cart House was so special for New Year and we really enjoyed our stay. Matt was a lovely host and had everything prepared, finding a bottle of fresh milk at our door step on our first morning was a really lovely touch. Great facilities especially the kitchen which was perfect for cooking. The bedrooms were a great size and super comfy. A great location that was peaceful but also easy to then explore the area. Only a couple of small suggestions, I would have liked a full length mirror or better dressing table style mirror in the main bedroom. The hot tub was such a treat and we enjoyed it our first night but the second time we went to use it, it was very cold and too late to speak to our host which was a little disappointing. We’d absolutely go back again, such a wonderful place! Thank you for our stay.
Brilliant cottage.
No expense spared on this conversion. It has everything you could need. Surround sound Bluetooth system. Tvs in both bedrooms. Hot tub in the garden with a cool outdoor bar. Changing area and other seating also. If you are bored one night try the phone system with the codes you get some fun results! Would definitely recommend the cart house and hope to return soon
Had a fabulous week here celebrating my mums 90th.
Matt & Dan were friendly & more than helpful nothing was too much trouble. The cottage was well equipped and we needed nothing . The hot tub was amazing, will definitely be recommending The Carthouse to friends & family and hopefully returning there soon.

Meet by Matt at the cottage, very thorough introduction of the facilities and the running of the cottage, cottage was very well furnished with everything we needed, hot tub was well used, Matt checked if we needed anything and that everything was ok whenever we saw him.

This Holiday home was just perfect.
The location was amazing. The interior was stylish and well equipped. Beds comfy and outdoor space was an added bonus. It felt cosy and that's always a nice feeling. The owners were welcoming and friendly. I recommend taking time out to lie in the hammock and take it in. The jacuzzi was needed and appreciated at the end of a busy day exploring Looe, Polperro, Fowey, St Ives etc..... as this property is located perfectly to pop to all these harbours or inland villages. We shall definitely be returning in the future.

When we booked we had a few queries which were answered very promptly and we cannot fault Beth who took our booking. The property itself was amazing and the hosts Matt and Dan were exceptional in making sure everything was perfect. The attention to detail was incredible, well and truly exceeded our expectations. We had one of the best Christmases away ever. We will definately be booking again with Sykes Holiday Cottages and plan to return to the Cart House again. Thank you for a very happy experience.

All the essentials, dishwasher was a nice touch. Master bedroom great size. Second bedroom has ground floor access as well, which was useful for couple with a baby. Hot tub great and outdoor bar well stocked.
We were greeted by Matt and instantly made most welcome.
Matt took us for a tour of the property and explained how gadgets worked . The whole experience was fabulous and the hot tub just topped it off . Have already booked to go again in February/March next year . Close to so many beautiful areas ,it was a delight . Thank you for recommending the Carthouse .Cherry and Paul .
The cart house is a lovely renovation and credit to Matt and Dan for all the little touches , the hot tub and bar area is perfectly set out , en suite for both bedrooms are perfect, don't be put off by the kennels near by as you don't hear anything.

The hot tub, bar and bbq area is amazing - a great way to end the day. The best cottage we have ever stayed at and the friendliest, most welcoming hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Centrally located for everything Cornwall. We loved it so much we will be back next year. Don’t miss out, try it for yourselves, you won’t regret it.

the Cart House is beautiful, everything has been done very well, and has everything you need . Great gadgets including Surround Sound, Smart TV, lovely lighting. Excellent quailty, beautiful setting. The Cart House is the most magnificent place to stay.
You couldn't wish for better accommodation or better hosts. A lovely welcome on arrival with a milk and orange juice in the fridge and tea and coffee provided. The barn conversion is really clean and modern with bluetooth speakers installed, Smart TV's in each room and other little quirky gadgets which is just great. Everything you would need is provided. A laundry room is available with washing machine and tumble dryer. All towels, tea towels and bedding are provided as is fully equipped kitchen with every pan and utensil you would need plus a Tassimo coffee machine! The Orchard containing the hot tub is just a dream, it has it's own private little bar and the scenery around you is fantastic. Some people may be put off by the fact there is a kennels and cattery on site - don't be. The animals didn't disturb us at all - we didn't really know they were there to be honest. A massive thank you to Matt and his family for making us feel so welcome. We will be back! :-)
