Description

Flat 1, St Agnes House is one of 4 apartments located in a Grade 2 listed building located in the centre of Lyme Regis, a picturesque seaside town in Dorset. Situated on the ground floor, this one-bedroomed apartment can welcome up to four guests and three dogs, so is ideal for couples or small families, using the sofa bed. An off-road parking space for one small/medium sized car at the front of the building is a bonus in this part of the town.

From the entrance hall, you enter into the lounge with double sofa bed, smart TV and electric coal effect fireplace – perfect for the chillier evenings. Two steps lead from the lounge to the kitchen diner, a bright room overlooking the rear garden. The bedroom is a spacious room with king-size bed and high ceilings typical of properties of this age. The bathroom at the rear of the property, has a bathroom with shower over and heated towel rail, with a separate WC. Outside, the apartment has a spacious rear walled garden, perfectly situated to enjoy a spot of alfresco dining or for sitting in the sunshine with a book and a cold drink. A welcome pack for your arrival ensures a great start to your holiday and will include milk, tea and a selection of locally sourced produce and treats.

Located in the heart of Lyme Regis, the apartment has all amenities including shops, restaurants and eateries close to hand. The nearby Langmoor gardens offers a scenic walk to the seafront and family friendly beaches, enjoying far reaching coastal views along the way. Take a stroll around the famous Cobb harbour, home to many TV and film adaptations and a trip to the seaside isn’t complete without sampling fish and chips from one of the takeaways or pubs located on the seafront. When it comes to enjoying a day out, why not take a trip to the Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth, home to hundreds of donkeys, with dog friendly trails to be explored (kept on leads) and open all year round. Other popular days out include Seaton where you can take a picturesque tram ride along the river Axe estuary through nature reserves to Colyford and Colyton.

Flat 1, St Agnes House is a lovely holiday apartment, offering so much to see and do, making it a great base for a holiday at any time of the year.

Fabulous location and even better with the garden and parking spot.

Previous reviews say garden was overgrown. It wasn’t. I presume the previous reviewers have astroturf!! My dogs and son spent hours in the garden. We loved the swing seat. It’s nice and quiet despite being right in the town centre. Again previous reviews say the flat is dated and dark. If you open the curtains it isn’t. The feel of the flat is traditional cottage and I think if you are looking for fancy mod cons with an ikea style then perhaps it’s not the right place for you. But the amenities were satisfactory for us and I cooked most meals at the flat. However The TV and internet were dreadful. The WiFi barely works and the TV feels like it’s from 1952. I also had very limited phone signal so From the time we spent in the flat we played a lot of the games provided and we read books. The bed is LUSH and so comfy and my son slept on the sofa bed and had no complaints at all. We got very little noise and disturbance from the flats above despite them both being occupied. I was worried that out of season the town might be a bit quiet but it was still bustling with lots going on for entertainment.

The property is in a great location so close to the town and the garden and parking space are a real bonus.

Its cosy and comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped but not as clean as I would have liked. The Wifi is unreliable and very slow when it does work. The flat feels a bit tired and uncared for, with notes on things saying "this is not in use".

The garden area was unkempt and overgrown, although the Dogs loved it!

There was a need for some extra maintenance throughout. The wi-first is extremely patchy, including days without! On a plus note, the bedroom is comfortably large, with ample storage space. Everything is provided, and all on one level. The welcome pack is a lovely touch, and parking right outside. Despite the negatives, we had an enjoyable, comfy stay.
