Seagull Cottage

Beautiful property close to the Mill and museums.

Perfect for our family. Thanks so much!

A garden umbrella would be nice especially if it is hot as there is no shade in the garden.

This was our 2nd visit and we will come again.

Wonderful second stay brilliant location beautiful cottage so close to everything

Seagull Cottage was perfect; great location, clean and has parking.

We had two cars and managed to fit them one in front of the other. We had a fantastic time on our first visit to Lyme

Had a lovely stay.

Well equipped and very clean cottage. Could have done with larger bath towels. Couldn't make the main oven work despite the instruction book but managed with the mimi oven for what we needed. Hob was very slow! The garden was a lovely suntrap and the location was great, just a short walk from town and beach. We would definitely stay again.

Lovely cottage, beautifully clean and well equipped.

Beds comfortable. Garden is a suntrap. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would return.

Just back from a lovely 4 night winter break at Seagull cottage.

Good instructions on getting there (as it is tucked away a little). Delighted to find that the parking was allowed enough room for our VW T5 van. The cottage was extremely comfortable and cosy. Everything was clean, well maintained and good quality. Spare dog bowls and poo bags were nice touches. Simple thing but as pet owners, we felt more welcome! Very good access to the sea/beach and all the lovely places to eat and drink in Lyme. Nice touch from the staff at Lyme Bay Holidays to call us to let us know when the cottage was ready on arrival day and again to after our first night to make sure that everything was in order. Delighted to have found this cottage and looking forward to visiting again.

Wonderful stay at Seagull Cottage!

We've stayed at many places in Lyme over the years and this is our new favourite. It's spacious enough, comfy, cosy, modern and well equipped. It's well positioned just a few minutes walk from town and the seafront with a lovely enclosed back garden which is great for dog owners and parents of small children. Even better, it has it's own parking on the driveway just yards from the front door which is unheard of in Lyme. Heating was easy to work although not really needed. Only issue we had is the same as everybody else - the TV is temperamental and has a mind of its own! The live channels worked only occasionally and needed retuning regularly, however everything like iPlayer etc worked perfectly and were perfectly good enough for us. Overall, highly recommended, we'll definitely be back!

Seagull Cottage is a perfect location for dog friendly family holidays.

Excellent location near pubs, cafes ,shops and seafront , although anyone with mobility problems might find the very steep and narrow streets problematic. The cottage was very clean and well equipped, warm and comfortable . Parking allocated for 2 cars is also very useful and another very good reason to stay in this delightful cottage. We all really enjoyed our holiday in Seagull Cottage {3 Generations} and would not hesitate to stay again

Delighted with the property - comfortable, clean and superbly equipped.

Very practical for our dogs with the secure outside space and the parking space was invaluable. A good location close to the beach, the shops and all the local amenities.

Overall a lovely stay, very good facilities and very clean.

We all found the beds a little to firm resulting in stiff backs all around. The parking situation is a bit tight, we only had 2 small cars but manoeuvring was tricky and one car ended up with a scrape down one side. A lovely bag of goodies awaited our arrival along with supplies of all the basic things needed, ie washing up liquid and bin bags. I would defiinitely recommend this property to anyone, though be prepared for the walk back up from the seafront!

The cottage itself is very nice and clean and very convenient for the town and seafront.

The welcome pack was very thoughtful and a lovely touch. My problems were that the beds were far too small for myself and my son being that we are both well over 6ft tall and did not make for a restful stay. The fact that we were without water for over twenty four hours due to a burst pipe in town was also not a great experience as after this the towel rails did not work.

This was our second stay and we are already looking for dates for a third stay.

Highly recommend, four adults stayed here with two dogs and was very comfortable for us, perfectly placed opposite the church on church lane, short but steep walk down to church cliff beach (great for looking for fossils and sea glass whilst walking along the beach to Charmouth at low tide) and to our favourite restaurant Lyme bay cafe, just five minutes walk away. The property has been scrupulously clean on both occasions and everything you will need is there to make a meal (just bring food, salt and pepper). The downstairs shower room is prefect for the dog who loved paddling in the rock pools on the beach, three lovely sized bedrooms with loads of storage. Having a garden is lovely place to rest after days of walking on the coastal paths around Lyme, it’s pebbled and has a lovely patio and new garden furniture on this visit. The secure parking larger enough for a koraq SUV with roof box is wonderful bonus. It’s a bit tricky to find initially, but you need to go down a narrow road opposite the church on church lane, if going down towards to Lyme it’s immediately on the right after the Hong Kong chinese takeaway (which I would also recommend), then go passed the workshops on left, about 15m along there’s a tight turn on the left, before the road forks, drive through the church/town council car park, and you go down a slope and you are there. Once you know where you are, it’s perfect, as you can avoid the Lyme traffic at busy holiday times. One thing to note Lyme is very hilly, however the cottage is pretty accessible, there is a step down in to the garden but it’s large and easy to manoeuvre if you have mobility issues, all the bedrooms are upstairs which are a little steep but there are handrails and a turn. If you couldn’t have guessed… we love this place and will be back.

