What guests are saying
Lovely quiet property, throughly enjoyed staying here.
Will definitely stay again in the near future. Many thanks
This was our second visit to The Nightingale and we enjoyed it as much as the first.
The house was clean and comfortable and the location was perfect for the town and harbour. Having a secure garden was great for our dog as was a private drive to leave the car. The only two minor negatives were that the mattress could do with replacing as its lost its support ( even with the topper) and at times there appeared to be an overwhelming smell of garlic in the living room! That said we will most definitely stay again.
On first approaching the property, looked good, after entering everything was ok until we went upstairs the toilet was filthy on the outside, we had to clean around the toilet before we could use it.
Also the extractor fan in the bathroom did not work. The property was well equipped although again we had to clean the frying pan before we used it. Also there was a strong smell of garlic coming from the furniture which remained strong throughout the our stay, we had to buy some febreze to try to remove the smell. The beds we found somewhat uncomfortable. The property location is perfect, there is a field to walk the dog 5 minutes walk away the views from there are superb, views of Portland Harbour & Nothe Fort.
