Choose to gather together in the spacious sitting room and toast to a marvellous holiday with the woodburning stove offering an extra sense of comfort in the cooler months, or break off into separate groups and relax into one of the plush sofas in the open-plan living spaces. The flexible bedroom layouts across the cottages make sleeping arrangements easy to organise and there is a large comfortable seating area in Rose Cottage where you can all gather for relaxing evenings indoors when you’re not exploring the excitement of Dorset. Offering a games room too with table football and table tennis, the cottages provide hours of fun for all ages. Be sure to make the most of your outdoor space, where the little ones and your canine companions can play freely as you enjoy alfresco dining in the form of a barbecue in the summer months. Newfield Holiday Cottages sits in the middle of the countryside and is walking distance from an excellent Farm Shop and a couple of local pubs serving great food, offering everything you could possibly need just a scenic stroll away. Although the dwelling is set in a rural location, you and your group will enjoy making the most of the walking and cycling routes without using the car, with the Dorset AONB and the Cranborne Chase AONB within easy reach providing enchanting landscapes and an abundance of nature to uncover. Dorset is famous for its beautiful Jurassic Coast which is within easy reach for a day trip to the seaside, as well as the cottages benefiting from being very close to the National Trust gem of Kingston Lacy House and Gardens which has many activities for children and adults alike with play areas and a great walking/cycling trail.
Both Bath and Salisbury are within range for a day out shopping and Blandford Forum has some lovely little independent shops and cafés. Newfield Farm Cottages is a wondrous base from which to explore the delights of Dorset on your family getaway

What guests are saying
Overall the property was a great space to socialise with a large group of friends/family.
There was a fridge big enough to accommodate all of the food and two dishwashers which was very useful. There was a good sized range for cooking plus the bbq’s outside. The beds were very comfortable and everyone slept well and most were superking beds. We had a hot full roast meal delivered on one of our evenings from The Anvil which was brilliant. However all of the furniture was old and shabby. There were scuffs on the chest of drawers snd stains on the lounge area sofas. There were not enough tumbler glasses and not enough sets of other glasses either. There was mismatched cutlery which was not good quality. There were a lot of trip hazards in the main kitchen/dining area due to the wooden flooring thresholds in the middle of walking spaces. A few of our party commented on the dirty extractor fans and also at least two of the showers did not drain quickly as the filters needed cleaning. We also had to clean the filters on the dishwashers when we arrived which were very dirty with previous occupants food. It would have been nice for more large rugs around the property and next to the beds for comfort and to soften the noise in the main entertaining/dining space. The heating in the 1 bedroom cottage barely worked so it was quite cold. Also the flooring upstairs was in very poor condition under the carpet and very noisy when walking around. The owners got a lot right in the property but some things which let it down as we have mentioned above . The other thing worth mentioning is, when enquiring about changing our booking date, after several weeks the owner had not responded to repeated requests from Sykes about this. This was very stressful at the time, so in the end we never got to change the date. Sykes do not give out landlords details until full payment. This was totally unacceptable. Despite all the problems we had a great fun week together at the property and with some adjustments from the owners it would have been 5 star.
We had a fantastic time at Newfield Farm Cottages!
The location was brilliant, with stunning views and a great host! We visited with family and got married in Wimborne Minster on the Saturday…Anna was amazing at trying to accommodate all of our requests! The homemade supper was well worth it! The brownie and ice cream went down very well! An amazing break, thank you so much
We had such a great weekend at Newfield Farm Cottages.
The cottages were beatiful and well set up for a big group/family, with ample facilities to cook in together and enjoy fun evenings of food, drinks, games and even some dancing. The outdoor spaces and games room were a great addition, and the local walks were lovely - helped by the fantastic weather, we had a really brilliant weekend. Thank you so much.
