What guests are saying
This was our third visit to Port Donnel Cottage in Rockcliffe.
It is a most beautiful setting and we really enjoyed being there. However, it is quite expensive! I think the owners, the National Trust, should be reinvesting some of the money accrued into the property. It’s badly needing repainted, work done on the roses and the windows. Inside, it is very hard to use the oven as the temperature dials have disappeared. There are toilet roll holders needing replaced. The chair cushions in the dining room are a bit tatty. I could make a wee list! So basically spend a little money on the inside and probably a lot more outside to keep this super property up to standard.
Outside is a bit rough but so what, you don't sit in the garden looking back at the property when there is a magnificent beach in front of you.
Beds and bedding super quality. Log burner brilliant. Oh, just remembered - some condiments, salt, pepper, etc. and some oil to cook with would have helped
Agree with previous review, exterior of property in need of some attention.
