2 Buckfields

We spent a very comfortable weekend in 2 Buckfields.

The property was very clean, just apart from the two bedroom rugs which were in much need of a clean, otherwise everything was pretty much spotless. Plenty of hot water for 3 of us with showers etc. and lovely to have the semi private area outside the back door. Very close into town and it seemed a much shorter walk than I had viewed on google maps, and the the uphill climb was tiring but manageable. A lovely long weekend break in a lovely area close to town but far enough away from all the crowds. The one big issue for me was the lack of black out blinds in the bedrooms and the wooden slatted blinds did not shut out the early morning light pouring in. For this reason only I would not book here again.

The accommodation was perfect, but we did struggle with the stiffness of the front door.

Very clean and comfortable, lots of thought had been put into the extras, kitchen items, books, area guides. We will definitely be back.

Loved our stay in Lyme Regis.

The Service from Lyme Bay Properties was great, the booking process was easy and everything from key collection to key drop off was very straightforward. Would definitely recommend and use again.

This is a nice clean and comfortable flat , well equipped and nicely situated.

Lovely bath / shower. I think it would benefit from a grab handle over the bath though , if you were to slip there is nothing to grab onto . Saying that , this is my 2nd time of staying in this flat and I wouldn't hesitate to return.

A very clean, spacious and nicely decorated apartment with good facilities, an excellent shower over the bath and a nice welcome pack.

Overall it was a very nice place to stay and we would go back. The slight drawback was that the hill from the town was quite a steep climb up but ok if you take it slowly, and the parking space was a tight fit and would be tricky for a big car. The front door did stick and needs attention. Otherwise we would recommend it.

A very comfortable and relaxing stay, quiet grounds and close to sea .

The property was lovely and well equipped.

The entrance from the car park looked a bit run down and there were a lot of dead flies on the stairs. The very steep hill to the beach wasn’t really made clear in the description. Luckily we knew Lyme Regis so was aware of the hill.

Property as described, very comfortable and clean.

Firstly I think more should be made of the gated parking because that is definitely an asset of the property.

The ability to walk through the garden and go out on to the street via the back gate is also really handy and stops the need for a car in busy Lyme Regis. The interior decor of the flat however felt tired. The main sofa was a sofa bed so was hard to sit on and the fabric at the bottom was ripped. Everything worked but the appliances are all very old (WiFi router, microwave, kettle and toaster) so work okay but feel a bit grotty and over used as it would in student digs. The WiFi was slow because of the old router not the connection. The bathroom and immersion heater were is the worst shape. It took ages to heat the water and we had to stagger baths and showers to ensure everyone could wash - really hot water is a basic necessity when you advertise a property as family friendly. There is also mould on the ceiling of the bathroom and because of the lack of windows and poor working extractor fan the bathroom would feel wet and smell damp most the time. It was probably a really nice property when it was first decorated but now everything is a little tired. The front door is incredibly stiff and should be looked at. We were also shocked that the main lock is a deadbolt and not a proper secure lock. It is an interior door and the flats feel very safe but still, an older couple or those with mobility issues in their hands would struggle to get inside and might not secure it properly as it is very stiff. Overall an okay property if you factor in the above caveats but not 4 star unless the above is updated.

Our 3rd time staying at 2 Buckfields and it didn't disappoint again.

Perfect location for exploring and lovely accommodation to make the stay even better, relaxed and comfortable. Would continue to stay here for any future visits to Lyme

The front door of the apartment was impossible for me to open as the door was warped even after a maintenance person came round.

Mattresses on twin beds uncomfortable with buttons poking out. However the apartment as a whole was wonderful, peaceful, beautifully furnished and well equipped.

A super apartment,extremely comfortable,well equipped and very homely.

We made good use of the private patio and the communal garden area due to the good weather. Our one and only slight criticism is that we found the front door very difficult to physically open and shut.No doubt this can be easily rectified and we tended to use the patio door to enter and exit which was much easier! We would definitely love to stay here again,thank you.

Great apartment I'd say generous room sizes, lovely comfy beds, clean and well equipped, everything we needed, short walk to the centre of Lyme.

Nice property well maintained

Perhaps we weren’t looking well enough but couldn’t find replacement bin bag as ours split.

Would be an idea to mention that the apartment is up a hill, for those guests who might find it problematic. We would book again. Girls loved the shops and time spent fossil hunting.

We really enjoyed our stay again at Buckfields.

Very clean and comfortable. A couple of suggestions: The crockery is a bit tired and short of a few pieces. A new set of 8 place settings would be good, and the patio furniture could do with a upgrade.

Very spacious property and lovely to have the outside space.

10 minute walk to the seafront but remember that Lyme is very hilly!! Well equipped apartment and would recommend.

Excellent apartment and very well equipped.

The car parking was really good, and very secure.

Overall a very positive experience.

However,: just a couple of things people should be aware of . The immersion heater needs to be turned on on arrival,and needs to be highlighted in the apartment notes. The allotted parking space is not easy to manoeuvre into and out of,even if nobody is parked next to you.It could,and should,be widened by transplanting the adjacent box hedge.
