  • "Stopped at Pier View many times now, it’s comfortable, clean, home from home, off road parking a big plus."

    Pier view is in a great location for visiting whole of Torbay which is in easy reach. Very big bonus for us is the garden for us as well as our dog Tyson, Sitting out with a coffee in the morning and after a long day out just sit an chill with a glass of wine. All in all a fabulous place to stay, can’t recommend enough, hopefully we will be back soon.

    Welcoming and equipped for any situation…even the work surfaces were low enough for my elderly mom to reach the sink and kettle…which was a bonus for her..and the outside space was great too..overall we can’t fault the property…and the welcoming gift on our arrival was super unexpected…the property is also in a great place as a base to explore Devon…just wonderful…thank you….xx

    Easily accommodates four and perfect for the dog (GSD). Even the uncarpeted areas are non slip, so no imitations of Bambi on ice for him. We would certainly recommend this property and intend to re-visit ourselves in the future.

  • "Really enjoyed our stay here would recommend."

    House was lovely and clean and everything was thougth of by the owners. We had information on take out, restrants and places to visit. Although we did not spend much time in Preston (we prefer Torquay.) It was all walking distance although we popped on the bus. The bus is at the end of the road and only a 5 minute bus ride. However with a 5 year old and 3 year old a bus was easier. The House is a perfect location for walking or bus lots to do for family's. Really enjoyed our stay.

    Everything you want and need is here, as well as a lovely garden,apartment is always clean upon arrival. Central position for visiting surrounding areas. Lots of little touches from Sharon and Gary, cream teas awaiting on arrival, fresh flowers and torches in both bedrooms are just a few to name. We have another visit booked for later in the year, can't wait. Would definitely recommend.

  • "The flat was spotless on arrival, so had been really well cleaned, and with a nice cream tea waiting for us."

    We did worry after booking it, that with four adults and a dog, it would feel too cramped and small. However we should not have been worried as it was much larger on the inside than we had imagined and we had plenty of room to spread out without getting on top of each other. The flat was very well equipped, with everything you needed and very well maintained and had a lovely modern and holiday feel to it. Whilst the actual area the flat is located in (Preston), is not that desirable, the location is in fact very central to all the sites in and around Torbay and easy access to the sea front and only a 20 minute walk in to the centre of Paignton. The added benefit of the garden was great and the ability to sit outside (when it stopped raining) was also lovely, plus it being secure for the dog!

    Spotlessly clean and nice and warm on arrival. The ' icing on the cake ' was the cream tea that was waiting for us - ham sarnies and scones with raspberry jam and clotted cream. Yum. The apartment is not far from shops and restaurants, and just a 10 minute walk to the beach. So if you wanted to you could leave the car parked up for your stay. Even the weather was good for January with only a little rain. Well done Sharon and Gary.

    We struggled to find a house that took our dog which was an amazing plus for us. It’s situated right by the beach down the road so perfect for dog walks on the beach. Down the road to loads of shops and a petrol station which is great. The house was lovely. Very comfortable and fully equipped. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

    We were greeted by scones with jam and cream, sandwiches in the fridge, tea coffee milk and biscuits also sat waiting for us. The property was exceptionally clean and well stocked with all the necessities you could wish for. There has obviously been a lot of thought put into making this an exceptional property.The garden is fully enclosed ideal for our dog Alfie who spent a good deal of time exploring it with us having peace of mind knowing that he was safe.Car parking space off road even though the road was very quiet. There were three adults in our party plus the dog and the property was an ideal size we never had a feeling of being cramped at all.

    I arrived to a lovely clean property, quickly warmed up with good heating, and soon settled in to a home from home. Bed was clean and well sprung, tv worked, WiFi worked, all crockery and cutlery clean. Very reassuring. Great to have your car safe on the drive. Nice garden to sit in and look out on from conservatory when eating. Definitely recommend this property probably for a couple or young family. Although Preston isn't much to look at it was quiet off season. Paignton resort is easily walkable along the sea front, several nearby coastal resorts are reachable by car or bus. The beach is a few minutes walk from the apartment.

    Visited in February and the flat was lovely and warm. Off road parking and welcome tea, could not fault anything and would reccomend. Dog friendly beach out of season which was like a social event each day for doggies and humans. Used bus service to Totnes and Brixham (accepts dogs on board) with bus stop at the end of the road. Perfect.

