Once again a brilliant stay.

Underground dedicated parking, lift to the apartment and fantastic views.

Lovely apartment and views over Westbay.

Comfortable clean and nicely furnished. The one thing that could be improved is the terrace furniture. Very old and going rusty . A bit more comfort outside would lovely. Apart from.that had a lovely 5 day break . Thankyou

We thought that the apartment was very well appointed and in an excellent location.

Everything was clean and well presented. The welcome pack was much appreciated. There are a few observations which we believe would improve the experience: 1. After a long day travelling to reach West Bay, we experienced some difficulty with the instructions to access the parking through the security gate. 2. In the en suite, the overhead shower operating valve was stuck and only the handheld shower head was usable. There was also a knob missing from the on/off valve for the handheld shower, which made turning it off with soapy hands almost impossible. 3. There were no non-slip mats present in either shower. 4. The design of the bed in the main bedroom was not ideal for the limited size of the room. The frame had wooden protrusions that required padding with towels and blankets to avoid injury.

We have visited this lovely apartment many times.

It suits us perfectly. The big double bed set into a wooden frame is lethal. The sharp corners are not obvious and we have many times been injured... Even though you know there's a hazard and to be careful. Our companion Lori has substantial mobility difficulties and sustained a nasty gash. However the apartment otherwise suits us well and her mobility buggy fits nicely in the lift.

Still a beautiful apartment with excellent views and parking.

This is a great property and one of the best we have stayed in at this complex.

The views are stunning, and the living area and kitchen are very well appointed. I found the Bed in the master too soft, and if we had stayed longer, the beds in the twin room would have suited me better. The chairs outside are well past their best - however, there were 4 additional plastic chairs provided. We also couldn't find the loungers listed, which was a shame as the terrace is wonderful. The shower control in the en-suite needs some maintenance, and the guest information needs updating i.e. there were no bags for us to leave the linens as instructed. These are very small points and we had a great time and have no problem recommending this apartment. If you get a chance, visit the Platform Restaurant.

The Penthouse in West Bay has always been my wife and my preferred choice for a peaceful week-long getaway in November, consistently delivering first-rate, 5-star luxury—exactly what one should expect for the price paid. Unfortunately, upon our arrival on Friday, November 22nd, we found the building covered in scaffolding. While this was less than ideal and we wished we had been informed when making the booking, we thought we could manage. What we found unacceptable was a group of loud workmen showing up right outside the balcony and terrace of the Penthouse at 8:30 in the morning, working on the wall render just inches from the windows. It quickly became clear that a private and tranquil week away was out of the question. As Lyme Bay Holidays could not provide an alternative property of similar caliber, we made the decision to leave for home immediately. Additionally, we typically purchase frozen foods for our stay and use the Penthouse freezer. Regrettably, either the previous occupant or an operative from Lyme Bay had turned off the freezer at the mains, and we only discovered this hours later when we found all the food had thawed and was spoiled. In conclusion, after numerous telephone calls to Lyme Bay Holidays (now operated by Sykes Cottages), we were able to secure a partial refund. However, since we had to cut our trip well short, it was clear we did not enjoy the week we had hoped for. To date, we have yet to receive any apology from either Lyme Bay Holidays or the property owners, which is particularly disappointing considering we are loyal customers and given the significant amount we spent

We were very disappointed with our holiday as there was scaffolding around the flat there were contractors carrying out redecorating to outside of the building so we had to keep curtains closed for our privacy Had we been informed we would have chosen another time or venue Also there are no grab rails in either bathrooms to support us as senior citizens to access bath or as a support in shower We were dissatisfied because we had put a lot time and effort into having the experience of what appeared to be nice adventure to have by booking the penthouse apartment

Fabulous location.

Every thing perfect with one glitch. Our stay was for 2 weeks, with each week booked separately. We booked the 2nd week on the condition that the place was cleaned after 7 days with the towels and linen changed after 7 days.My wife is recovering after a serious accident and is unable to do such tasks. I have a heart condition.. When I reminded Sykes of the condition I was given a message saying the would not clean or change the linen and was told I could find replacements in the wardrobe. Sykes make it impossible to contact them. If there was a mark for them I would give them zero. Robin Bradford

The flat was absolutely gorgeous - the views are amazing, and it was a really special stay.

Everything went so well, and even though the weather wasn't great it didn't matter because it's such a nice place to stay. The lift was good, underfloor heating made it a lovely even temperature, bathrooms great. Would highly recommend!

