What guests are saying
This property is in a superb setting in Weymouth.
First appearances are off putting - the exterior needs painting. The house was very clean, bathrooms, bed linen, kitchen equipment, outside space & views all excellent. However the whole house is very shabby, dimly lit & only 2 bedrooms had a mirror. The downstairs bedroom & bathroom were unusable due to the overwhelming smell of damp & had we been a party of 10 which is how the property is described, there would have been a problem. After rain one night, the bathroom floor was flooded & quite dangerous, we took some time to clean it up. Likewise comfortable seating in the sitting room is not enough for 10, and only one set of door keys isn’t practical for a large group. The owners are aware of the problem in the bathroom as it is mentioned in the house description, we just didn’t think it would be so bad & something should be done before there is a serious accident.
The boat house was a lovely property in a great location.
It was easy to find and the parking just a short walk away. Crabbing could be done outside the front door and lots of interest watching people walk past and the big lifeboat that was moored a few steps away. The property was quite clean and the upper 2 floors had a great lounge and 4 lovely bedrooms (2 en-suite). On the ground floor the dining room had a table big enough to fit 10 people and had a view out to the harbour. Very nice room. A very nice welcome pack there when we arrived, tea, coffee, biscuits and some breakfast cereals plus a small cleaning pack - very thoughtful of the owners The bedroom on the ground floor was more ‘functional’ than the others bud the bed was very comfortable and a bathroom next door. I had been looking forward to a bath but it was too deep for me to get in/out of and I’m not sure the water supply to it was working. Shower floor very slippery so had to put a towel down. Access to garden is up 5 or 6 stone steps and no hand rail. It just about worked for us but would not be suitable for very small children, frail elderly or disabled. The garden is a lovely place to sit and enjoy a drink or cuppa. We had a lovely stay at the Boat House and would definitely go back.
Fantastic!
Just want we wanted! Perfect location and size for our group. The living room on the second floor was idea and nice to be separate from the ground floor. Rooms were very spacious and great with separate bathrooms for us all! Kitchen was a good size and was everything we needed. Only small comment that some of the walls and areas looked a bit tired and around the home it could do with a touch of paint and refresh! We loved our stay here!
