Easy to find directions were spot on.

The Owner, Andrew met us at the gate and helped us with our luggage. We had a hot week so the shaded garden was a god send. We hope to make a return visit.

Little retreat was excellent.

The cottage is tastefully done, extremely clean & very comfortable. We had such a wonderful time relaxing in comfort of the cottage & beautiful garden. All the things to see & do are easily reached by short car or bus journeys. Please thank the owners for their exceptional property & kind welcome pack on arrival. We will come back again. 100% fantastic place to stay

Lovely property would benefit from maybe a bigger bed.

From a double to a kingsize. This is the only fault for me.

Great touring base for the area all facilities provided tea coffee and a welcome pack with treats and a pint of milk for arrival.

Bath with shower over and effective hot water and central heating. The patio deck from living room great place to relax in the sunshine and it was quiet at night.The parking spot on the front was ok for my small i10 a larger car may not fit without overhanging the road. Would certainly use again if visiting the area.

I had a wonderful week staying at the Little Retreat.

The title was quite appropriate as I booked the cottage as writing retreat. I spent a week mostly working, but I also had a chance to visit a nearby cafe-restaurant "Wishing Well" which was excellent. I have stayed in many cottages, but this was a great place satisfying all my requirements and exceeding my expectations. I briefly met the owners of the cottage who were most agreeable and helpful hosts, and I look forward to coming back at some point in the future.

Wonderful, cosy cottage with everything you need set in beautiful gardens with the added bonus on a lovely decking area to sit out on.

This is a superb holiday home.

It is well equipped, very comfortable and well situated for exploring Dorset and the South coast. A "home from home" it is cosy and beautifully decorated. You'll feel instantly at home. We loved it.

All you need for a lovely stay, if you like peace and quiet but within easy reach of places this is the place to stay highly recommend

Little Retreat certainly lived up to its name offering the peace and tranquility we were looking for, but also being close to services.

The accommodation was very comfortable, well furnished and equipped, offering everything we needed , so it did not take long to settle in and feel at home. Whilst the weather was a bit of a mixture we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Little Retreat and would certainly rate the accommodation of a high standard and a credit to the owners.

A little gem of a hideaway, beautifully equipped and furnished, walking distance to award winning Wishing Well Tearooms (prebook!

). Warm and cosy, quiet and peaceful, but only 10 mins to Dorchester. Everything you could need, would love to go back in summer. Parking quite tight if you have a large 4wd but doable. Great place to recharge your batteries and relax

We had a wonderful week at the Little Retreat.

The location was perfect for us to travel around on the buses and trains The cottage had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, especially as we hadn't driven to the property. It was incredibly clean, quiet and well appointed. Many thanks for the welcome pack. We really enjoyed our stay.

A lovely place to stay, so peaceful with a pretty outlook.

The kitchen had everything you needed to cook for the week and the extra bits supplied by Sarah and Andrew were very welcomed. The place was warm and cosy and there were bus routes a 5 minute walk away to Weymouth and Dorchester. We had a long walk to Hardy’s monument and visited the wishing well cafe which was lovely. We would definitely recommend this place to stay. Our standards are high and they were met! Sarah and Andrew were very friendly and nothing would have been too much trouble for them in order to make your stay comfortable. A gem!

Little Retreat felt homely as soon as we walked through the door, hosts Sarah & Andrew (not forgetting Skye) had thought of everything, and the welcome hamper was a lovely and much appreciated touch.

The accommodation was comfortable, and had everything you could need, the bed was one of the comfiest we've slept in. Perfectly situated for exploring the whole area, the buses are nearby and frequent, the railway station is 5 minutes away and free parking. A Dorset cream tea at the Wishing Well is a must! All in all a fabulous week, thank you Sarah, Andrew & Skye.

A lovely cottage, decorated to a very high standard and spotlessly clean.

It’s very well equipped including household items such as washing up liquid etc. The decking area was an added bonus it was lovely to sit out in the garden on warm evenings. Upwey is very well situated, Weymouth and Dorchester are very close by and can be accessed by a bus that runs from the top of the road. The owners have thought of everything and provided a welcome pack which included a pint of milk which was much appreciated. There are two good pubs close by that provide good food and The Wishing Well restaurant is a 10 minute walk and well worth the effort. We would definitely recommend and hope to return soon

We had a fantastic time the accommodation was second to none I will be booking more holidays with you the couple who own the little retreat we’re so welcoming Sarah and Andrew even the dog Skye I wish our holiday didn’t have to end one if not thee best holidays in England I’ve ever had so jealous of the couple who are on holiday there right now

We have stayed in many self catering cottages and Little Retreat was the best from the welcome greeting on our arrival to very clean and well equipped cottage.

