Sandstones

We had a lovely 5 night stay in Sandstones .

A stunning apartment and beautiful location for days spent enjoying the balcony views and short local beach walks. We chose sandstones for its location as my Disabled father needed somewhere to stay with a good view , somehere to relax and need to go racing about. We cooked in most evenings and the kitchen was well equipped to enjoy local fish and farm shop delights bought locally. We had a few issues with the heated towel rail blowing the electrics one evening but was resolved quickly by Lyme bay accommodation support and a full power grid shutdown one afternoon which proved a little difficult getting my father back up to the apartment as no access to lifts and through the locked doors from the car park . This was resolved reasonably quickly and we were able to enjoy the evening with power again. Generally a great holiday with a few minor hiccups which were resolved quickly and didn't spoil our enjoyment of Sandstones.

Absolutely adored our accommodation at Sandstones.

The apartment itself had everything we needed and was very comfortable. However, for us, the view was the real selling point! Unbelievably beautiful! We will definitely be coming back as soon as we can.

The information given, from the car park go to the door in front of you and enter code, is incorrect, however as we found out with help, you actually leave the car park and find the door outside which incorporates your flat number and enter door code.

As we arrived in the dark and tried unsuccessfully many times to open as instructed it was not a great start. We had a call the next day to see everything was okay from Sykes, we did say that the radiator in the main bathroom was not working and the lady who phoned us did state they could get it fixed for us, but we decided, as it was Christmas Eve, to leave it but good customer service. All in it was a lovely apartment all you need, and brilliant position and views. Welcome pack on arrival and Christmas tree in the room. At some point the apartment needs maintenance but would definitely have this apartment again.

The bathroom door handle was broken but was fixed promptly.

The plinth under the dishwasher needs adjusting, as it fell off as soon as the dishwasher door was opened. We couldn’t access the stairwell and lift from the underground car park because the code provided didn’t work. Otherwise, everything was perfect—lovely and warm, with a well-equipped kitchen. The property was very clean, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

The property was amazing.

The only issue we had was we couldn’t gain access from the front of the property only the rear. I suspect that there is an issue with the security panel

While we found the property as advertised we do have one or two issues .

We couldn't get hold of any one to help out with a couple of things which was VERY frustrating . The other thing was the toilet seat in the ensuite was disguising .It wouldn't take much to replace it .It obviously can't be cleaned !! Also , it would be a good idea to supply a folding stool in the kitchen as all the pans were VERY high and couldn't be reached , my husband being taller than me had to take the pans down . The area was so pleasant with many places to eat etc .

Another restful week Great just to watch the world go by Things haven't changed over the years (think this is our tenth visit) One thing couldn't find the" walk in shower" found a shower cubicle

Fourth time at this apartment and another brilliant stay.

The apartment is in an excellent position with lovely views of the harbour. Very clean, lovely complimentary welcome pack. The balcony chairs are a bit hard but we bring our own camping chairs to sit out on. The artificial plants on the balcony are a good idea but they need to be upgraded and the oven tray needs to be replaced. But apart from that it’s probably the best apartment we’ve stayed in in West Bay. Thanks

Great view, close to everything, so well equipped and spotlessly clean. Will be back again

After 20 years of visiting Sandstones, it is still an great property kept in excellent condition.

We will be back. We need to mention the access; we could not get into the carpark ( some kind soul let us in ) and then we could only get into building using the tradesmen button. For years, we always had to press the key symbol, then a number and the key symbol again as stated in your instructions. The new looking key pads do not have a key symbol. Once we got the apartment key we were able to use in for the buildings doors as well.

.with a fab view. Perhaps you could mention that a small to medium size car is practical for the underground car parking space. Also, perhaps a mention too that the car park is underground. Thank you.

A lovely apartment in a fantastic location.

The apartment is spacious and overlooks the harbour just a short walk from the town, beach and iconic cliffs. There is parking onsite and a lift to access the apartment. The open plan kitchen/living areas has quite bright red sofas, a TV, Table plus bookshelf and a HiFi. The kitchen has plenty of plates and pans plus oven, toaster etc. however it is also near to a multitude of restaurants and snack bars/cafes. The bedrooms are comfortable with a double en suite and Twin Bedroom plus a separate bathroom. The whole apartment was clean and tidy and we have a fantastic short break both within the town and also using it as a base to explore Dorset. Thank you for a great break!

The ensuite shower drain needs cleaning out properly; we had to do it because it was overflowing, but then still very slow to drain.

Security is very poor, they still use the same key numbers, for many years years. The main entrance keypad is still broken and now has a sign on it instructing people to use the tradesman button. It's about time that there were 2 keys: it can't be good to advise people to leave the flat key by the door. One of the sofas has a tear that is getting longer, needs repairing. The flowers on the balcony, once a nice touch, are now long overdue to be replaced. There is grass growing on the balcony. The exterior of the apartments long overdue painting and looks tatty. It now longer has such a wow factor and doesn't warrant the cost.

