Description

This detached cottage converted from an old milking parlour is situated amongst farmland in Sampford Courtenay.

With a charming garden, this is a calming cottage for a relaxing break to recharge your batteries.

Head on in to the open plan living area, all big, bright and beautiful, where you can watch TV, sit back and gaze over the garden or open the doors to the sunny patio on a fine day.

You have a handy bedroom on the ground floor, or take the stairs from the sitting area up to the gallery, a quiet area to read or play board games, then through to a twin bedroom which is made private from the sitting area below with a curtain.

All around the cottage are lovely gardens, well tended and a special place to wander and spot a wide range of plants and wildlife around the ponds and brook.

Stroll beyond to the good village inn, just ¼ mile along a lane, to enjoy an excellent menu, or the bustling town of Okehampton offers a choice of eateries as well as a cinema and leisure centre.

You can coarse fish nearby or head to Dartmoor for excellent walking or off road cycling.

With its central location, The Old Parlour is a brilliant place for soaking up the peace or touring the countryside and coast of Devon.

Loved every second from the moment we arrived, in fact enjoyed it so much we have already booked 2 weeks at The Old Parlour next year.

Can't overstate how nice the property and the gardens are, especially the gardens. Our shy little dog really came out of her shell and by the end of the week was off on her own chasing the squirrels.

Just spent 4 days at the old parlour, what a beautiful cottage and the grounds are stunning.

The cottage is very comfortable and contains everything you could possibly need. The grounds are very dog friendly. All in all a fantastic place to stay and we would certainly return

A return visit for us to this beautiful place - spacious, clean and comfortably furnished, looking out on an exceptional garden where you are free to wander.

Andrew is a friendly and welcoming host and has supplied everything you need, with lovely touches like fresh flowers from his garden. The property is centrally located, within easy reach of many local attractions and beauty spots. There is a good pub within a few minutes' walk, serving excellent food, in this pretty Devon village. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
