  • "What a lovely place to stay."

Very close to everything. The view from the lounge was lovely. Beds were comfortable and it was very quiet at night. Would recommend it.

  • "This is our third stay at No2 and as usual it never fails to give us a really good holiday in Salcombe."

We have rebooked for 2025. However, this year we had an intermittent signal wi-fi up to Thursday and then none after that. We could not access the Sky programme as we had no password etc. We reported the problem but nothing happened by the time we left. Just as well we ere on holiday and not intending to spend time working. The apartment always seeks to thrill with the view but it is not always as clean as it could be and needs a bit of decorating TLC. Malcolm and Elaine 2024

We are so pleased you enjoyed Church Hill House again and that amazing view! I am glad you have rebooked for 2025! Sorry the wifi was an issue - Openreach sorted the issue as soon as was possible. Property Owner

  • "This is the fourth time we have stayed in this lovely apartment, mainly for the great location and view."

We have had a lovely holiday. However,I would like to point out that the mattress in the smaller double bedroom is extremely uncomfortable and really does need to be replaced.

We are so pleased you enjoyed the wonderful view in Church Hill House. We note all your comments. Property Owner

  • "I have rented this property many times over many years ."

The beds are soooo comfortable , I have remarked that a larger freezer would be welcomed . The sofas have been recovered but they do need the base to be given firmer cushions . The balcony ‘glass’ isn’t cleaned , finger marks all along , same as last year , appreciated the upgrade in the shower and toilets.

I am so glad you enjoyed the apartment again and the wonderful views it gives over the harbour. I am sure you know there is a secondary freezer above the washing machine. The fridge freezer in the kitchen was brand new this season. I will make sure the balcony glass is regularly cleaned. Thank you for your comments. Property Owner

  • "The lock on the downstairs shower room was hanging off as was the toilet roll holder but aside from this condition if property was good."

This did not in any way impact our stay but thought you would like to know. The kitchen could benefit from a cafetiere. The house was in a great location and the views were stunning.

The beds are so comfortable . My only suggestion is to have a shelf above each sink for toothbrushes and toothpaste ..

We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay in our property and that you appreciated the improvements we have made since last year especially the new bathrooms. We take on board your comment about a shelf and will see what we can do! Property Owner

The flat everything we needed .. The only thing is the bed mattresses they hurt our backs they seem old and too soft. But that could be cause we use Simba mattress which is not like a regular mattress

  • "Pros The location is amazing."

The view from the lounge and master bedroom fab. The kitchen is well equipped. Cons The house is tired and unclean. Examples, food on kitchen worktops and in draws. Saucepans filthy. Radiators in one bathroom very rusty and unclean. Toilet brush absolutely awful and needs throwing away. Whilst their are two bathrooms en-suite, neither have a toilet. Whole apartment needs a deep clean and repaint.

We are so glad you enjoyed the location and the incredible view from Church Hill House. We have replaced the items you comment on and during the winter the property will be repainted and deep cleaned. Property Owner

  • "The property certainly has the wow factor with the amazing view."

The main criticism would be the dated bedrooms, bathrooms and overall cleanliness of the property. This was feedback to Sykes within the first 48 hours which the representative didn't really seem interested in. In summary, the carpets were stained, the toilets were dirty (w.c.'s stained), shower cubicles covered in mildew, entrance hall cupboard dirty, sofas dirty underneath seat cushions, frying pan heavily stained. In contrast we viewed the property next door and this was in immaculate condition for a reduced price. We didn't let this spoil our stay but do feel the above needs addressing.

We are so glad you had a good holiday and enjoyed the amazing view from the property. We will address your comments with the team at Coast & Country accordingly. Property Owner

  • "Due to the oven door smashing halfway through our holiday and not being repaired before we left a week later we had to eat out more with kids, which cost us lots more money."

....The pots and pans need replacing and the cutting knives were not sharp (couldn't even cut butter) and the amount of feathers from the bed linen/pillows was ridiculous, but it had a great view from the living room.

We are so glad you enjoyed the amazing view from 2 Church Hill House. Thank you for your comments - we will address the pots, pans, knives and feathers. We are sorry the oven door smashed (we have no idea what caused this) and that it took a few days to replace but there is a secondary smaller oven in the kitchen which you could have used. • "Loved the apartment."

Beautiful location. Great views. Really well equipped and plenty big enough for 8 people. Beds were quite soft for us but that’s a personal preference. Only one suggestion, as it accommodates 8, either a key safe at the property or extra keys as not everyone sticks together for the week. In fairness, a quick call to Coast and country and they managed to get us another set of keys but it would have been very difficult without them.

  • "Lovely flat with an amazing location right in the centre of Salcombe main high street."

Would be handy to have a cot and high chair available given families are likely to stay given the size of the flat. But otherwise couldn’t fault the flat it and it’s facilities. We would love to stay again.

  • "The view is truly stunning and location is fab."

A parking permit for extra car should be provided for price. Felt for the money the apartment wasn't cared for. Decoration is tired. Ceilings are badly painted and furnishings are tatty. Sofas are old and we found loads of rubbish under them. Cleaning wasn't very thorough considering we were just out of pandemic. No welcome pack . No extras . Nespresso machine for example with no capsules to start off. Cheap storage units and furniture and one room had one cupboard which for a week was poor with no hanging space. Showers not very powerful and ensuites were like dark cupboards with no toilets . Overall we were quite disappointed for the money we paid. Truly felt the owners were out to make money rather than cared about the quality and comfort of our stay.

We are glad you enjoyed the stunning view and the prime location. In response to your other points the apartment has recently been purchased and the new owners are currently embarking on improvements to the property. New sofa and cushion covers are being made to replace the sun bleached covers (sun bleached due to the wonderful window). The ceilings are lime washed to allow the wood effect through the paint. We note your comments re the cleaning which will be addressed together with the welcome pack which will be provided in the future. The apartment is well equipped with plenty of cupboard and storage space. The owners are addressing the lighting in the ensuite bathrooms. Property Owner

February is a quiet time in the town and perfect for long walks. The property was perfect for us as we ended up being on our own due to our family not being able to join us. It is more suited to families with children as there are only two toilets which are on the downstairs bedroom area.

Many thanks for leaving your lovely feedback. We are thrilled 2 Church Hill House was your perfect holiday home. We do hope that you come back to Salcombe soon. Property Owner
