Description

This is a first and second floor apartment, one of two in a detached house in trees beside the river ¾ mile from the centre of Newton Ferrers.

Along a pretty and bumpy no through road, it is an idyllic spot for relaxation and enjoying the scenery.

From the shared garden path, head into the entrance hall where you can make sweet music on the piano.

From here, stairs take you up to the roomy open plan living space where you can watch the smart TV or gaze over the river view whilst you eat at the table.

On fine days, open the glass door to the balcony where the water shines through the oak trees.

You will find two of your bedrooms on this floor, or head up to the next level and two more bedrooms under the eaves with little glimpses of the river.

On this upper level is a lovely quiet sitting room for reading or watching TV.

Head outside to your enclosed terrace at the back where you can fire up the barbecue and eat alfresco.

This is great walking country, with the National Trust woods on the doorstep or the Coast Path for admiring dramatic scenery and strolling the historic Lord Revelstoke’s carriage drive.

Sit out at a riverside inn in Newton Ferrers or Noss Mayo to watch the life on the river.

For more activity, try paddleboarding or wakeboarding, with equipment available to hire, hire a boat which you can moor outside the apartment, play tennis or go riding.

Mothecombe is a fabulous beach which stars in lots of movies, including Sense and Sensibility.

Galanda Treetops is aptly named, a scenic location with leafy loveliness.

Great location, challeng steps as mentioned.

Good price, could do with an update but still very comfortable. We enjoyed our stay.

We loved staying at Galanda, Sarah was the perfect hostess and the house is the only one we’ve stayed in that I can say was fully kitted out, it had everything we could ever need, sharp knives and even a bread maker!

And there were lots and f empty cupboards in the kitchen to put our groceries in, which was perfect. Two living rooms was a god send with 2 teens and 21 year old. All the bedrooms were spacious with plenty of wardrobe or cupboard space and the bathrooms were roomy with good showers. There is plenty of parking for 3 cars, I have a vw sharan 7 seater with virtually no turning circle but I was able to get out albeit with a lot of backwards and forwards, patience is a virtue! Beautiful spot with the balcony over looking the river, we spent a lot of time watching the boats. Very relaxing, with some lovely if a bit hilly walks near by too. One shop in the village which supplied everything we needed, and The Dolphin Pub which served decent food and made everyone welcome. I would definitely go back again, couldn’t have been happier there.

Sarah, our host, made us feel really welcome throughout our holiday.

We arrived to a fresh vase of flowers, milk and biscuits. The property was clean and spacious and the location along the riverside would be hard to beat. I particularly enjoyed sitting on the balcony and looking out over the river. It was also great to be able to launch our kayak from the owners quayside. The kitchen was well equipped and we used the disposable bbqs provided outside a couple of times. The property was absolutely perfect for our party of 6 adults and a 5 month old baby, although some aspects of the property were a little dated, especially the downstairs bathroom. Having said that, the positives far outweighed the negatives and we would definitely go again.
