What guests are saying
Unfortunately not a great stay.
On arrival, the mixer tap flew off when the tap was turned on, drenching myself and the worktops. In one of the bedrooms the bedding hadn’t been changed from the previous guests. General housekeeping needs to be improved. In fairness to Sykes, they came out and fixed the tap and changed the bedding, however, we will not be returning.
Great location and easy to find.
The property is generous in it proportions with a comfortable bed for a good nights sleep. We sourced a few bits for the kitchen from the local charity shop, like a salad bowl and peeler, but we were happy to oblige. We had a great week, but must concede that a lick of paint would make this property top notch. We had no issues and everyone locally was so friendly. Check out The Galloway Larder opposite for its wine nights and also bistro evenings.
When we arrived there were crumbs all over the kitchen floor, it looked like the whole accommodation had briefly been cleaned.
One of the beds was broken and both the bed linen and the towels had stains on them. The toilet seat was loose and on its way out. We tried to contact the owner by phone but got no reply. We bought some new bed linen and cleaned the place. The property has a great location and has generous living accommodation, with a small amount of money spent and proper cleaning before guests it would get a good review.