Little Retreat was well situated to be able to walk from the door and the nearby bus stop was a welcome bonus to be able to travel further afield. Would most definitely return.

As pensioners celebrating our 55th anniversary we were hoping the Little Retreat would live up to our expectations ( it did ).

It was very clean, comfortable, very quiet & peaceful, equipped with all we needed, the decking / garden area is a lovely bonus and you have your own privacy. The Little Retreat is an ideal base for touring or as we did just to chill for a week. Definitely worth a re - visit. Many thanks for a lovely week. Trev & Sandy

Everything was perfect and the welcome warm.

The only thing we missed was a dishwasher! Perhaps a small one would fit.

The Little Retreat is a lovely compact bungalow set in a quiet village away from the hustle and bustle of Weymouth, We loved our stay which suited our needs with bus stops just a few minutes away at the top of the road and a good pub serving real ales.

In the morning we could see deer, rabbits and birds from the French doors in the sitting area. On arrival there was a bag of ground coffee, crisps, soft drinks and milk to greet us. The accommodation was spotless clean throughout. Overall highly recommended. The only negatives would be the absence of a dishwasher and the bathroom would benefit from upgrading to bring it up to a higher standard

A delightful bungalow in a lovely setting in a quiet village.

The cottage was well equipped, the owners having thought of everything, and the welcome package was a nice touch. The owners, despite being on holiday, were contactable in case of any issues. We will certainly visit again.

A lovely base from which to explore the area and there was so much to see without travelling long distances. We returned to the cottage each day and enjoyed sitting on the decking with a glass in the hand and listening to the silence! Wonderful and we hope to return. Little Retreat is an immaculate cottage in a lovely peaceful setting.

The attention to detail is incredible and is a credit to the hosts, Andrew and Sarah. There is parking for a car at the property and also a very good bus service with a bus stop nearby at the top of the road, which we used several times to travel to Weymouth and Dorchester. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to return, later in 2022.

It felt like from from home.

Everything was there that we needed. The gardens were fabulous. It was quiet except for the birds flying around and lovely to sit and watch the rabbits in the field beyond. Instructions for everything was clear in their book. Little Retreat was situated in a lovely village street, easy access, own parking. Walks etc. close by It is clear that Sarah and Andrew take pride in their property as it was decorated to a high standard. Also Sarah purchased another set of mattress cover, pillow covers etc. so that we had fresh on, due to covid. Sarah followed the covid instructions, shame other Sykes properties do not!!! I would recommend Little Retreat

Had a great time at little retreat everything was there that we needed , very quite and restful Sarah and Andrew were very pleasant and welcoming, All COVID sanitisers and cleaners ready for us which was comforting.

Andrew and Sarah who own Little Retreat were very helpful and it was a pleasure to meet them.

They advised on places to visit and generally helpful without being obtrusive.There were plenty of bays and coves along the coast which were delightful and the scenery was stunning.

Lovely comfortable and private holiday cottage.

Had everything you could want for a self catering holiday. Perfect location for exploring Dorset, from Arne in the east to Chesil beach, Abbotsbury, Portland Bill and of course Weymouth in the West. Very convenient for buses into Weymouth and Dorchester. Also must mention the hosts, Sarah and Andrew, who made us so welcome and not forgetting Skye too. Thank you all very much for a lovely holiday.

We had a lovely relaxing week, our hosts were so helpful. We have stayed in many cottages over the years but this one surpassed them all, so clean and well stocked. We certainly will be going back.

Have stayed at Little Retreat once before and the new owners are aiming - successfully - to improve on already high standards. An excellent venue and a good base for touring Dorset, Somerset and Devon. The out-of-season prices are particularly attractive

We were very pleased with the cottage, it was clean and fresh with lots of little extras. Quality tea and coffee with biscuits and a small jug of milk in the fridge, a small thing but makes a big difference. Good quality towels. The owners were very pleasant and made us feel welcome and they obviously spend a lot of time maintaining their garden. We would happily recommend "Little Retreat"