Seagull Cottage was the perfect base for our stay in Lyme Regis, close to the centre of town and the sea front but tucked away and quiet.

It was very comfortable and everything worked as it should do which was appreciated as the weather wasn’t great during our stay! A big bonus was to have parking; we didn’t use the car at all as we could walk everywhere. We’d definitely stay here again.

The cottage was beautiful, very clean and the position in the town was excellent especially with parking.

We have often visited Lyme Regis and your cottage was by far the best. It had everything that we needed and was a bonus having the enclosed garden and we were really lucky with the weather.

Lovely cottage in great location.

Great to have parking. Thoroughly enjoyed Lyme Regis. Main negative was lack of recycling even though we saw boxes for this at neighbouring properties. Also no ice cube tray!

Lovely cottage in a great location.

Well equipped and parking for 2 cars was excellent.

Clean well located and generally well equipped cottage.

A slight criticism is the difficulty involved in navigating the TV system. In particular it was impossible to locate the ITV channels. We would be happy to return if we visited Lyme again. Thank you

Holiday was great, seagull cottage was lovely, clean and comfortable.

. Had an issue with the TV couldn’t get itv, this wouldn’t have been a problem had it not been Xmas. A guy came around and got it to work from his phone through an app. So we downloaded it to one of our phones but tbh it was a real pain to use, so that was very disappointing as it was the only Chanel we really wanted. But the property is very central and in easy access of beach and restaurants. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

Lovely comfortable little cottage, spotless clean, well equipped with everything you need, generous welcome pack on arrival was a really nice thought.

My only criticism - the leather sofa is very uncomfortable and bed pillows need a refresh. I'm glad I took my own pillow! Two private parking spaces which is a real bonus in Lyme Regis. Reversed into space with no problems. Secure garden for children and dogs. Location is perfect for exploring the coastline and is a short walk to beach, shops, cafes and restaurants. Would definitely recommend and we hope to return

The location of seagull cottage is excellent and two parking spaces in Lyme a real bonus - the accommodation is well equipped and very comfortable and cosy - it’s our second time staying here and we hope to be back

Great location with parking.

No need to drive through Lyme Regis which was useful during busy periods. Close to the beach and shops. A great cottage with everything you could possibly need. Every pot and pan provided! Spotless on arrival. Comfortable beds in beautiful bedrooms. A large hall which provided plenty of room for suitcases along with a bench for putting your shoes on which was very useful. We will return.

Highly recommended, ideal location good parking very comfortable and clean I would definitely stay there again.

Glyn

Wonderful property.

Ideally situated, loved by us and the dogs. The downstairs wet room was perfect to clean the dogs down without making a mess in the living room. Only slightly faulted by the overflowing kitchen drain which is making a mess of the patio. The back outside windows need a good clean also. None of this would stop us booking again though.

We stayed for a few days at Seagull Cottage.

It was a beautiful cottage perfectly situated only a few minutes from the front. The cottage had all the amenities to cook which we did a couple of times. At the end of our stay the sun came out so we were able to spend time in the lovely garden. Great cottage would highly recommend

We stayed at Seagull Cottage last year and enjoyed it.

It has a great location particularly for a young family - close to the beach, cafes, restaurants and the wide range of shops. But the absence of a washing machine (there was one last year) was not welcome. Had we been informed that it had been removed, we may not have booked the cottage (Lyme has no shortage of suitable places to stay). A family holiday let without washing facilities is an oddity.

Really lovely cottage with everything you need.

After damp walks around Lyme Regis it was great to come back to a fire and cosy house. Would book again.

Need to supply more bin liners.

two for a weeks stay is not sufficient

This is our second visit to seagull cottage and we have already booked in our third.

It's in a brilliant location, walking distance to shops and beach and the addition of the parking is like gold dust. The cottage is a real home from home with everything you could need during your stay. Launderette is a one minute walk across the car park. Would just like to mention that the shower over bath was draining very slowly so might need some attention but otherwise all perfect.

