Lovely cottage.

Well equipped and comfortable tor six people. Amazing location so close to beach easy 3 minute walk , Nice cafe to have coffee over looking the sea. If you had a Larger group the two cottages next to each other a bonus. Nice tucked away quite Location even though so close to beach . Would definitely recommend and hopefully going again .

There was nothing lacking in the bungalow.

Everything was as described. One minor point other people mentioned, could be nice to have condiments available. Would recommend this property.

Serendipity is great accommodation for my family.

It is in a nice quiet location and is always clean and tidy. It has 2 fridges which is handy. It is well equipped.

Serendipity is a lovely house.

It is spacious; clean; peaceful; very well equipped and only a 3 minute walk from Colwell Bay. There were a couple of minor issues, but the owner was very helpful when I contacted her. We thoroughly enjoyed our week’s stay.

Location wise Serendipity was great, close to the beach, shops close by, walks close by too.

The property was OK. When we arrived it felt like the property had not been occupied for a few weeks due to the level of dust on the window sills and on hand soap bottle in the kitchen. There were several times during the stay that we could smell a real drainage smell which was not nice. The old picnic bench in the garden was not nice to look at so might what to remove that. The fridge in the kitchen had sellotape on the door holding the bottle/milk tray in the door up, which didnt look like it would hold, as well as the fridge didnt get cold enough. I had a play with the dials but nothing worked and the butter just melted, therefore we used the fridge located in the conservatory which did work. Cleaning products were minimal which is fine but the ones that were there (i.e. bleach and toilet cleaner) they were empty so purchased my own. But we did have a lovely holiday just the small touches would have made it better. Just felt like the property needed a little TLC.

We needed accommodation for an elderly relative who has accessibility issues.

The ground floor bedroom and bathroom were ideal, the whole house was beautifully presented and clean, perfect for our needs. The house has everything anyone could need and more, in a quiet cul de sac only a short walk from the beach. The only minor way it could be improved is if it had a ramp to the front door rather than steps.

Property well located.

Lovely walks along Colwell Bay and lucky to see some amazing sunsets - well worth a walk to beach after 9.00pm. Couldn't use garden furniture at property as requires a very good clean - no shade in garden so useful to have a garden umbrella. Freshwater Bay and Yarmouth areas seem best part of the island. TV at property has limited channels for some reason - no BBC2 or Channel 4. Property in a nice quiet residential area and easy walk to shops in Freshwater. Garden at rear needs some TLC to make it more enjoyable.

Another great holiday in Serendipity.

Close to Colewell Bay for beach walks and sunset. Owners let us in earlier which was great. On the whole a great little place for a relaxing holiday.

An excellent cottage in a beautiful area.

The description on your site was accurate and clear. It was comfortable, warm when we arrived, well equipped and very clean for the four of us. This was our first visit to the Isle of Wight at the age of 83 and it is a wonderful place that felt like home.

This was a lovely clean and well maintained property fully equipped with all you would need.

Wife found the bed a bit lumpy and had to sleep in one of the single beds. Would not hesitate to stay again and hope to when the weather is warmer.

Great location, close to the sea, and cliff top walks.

Our 4 year old granddaughter felt at home. We had a visit from the garden maintenance guys, who we welcomed in, it only took a few minutes. Even the bins were put out for us the night before the bin men were due, we never saw who did this for us, nice touch though. Everything you need is catered for at Serendipity. A really quite location in a cul-de-sac. Not far to walk to the local shops in the town.

The Property on arrival was immaculate and some 300 yds from the child friendly beach.

We had an initial problem in that we could not find any operating instructions for the Gas Cooker/Grill.. However, contact with the owner soon resolved the problem and we found communication with her easy and efficient..

Great cottage, genuinely 3 minutes from the beach.

It is a lovely cottage in an ideal place for those who want closeness to a beach with facilities including cafes/restaurant and access to walking such as the coastal path.

It has parking for 2 cars. The owner responded quickly to a couple of problems - thank you. For us, 3 sisters in our 70’s, one of whom was significantly disabled, it had some problems. We had chosen it because there was a downstairs bedroom. The lounge seating was not comfortable for two of us (too low); there were no grabrails in the bathroom, including in the shower and the floor was very shiny and slippery. We did make it work for us, so we enjoyed our stay.

We had an amazing time and the short walk, even with a three year old, to the beach was easily accomplished. The spacious accommodation is beautifully set out and more than adequately furnished and equipped. We would definitely recommend and visit again in the future. For great days out with a toddler we can recommend Mottistone Gardens (NT) for a day out - lots of lovely places to explore. Rock pooling at Freshwater Bay and sandcastles at Colwell Bay. The Dinosaur museum at Sandown is great on a rainy day as is the nearby pier.

Excellent accommodation!

