Words can't express how wonderful this place is!

There is literally nothing I'd improve on and the owners have thought of absolutely everything. Every finishing touch is immaculate, the styling, the comfort (beds to die for!) and the welcome back was just a step beyond. The location is epic. It provided a perfect location and facilities for a gentle paced holiday, a true relaxed atmosphere where you felt you didn't have to be anywhere or do anything just take life at the face you want. If you want face paced, an adventure driven, social or super adventurous holiday, then I'm sure other place would fit the bill better but this is just perfect, homely, chilled and tranquil. We will be back!

A lovely cottage in a fantastic location.

Really good communication from owner prior to arrival and during our stay. Excellent facilities, the owners have thought of everything. The views are wonderful. The cottage is comfortable and spotlessly clean. We hope to return.

Very well maintained and spotless. Has everything you could wish for to enhance your stay. The pre arrival infomation was superb and detailed and provided everything you could possibly need. Very highly recommended.

Beautifully decorated and excellent furnishings. Everything there that you could possibly want for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The upside down arrangement gives beautiful views of the shore and sunsets from the living quarters. Lots of things to see and do within easy reach as well. Hope to return next year.

Amazing views all day long followed by amazing sunsets. The owners have gone above and beyond. It literally is stunning. Would love to go back and will definitely recommend to family and friends.

Very well equipped and beautifully decorated. A suntrap garden with its own microclimate! Highly recommend it.

Westview, Portwilliam is one of the best cottages we have ever hired.

The view is ever changing, but constantly beautiful. The cottage is top class and yet maintains its coziness. A thoughtful welcome pack on arrival. However a small carton of milk would have been useful. The information pack on local activities, places to eat etc was definitely the best we have ever come across, as regular visitors to the area for many years, we even discovered some things to do we didn’t know about. This is a property we would visit again and recommend to others.

This is a beautifully designed, welcoming and well thought out cottage with attention to detail.

We really enjoyed gazing out of the window in the mornings, watching gannets diving for fish and oystercatchers plodding around the rocks on the shoreline. A quiet and comfortable retreat and an ideal base for touring around this part of Scotland with the Isle of Whithorn, Wigtown, the Mull of Galloway, Garlieston and Stranraer not too far.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay what a lovely cottage buy the sea, would highly recommend.

West View .

.... Well, what can I say? The owners have refurbished this fisherman's cottage to the highest standard. Decor, fixtures and fittings are to the highest standard. Even the bathrooms have the WOW! factor. Super comfy beds and beautiful spotless linen and towels. The kitchen is fully equipped. Even a welcome pack to get you started! Very thoughtful! Information for EVERYTHING in the cottage is on hand and there is lots of info about local sights, restaurants, supermarkets. The view from the lounge and kitchen window is just stunning. We've stayed at lots of Sykes cottages. This is head and shoulders above anywhere else we've stayed. If all others score a 10, this is a definite 11. We will be back! If you're thinking of buying a property to rent out, come and stay at West View to see how it should be done.

The cottage had everything needed great views very clean and the bed was so comfy would definitely encourage it.

A beautiful, tastefully furnished cottage.

It was very well maintained and spotless. It is obvious that a lot of thought has been put into the design of the property with the living area being on the first floor where you have stunning views over lovely Luce Bay.

Our stay at West View was fabulous, the design and layout of the property was excellent and refurbished with thought and to an exceptional standard.

From the upperlevel the views were ever-changing and fabulous regardless of weather conditions, and the outside area to the rear a little oasis of calm. We couldn't fault our visit.

A lovely week away at Westview Cottage in Port William.

The cottage had the most amazing views and it was beautiful to watch the sea throughout our stay. The cottage provided a 'home from home' feel. As a mam of two boys, I appreciated the washer and dryer as well as the welcome pack which was there on arrival. The owners' communication was excellent. If we were ever in the area again we would stay here. We would definitely recommend Westview Cottage.

Absolutely lovely house right on the beach.

