When it's time to retire for the night, choose from two inviting bedrooms: a double with an en-suite featuring a basin and WC, and a twin room, both providing a peaceful spot to catch your rest.
A separate bathroom, complete with a bath, handheld shower, basin and WC, serves the bedrooms.
Local amenities are easily covered by Bradwell Community Shop and Post Office, which stocks a wide range of goods, while The Green Man and The Marina Bar are solid picks for a bite to eat.
History lovers won’t want to miss the ancient Chapel of St Peter-on-the-Wall, founded by St Cedd in 654, or the nearby Roman road and wall remnants.
Nature enthusiasts can visit the Essex Wildlife Trust and Bird Observatory on the sea wall, and even book a tour aboard Radio Caroline’s Ross Revenge during the summer months.

We really appreciate the comfortable charm of the Curry Farm cottage and the large enclosed garden which was deliciously shady in the heat of our visit this week.
The garden chairs were lovely to sit in whilst listening to the bird song and spotting the butterflies, bees and dragonflies flitting around the flowers. And then there is the large Curry Farm reserve to enjoy, which has a network of well-maintained paths to amble around, and much wildlife interest even in this drought. But for me it is the walk-in moth trap that is the big draw and spending time looking at the moths with Stephen, the owner, who has shown me so many that I had never seen before and is tremendously generous with his time. His expertise and passion for moths is second to none. That was our second visit to Curry Farm and we already know that there will be a third!
The property is the back half of a large farm house, the owners live in the front half, but you have fully privacy.
The kitchen is compact, but has everything you need. You get a massive fenced garden, with a separate rose garden that is beautifully maintained. The garden is full of mature trees that are home to a wide variety of birds including woodpeckers and an occasional squirrel, this kept the dog on his toes. We stayed during a heat wave and the main bedroom having two windows allowed a nice cool breeze. The large trees also provided plenty of shade so the dog could doze in the garden. Surrounding the garden is a nature reserve, this is the real selling point. The nature reserve is owned by the property owners and was orchards and a farm, but is now wood land a meadows. We were there in July and the woods and meadows were teaming with life. The array of butterflies and flowers was wonderful. We saw many deer, hares and rabbits, had a short glimpse of a fox and badger. We clocked up 2 miles on the GPS walking most of the perimeter of the reserve, but if you explore the inner paths as well you could go much further. There are footpaths from the cottage to the cost, about 1-1.5miles away linking onto the costal path. There are a couple of villages in walking distance with pubs a tiny local shops, but supermarkets are a 20-30 min drive away.