Has everything you require and more. Large three bed chalet bungalow, all to a high standard. Bathroom with a separate shower, single toilet upstairs, large kitchen and lounge, conservatory and back garden with table and chairs if the weather is nice enough. Loads of kitchen equipment, dishwasher, freezer, even a washing machine. The property is located in a quiet cul-de-sac with own parking space. Colwyn Bay a two minute walk away and you can easily access all of the Island from here.

Lovely house within 1 mins walk from the seafront.

Spotlessly clean and comfortable our family spent a lovely Christmas here this year. The hosts were fantastic and catered for our every need.

Immaculate cottage and everything we needed. Really good location as we were able to walk to the beach in 4 mins.

It was really great thank you only problem you could not turn the heating on yourself as it gets cold of an evening apart from that we enjoy it

We had a lovely stay.

The cottage was clean and comfortable with all the facilities we needed including highchair and travel cot. Perfect location and perfect accommodation for a family with children. Parking on the doorstep was really useful. Owner so helpful. We will definitely be looking to return.

We had a wonderful 3 nights stay in this lovely 3 bedroom house.

We felt like our 2nd home. On entering the house, me and my wife both uttered “WOW”… it had been spotlessly clean, had everything we need. Great communication from the owner Terry-Ann with some great recommendations about the walks. The house is situated just 5 mins away by foot from Colwell Bay where we had our relaxing morning walk with sea waves splashing on to us. Tennyson Down, Needles Point, Alum Bay, Totland Bay, Compton Bay are not far off. We will definitely recommend this to others and also will come back in future.

A very well equipped cottage.

Extremely clean bright and plenty of room. The heating came on just when it was needed.The owner was so helpful. A great peaceful location less than a 5 minute walk from Colwell bay. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the locality and rest of Island. Would highly recommend. Thank you Terry Ann.

The property was well thought out and had everything you could need.

It was really close to the beach and we all had a great time there. The are quite a few things to do in the area, such as the Needles and Fort Victoria, but it was just as easy to visit places further afield from the property too. There was a minor issue with a faulty appliance but the owner tried their best to sort this out for us ASAP. The owner was very nice and helpful. The only problem we had was the amount of bedding and cushions with duck feathers, these are not great for people with allergies. We also found the master bedroom mattress extremely hard so had to improvise our own mattress topper with the duvet. Overall, we loved our stay and would return in the future. Thanks for a great holiday.

We had an absolutely wounderful holiday, the house was beautiful, well situatied for needs, very well stocked, loved it.

Well equipped, comfortable and spacious cottage perfect for a family with young children.

Really close to the beach and within a sensible walking distance of a good park as well as shops and cafes. Useful to have the conservatory for storage however would have used it more as a space to relax in if we'd visited in the summer months with longer, warmer evenings. Nice touch to provide the Nespresso machine with a selection of pods and a cafetiere with filter coffee packs. Will definitely be visiting again in the future.

Garden needs an umbrella The smaller bedroom upstairs could not accommodate the cot which meant it had to go in the larger of the 2 bedrooms which was unsatisfactory

The worst disaster possible with a rental cottage!

We were able to get in initially but not easily, unpacked all our belongings into the cottage then went out, only to come back and be unable to gain entry. Neither key worked. We phoned the owner twice and left messages, tried to phone Sykes for help but your phone number isn't evident on the website!! Please put it somewhere easy to find. After 40 minutes of persistence with both keys we finally managed to gain entry. Phoned owner again and left another message. She rang back later and arranged for the door fitter to call the next day. He arrived and oiled the mechanism and told us the opening instructions given to us by the owner would result in the door lock mechanism jamming. I passed this information onto the owner together with the correct instructions for opening of the door by email. The situation was resolved but our holiday was spoilt as our nerves were shattered and we no longer had any confidence in our ability to re enter the property. We certainly would never return this property or its neighbour with similar locks.

This was our second stay at Serendipity and it will not be the last.

We have already booked two weeks in August 2020. We have been delighted by the cottage. It is well appointed and suits our requirements perfectly. Our two grandsons spend six days with us during our first week at Serendipity and we are joined by our daughter for the last two or three nights of their stay so that she can take them back with her (she parks her car in Portsmouth close to the ferry terminal). This leaves just the two of us for the remainder of the holiday to chill out and take advantage of what West Wight has to offer. The West Wight Sports Centre is well used.

For a beach holiday, the location was superb.

The house itself is extremely well equipped, tidy, clean and comfortable. The owner could not have been more pleasant and helpful All in all, an excellent holiday

The cottage is situated very close to Colwell beach which allows you to go swimming and walking very easily.

The Needles are a must-see!! Serendipity is a very modernly equipped cottage where you can find everything you need. It is very clean and the beds are nicely decorated.

Brilliant the cottage was absolutely gorgeous really exceeded all our expectations and would very highly recommend this property.
