  • “Keel Row is an exceptional property with fantastic views of the estuary and sea from the conservatory and balcony.”

It is at the top of a very steep hill so going into Salcombe is easy but walking back up is not for the faint hearted, although the bus service does stop right outside the property. It has all the equipment that you would want for your stay and we were more than happy with our two weeks holiday.

The property

Resting in an elevated position above the spectacular Salcombe Estuary, with views towards Small’s Cove, Mill Bay and to the open sea, is this lovely apartment, The Keel Row, part of Propeller House.

Just a short stroll away from the action of Salcombe's centre, this delightful abode offers a group of up to six a superb holiday home in Salcombe, Devon.

Park up in the two allocated parking spaces before venturing up the steps to your home-from-home, stopping to admire your idyllic surroundings and unrivalled views before discovering the beauty from within the property.

Find the twin bedroom to your left while the master king-size bedroom sits on the right, hosting its own en-suite shower room, and each room boasting comfortable furnishings and linens for the perfect self-catering stay.

The master bedroom offers beautiful views from its access onto the terrace, where you can sit out and enjoy your morning coffee in serenity.

The property also has a family bathroom where you can take a warm, relaxing soak after a day in the salty sea, before unwinding amidst the warmth of the electric fire in the more traditionally-styled sitting room, also boasting a double sofa bed to allow for two more small guests to join you on your travels.

Leading on from the sitting room is the sunny conservatory where you can sit back and enjoy a good book and the stunning views, before venturing into the kitchen/diner to prepare a hearty meal for your loved ones, a good range of appliances to assist you, with plenty of room for little helpers to get involved at the dining table too.

When you can tear yourself away from this beautiful base, gather your wetsuits from the rear courtyard and head out for a day of adventure; follow the road into Salcombe's centre to be met by a host of enticing attractions and amenities, with plenty of pubs, cafés and restaurants where you can enjoy a celebratory dinner and even sample some fresh seafood, as well as a scatter of stores to pick up some snacks for a picnic on the beach.

Discover the rich history of the area and the Salcombe Maritime Museum, before visiting the two beautiful beaches in the area, North Sands and South Sands, with plenty of opportunities for paddling and sandcastle building, as well as a range of watersports available for those feeling more adventurous including paddle boarding, kayaking, sailing, surfing and much more, while a more relaxed voyage can be encountered on a ferry ride from Whitestrand to South Sands.