    There were sandwichs in the fridge and scones with cream and jam most wlcoming. The flat was like home from home everything that you would need was there. Bed was comfortable and road was very quiet as its a cul-de-sac. there was a nice lawned area idea for the dog.     We enjoyed our stay at Pier View, the owners Sharon and Gary made us feel most welcome. The only disappointment was that we did not realise when booking this property, it was a ground floor accommodation and not an actual cottage. Other than that we found the property to be very spacious, well equipped, and clean. It was ideally situated with so many locations we could visit travelling either by walking or public transport. Sharon and Gary had left us so much information with regards to dog friendly beaches etc. which we found most useful. Would we consider booking this property again in the future? Most definitely.

  • "A lovely place to stay exactly as the description in a very quiet residential street in the Preston area of Paignton."

    It was a bonus to have a lovely garden with the BBQ available and the owners had gone to a lot of trouble in providing us with a lovely cream tea on arrival with some sandwiches. The kitchen was well equipped the flat was within walking distance of a small shop and two fish and chip shops and only a bit further was the beach. There was a good pub which was a slightly longer walk but we didn't mind as the weather in Paignton during our stay was brilliant. Definitely give the holiday 10 out of 10. Thank you to Sykes for the easy booking and all the information given and thank you to the owners for everything you did for us it was very much appreciated. We would book with Sykes again and I would recommend them.

    Not far to walk to get to the coast path, and a handy park to exercise the dog, also safe garden to let the dog out into. Very good chippy, London Fryer, and convenience shop very handy. Flat was very well equipped and we appreciated the bite to eat, milk, tea & coffee we found waiting for us. Very good appliances. Would have liked a blind at kitchen window, as although privacy did not seem to be an issue, shade would have been welcome in the mornings! A great success.

  • "Although described as a cottage in all the literature we received, I would rather call it an apartment or flat."

    The property is a large semi detached house for which we had the whole of the bottom floor. Having searched on google maps I wasn't surprised about this but some people may be, however this in no way spoilt our holiday. We were greeted with scones, jam, clotted cream and sandwiches which was a lovely thought and very welcome after our long drive from Nottingham. Upon exploring the accommodation we were pleased to see it was very clean, comfortable and best of all it was lovely and warm as we were holidaying in a very cold week in February. The large double bed was very comfortable in the master bedroom which is at the front of the property on the street side, there is a television in this room and ample storage including two chest of drawers and a wardrobe, there is another bedroom which we didn't use with two single beds and a wardrobe. The lounge was comfortable with a leather settee with reclining foot rests and armchair, there is a large wall mounted flat screen television, lots of DVD's and some games in a set of drawers. We were very pleased with the free wifi throughout the property. The dining room is a lovely large conservatory which is heated and overlooks the garden, perfect for comfortable dining. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need to make your stay enjoyable. A washer, dishwasher, microwave, large fridge freezer, double electric oven and four ringed gas hob plus all the pots, pans, plates, cups, saucers, mugs, cooking utensils you would ever need should you be cooking meals. There is a small toilet room with toilet and washbasin, and a larger bathroom and with walk in shower, toilet, bidet and washbasin. The property is ideal for disabled use, it is all on ground level with wide doors, a low level gas hob in the kitchen and a large walk in shower. If you were wheelchair bound you may need to ask the upstairs neighbours to move their car as there wouldn't be room to get a wheelchair past it, the drive and path to the front door may also prove difficult to negotiate as it was pebble stones. There is off street parking for one car outside but another car may be able to find on street parking outside or near the property. The approach road can get a little congested with a garage premises and their related vehicles parking both sides at the bottom of the road but further up the road where the property is it is very quiet as it's a cul-de-sac. There are people living upstairs accessed via a completely separate door, we weren't sure whether it was the owners of the property but if it was we didn't see them and they didn't come and say hello but there was a telephone number to ring if you needed them, there was very little noise from upstairs or next door so the rooms must be well sound proofed. The property is within easy walking distance of Preston beach and if you are fit you can walk to Paignton one way and Torquay the other way but that is a little further. The main road is on a bus route to both resorts. There is a wetherspoons pub a 15 minute walk away but the main pubs, restaurants and entertainment is either Paignton or Torquay. We had a lovely week and would recommend the property for a restful, comfortable, reasonable priced holiday.

    Clean and spacious. Owners very friendly and helpful. Had a wonderful stay. Liked that there was a keysafe for key collection as we arrived very late. Travelled with an infant - note there is no bath here but we took a baby bath and that was fine as the bathroom is spacious. Bedroom 2 (2x singles) is small so we had to move one of the single beds out to be able to put our cot in there. Master bedroom is huge + plenty of space for cot. We couldn't find any pubs or restaurants within walking distance but found some nice restaurants at the harbour.

This inviting apartment provides a lovely stay, situated in the Preston area of the charming seaside town of Paignton, within walking distance to the beach.