What a great apartment!

It is comfortable, spacious, clean, very well equipped and overlooks the busy harbour where there is always something going on. The Welcome Pack was a pleasant surprise and much appreciated. We had a lovely week (despite the weather) and look forward to returning next year.

Beautiful app in outstanding location in West bay.

A return visit for us. Can't rate this highly enough. Minor criticism found the sofas too low for us oldies! We'll definitely be back.

Only that the windows could be cleaned better the cleaning that had been attempted had left them smeared Nice to see the kitchen units had been refurbished Would have been nice to have outdoor chairs on the rear balcony rather than carrying them through from the front

The apartment was very comfortable and easy to stay in - perfectly located with lovely views.

Yet another great holiday, thank you, due to the flat, location and facilities.

However, there is one annoying problem: the key pad on the block entrance: the car park side is not responding correctly; and is very difficult to gain entry. The “1” key is the problem, using a mobility scooter takes away the option to use the other door. We weren’t aware of this problem last September.

Great location, silly things, lights in en suite blown, only plays radio 2 on radio Remote needs batteries, dimmer switch on kitchen units u/s.

large bed mattress needs turning and a four slice toaster would round things of nicely.Those things aside great place to stay and if the owners want me to pop down for a free weekend, I’ll rectify the niggles and chuck in a toaster.

Have stayed at Sandbanks over a number of years and feel it’s about time the red furniture was changed as it has become uncomfortable over time.

Other than that, it’s a lovely apartment. Rather concerned though, that on arrival one of the four balcony chairs was unusable due to a broken leg. That was DANGEROUS. No warning was given - and this is why I have not given my usual 5 stars.

As usual the whole experience was of a very high standard.

The kitchen and floors looked better for the make over. The en-suite was suffering with lights not working. Both bedroom balcony door keys need lubricants. Just observations not complaints.

Beautiful immaculate apartment.

Extremely clean to high standard. Excellent location with views over West Bay. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Few minor niggles; toilet roll holders floppy, door locks a bit stiff especially in small bedroom,parking space only suitable for small family car. Would happily stay at this appointment again.

This is our second stay and again we loved it.

The apartment was extremely well furnished with every thing you would need on holiday. The view from the balcony was amazing and watching all the boats was really entertaining. You are spoilt for choice with places to eat within a short walk, hence we didn’t cook much!! The Jurassic bus routes were an experience and very handy. The beaches were lovely with great walks. We really had a great week at Sandstones.

A lovely, spotless and spacious apartment with the most fantastic views from the balcony.

The welcome pack was a lovely surprise and very well received. Ideal location, couldn't fault a thing. Plenty of places to eat and drink, also enjoyed the boat trips along the coast. Highly recommended and looking forward to returning

The property was spacious and clean but the parking facilities were poor and the following issues in the apartment were found on arrival.

The toilet in the ensuite wouldn't flush, there were 2 large tears on one of the sofas in the lounge, 2 light bulbs in the table lamp weren't working. The beds were very uncomfortable. The views from the balcony were lovely but the locals racing up and down in their cars/bikes late at night ruined the holiday.

We enjoyed good weather during our stay at Sandstones.

Lovely views of the harbour, the east cliff and the sea from the balcony and sitting room. Well equipped kitchen. The double bed was comfortable, the bed in the twin room was a little too firm. Overall, I would recommend Sandstones and would consider returning. Chris & Maureen

We really enjoyed our stay.

The apartment is lovely, clean and comfortable. The view is fantastic from the balcony. I would just suggest that you need to renew the frying pans. But we will definitely be back!

An excellent apartment, clean and comfortable with great views.

As regular guests, we really appreciate that the apartment is maintained to such a high standard.

It’s a lovely apartment.

I’d definitely stay there again. But we felt like it could have felt cleaner (mopped floors) and for me the height of everything was just a little on the low side I.e. sinks, hands towel rails etc. Also the beds could have been more comfortable. Maybe it was the slacks underneath the bed being out of position or simply I’m used to memory foam. And the styling of the apartment definitely want to our tastes (like the red leather sofas) but overall my improvement suggestions are nit picking. It’s a lovely apartment, the location, view, facilities like the extendable table and the balcony are amazing.

Sandstones continues to be an excellent clean, comfortable and modern holiday apartment with all the facilities you need and a superb view of the Harbour.

We love coming back every year.

Not the first, nor the last time that we have stayed at Sandstones.

To say that it is idilic would not be overstating it. The level of facilities is excellent and the view incredible.

We have been visiting apartment for approx 10 years and are extremely happy wwith it.

The only drawback has been the use of only 1 let but we have managed.

Love the view. Would be useful to have spare bin bag and spare food waste bag. Toilets could have been better.