Property was comfortable and beautifully maintained and the views from upstairs are stunning. The owners were super helpful and responsive, providing lots of pre stay info, a very comprehensive info pack and fixed the one small issue we had during our stay within hours. They also left a lovely welcome pack with bread, milk, biscuits etc. You will need to drive to get to most attractions e.g. forestry commission visitor centre, whiskey distillery store, highland cattle tractor ride but there's plenty of relaxing and interesting things to do in the area. Would definitely recommend a chilled break at Westview.

A wonderful cottage.

Very clean and has everything you need. The views across the bay are lovely and the sandy areas of the beach perfect for relaxing. Water is lovely. We enjoyed swimming in the sea which was very clear. The hosts provided a welcome pack. All in all a great week at Westview. Forgot to mention Port William is a nice little working port. The cafe in the village is very nice and welcoming. A great base for exploring the area. Thank you

The cottage has superb views over Luce Bay.

Port William is quiet , with a sandy beach when the tide goes out. Westview is very comfortable, thoughtfully equipped and well maintained. The small patio at the back is sheltered, with relaxed seating, a dining bench, apple trees and a bit of a sun trap! The owners have provided lots of helpful information about the area and are quick to resolve any issues. We'd love to go back!

This property is fabulous.

It's beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. It has everything you could ever need and more. Great communication with the owners. Fabulous views from the windows. Will definitely be back there soon.

Everything catered for, maximum comfort. Incredible views of sunsets over the sea. Peaceful, friendly and with easy access to the rest of the peninsula. Hope to come back in the future!

The cottage is beautiful!

Renovated to a high standard and beautifully decorated and appointed. We loved the upstairs/downstairs arrangement, with great views from the living area on the top floor. It also meant the bedrooms were cooler which is the way I like it. The beds were soooo comfortable too. It was a little cosy for 6 adults and a baby. It would be plenty big enough for a family with children. We will definitely be back.

The cottage is wonderful, bedrooms are spacious and soooo comfortable.

Every need catered for with real thought into what you would need to feel at home. Decor is fabulous too. The views from the living area are fantastic, you could lose hours watching the waves.

This is a lovely place to stay.

It is the best equipped holiday let we have stayed in and the owners have gone to great lengths to make sure every small detail is perfect. They are also just a text away and extremely helpful if you have queries of any sort. The house is just across the road from the shore so if you love the sea in all its moods it is definitely the place for you. Amazing rainbows and glorious sunsets. Lots to do in the surrounding area whether you are very active or just needing a relaxing place to be.

What a stunning cottage! So beautifully interior designed and so well equipped. My girls especially loved playing all the board games. Very peaceful location and lovely sea views. I would definitely recommend a stay at Westview for a relaxing luxury retreat

Absolutely fantastic cottage, so much thought has gone into the cottage, everything from the well stocked kitchen to the drinks station downstairs, the tasteful decor, festoon lights in the garden, the views from the upstairs living room and kitchen, the list goes on.

This cottage is stunning.

A beautiful recent refurb is tasteful and the owners have thought of everything. Very comfortable. Eating breakfast overlooking the shore and the Rhins of Galloway is fantastic. Lovely welcome pack too, as well as a few treats there are various walks and ideas of things to do. Brilliant - saved us lots of effort! This really is a superb base when exploring this part of Scotland.

All good quality furnishings everything that we required for a relaxing holiday, views fantastic couple beautiful sunsets, plenty of places to visit, nice apple crumble from apple tree, only downside kept forgetting about sloping ceilings and banging our heads.

What an amazing place.

The property really is 5* worthy - everything you need for a home away from home. Comfy beds, high quality furnishings. I could literally have spent every day gazing out of the window listening to the sea and watching the glorious sunsets. So much to do in the area. Owners are incredibly knowledgeable and great communication. Cannot wait to go back!

Perfect in every way.

This is a beautiful and practical reworking of a seafront cottage with extraordinary views. Everything provided. We have had cottages with not even a salt pot but this one even had dried oregano.