We had a bit of difficulty following initial instructions to get in .

Perhaps you could include pictures of the main door . We were pleased with the quality of the provisions -coffee/tea/buscuits but surprised there was no shower gel shampoo .

What a beautiful apartment! We were amazed by the equipment supplied, everything you would have in your own home, and in excellent condition. It was exceptionally clean and supplied with equipment to keep it that way. The views from the penthouse were breathtaking, from inside and out, and so much to take in! A holiday experience we will never forget!

The property was wonderful!

Spotlessly clean, very comfortable, in a great location and with superb views. It was spacious, with high ceilings and large rooms, apart from the smaller twin bedroom, which was still fine. We had engaging grandstand views of the harbour and sea, including the huge waves caused by the latest storm. We didn’t have a car but could walk from the door and use buses to explore and walk further afield. Everything worked well, and my only suggestion is that the owners buy a new visitors’ book and leave it out so these comments can be written in it!

The apartment has everything you need and more for a real home away from home holiday and the support staff at Lyme Bay Holidays are the best you can have if needed, friendly , caring and helpful. All in all a wonderful time was had by all and hopefully we will be back soon.

Well equipped and comfortable. This is our second visit to this apartment and we have already booked for later in the summer. Excellent.

A lovely few days the only criticism I have is that I couldn’t get the shower in the en suite hot enough Very comfortable with lovely views we also booked 2 Drift Wood for the rest of the family.

We scattered my husband’s ashes by drone over the sea early Saturday morning. It was my husband’s favourite place, he was born in Bridport so he’s back home

A stunning apartment which fully deserves a 5 star rating.

Wonderful scenic views from the balcony which encompasses the property (unfortunately weather was too chilly to take full advantage during our stay). We have booked again for next summer! Two areas may require some maintenance. 1). En suite window does not close and 2). One of the full size blinds in main living area does not unfold completely. Finally, have to mention that our apartment was cleaned to an exceptionally high standard. Well done! J Taylor

A lovely apartment with beautiful views.

Lots of space and very well equipped. Perfect for exploring the Jurassic coast and hunting for fossils, and walks along the coast path. Lovely choice of restaurants. We went to Rise and the Watch Point cafe. Both had lovely food and great service. The Station Kitchen looked amazing but it was fully booked!

A lovely apartment Noticed some new furniture since our last visit which was very stylish The towel rail in the bathroom with the bath in tripped the lights in the rooms off the corridor Just so you are aware of it We just switched the lever back on the board so it wasn't a problem It happened when we switched it on outside the bathroom door Also the shower head in the ensuite bathroom could do with descaling A lovely weekend was had by all!

Overall our stay was fabulous.

We did have terrible trouble with the key safe outside No. 25. It just wouldn't open. We happened to speak to a neighbour on the groundfloor, who said he'd had the same problem. Eventually it did open, even though we hadn't done anything different. Also, the far end blind in the living room was stuck and wouldn't close. The cables in many of the blinds were twisted and sometimes difficult to open/close, although they all did eventually. I wonder if the installer could do a maintenance visit from time to time. We found the long sofa somewhat uncomfortable as it seemed to slope. We dealt with this by putting several cushions on top. Maybe it needs serious plumping up or refilling. Please don't let these comments take away from the fact that the apartment is fabulous and it is great that the owners act upon receiving feedback. We would really like to come back, but believe a five night stay may not be possible next year, according to the website - minimum booking is a week. Is this the case?

I needed the penthouse to be covid cleaned as I have a illness it was spotless really imnpreessed .

As I spent all my time at the penthouse the views where fantastic we had lovely sunny days and it was warm my friends Mr and Mrs hellengs who came with us said it was the best place they had ever stayed. Really comfortable would recommend you as you where so helpful when we booked everything was as you said it would be thankful.

This was our 2nd stay and the wow factor was not diminished.

What a stunning property with a fantastic view of the harbour and coastline.

We were really lucky with the weather and made good use of the sun loungers and outside space! The lovely welcome goodie bag was much appreciated. Fantastic facilities and a great location to explore the Jurassic coast should you want to or simply enjoy time relaxing in West Bay.

The penthouse has wonderful views over the harbour which can’t be seen when sitting on the settee or chairs as they are so low - and hard!

The terrace at the side looks directly into two of the neighbouring flats so close that you can hold a conversation without raising your voice. The single bed swayed when sat on. Having said that the flat was clean well presented and a great TV 5 G reception on phone too!