Great property.

Parking only for 1 car not the two described - I think you could, just, get two Fiat 500's in the space with much manoevering. But who arrives in 2 Fiat 500's. Difficult to get in and out with the single car - and I have a small car. Otherwise we much liked Seagull Cottage. Sykes are aweful. It took them the better part of 15 minutes hanging on the phone before they could manage to let me give them £250 for an extra 2 nights. I had given up but in the end I rang again Lyme Bay Holidays and they sorted it out. By contrast with Sykes the folk at Lyme Bay Holidays (Millie) were excellent. We shall never book a holiday with Sykes.

Lovely cottage with all facilities.

For owner: Two door keys are required. Not everyone wants to place key in combination box if guests are returning at different times. As mentioned by other visitors would be better with footstool for better relaxation. TV is difficult to navigate - could not find instructions. Would be helpful if both switches on wall for cooker were indicated- One says cooker and if activated the cooker does not work -you need to switch on the other, un-labelled switch too.

Seagull cottage is tucked away just off Church Street.

Excellent location! Just a small stroll into Lyme Regis with two parking spaces, which was very useful. The cottage was extremely clean and welcoming we felt at home immediately. Two bathrooms were ideal for our party and the small courtyard garden was perfectly safe for both of our dogs too. We have been to Lyme Regis on many occasions and would happily return to Seagull in the future

Really nice property five minutes walk from the beach.

Great base for either staying in the town or for exploring further afield as you don’t have to go through the town to get to the main road out of Lyme Regis. Parking for two cars a real benefit and a secure back garden really handy if you have dogs or small children. Very well equipped and very comfortable, definitely recommend.

Fabulous accommodation and spotlessly clean.

Only downside was that the washing machine had been removed and replaced with a dish washer!

Brilliant property.

Very comfortable beds. Only suggestion is a washing machine. We saw one in the photos and would have liked one as we had sailing gear each day

Absolutely lovely, had a wonderful stay.

The cottage is in a perfect location!

Great cottage in the heart of Lyme Regis.

Definitely booking for next year!!

Nice comfortable cottage although bedrooms are on the cosy side.

Well equipped could do with a carpet sweeper to enable a quick whisk round to keep things tidy. Garden sparse but understandable as it gets very hot in the sun. Lyme Regis is lovely with plenty of places to eat out but beware traffic in the town is very busy, pavements are narrow and there are some very steep streets. Parking on site is a great bonus as there is no nearby car parks or on street parking.

Seagull Cottage is perfection 100% in every way.

No improvments needed BLISS. Trudy

Absolutely loved this cottage.

Very well equiped and very clean and fresh. Fabulous welcome pack with everything we needed on the day of arrival. Brilliant location in Lyme Regis with it's own parking and close to the sea front. The downstairs wet room was so useful when returning from the beach with sandy wet dogs. Will certainly look to book again if I return to Lyme one day.

A great cottage with ideal location so close to town and yet quiet with a West facing sheltered back garden.

No washing machine or tumble dryer, however the launderette is a few metres away. Why oh Why is Lyme Bay Holidays not offering travel cots and travel high chairs as a rentable additional extra?

Cottage was comfortable and well equipped.

Excellent location great to have parking. In terms of improvement, the garden area is not very attractive and would benefit from decent and comfortable garden furniture and possibly a BBQ.

A dish washer would be really useful

We've had a most enjoyable stay at the cottage.

We certainly approve of the upgrades to the kitchen, bathroom, and addition of the wet room. We are the original owners of Seagull Cottage- we named it, and in fact still have the model of the seagull that sat proudly in the front window. Sadly, we had to sell it in 2005 but never thought we'd be able to return. So much has passed in 17 years, but we are delighted to be able to return home, albeit for a couple of days. We have already booked for a longer stay next year, we are so grateful to stay again. Thank you for the welcome goodie bag, a nice touch.

3 ladies & 2 dogs enjoyed our stay at this lovely cottage, very much.

Location is perfect! Cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Thank you so much!

We have had a lovely long weekend here- and the sun was shining for an added bonus!

Lovely strolls along the promenade and Cobb, fossil hunting in Charmouth and a nice poke around the shops. Thoroughly recommend Strawberry Tree for yummy tapas! And this lovely house.

We've had a lovely family holiday.

Great location and lots of activities completed, all without moving the car. We had a great time in the rock pools, looking for fossils, having a dip in the sea, and the obligatory pint(s!) in the brewery! Baby Millie even started walking... so a holiday we'll never forget!!
