Everything was supplied that was needed. The location was perfect. Could have done with more cupboard space for food. Also no wardrobe or place to hang clothes in second double bedroom. I would book it again and we enjoyed the holiday. Eriskay is a beautiful Island with lots of wild flowers and beautiful beaches. The weather was overcast and cold most days but we still managed out and about. Reviewed by SarahJul 2022 "Fantastic week at Conan Mara, lovely house ,well equipped spotlessly clean, very ..." View on map About the location ERISKAY, SOUTH UIST Lochboisdale 12 miles The village of Eriskay is found in the centre of the island of Eriskay which is located between South Uist and Barra. It is connected to South Uist by a causeway and is a delightful place to visit. It is known for being the site of ‘Whisky Galore!’ when in 1941 the SS Politician ran aground here carrying 28,000 cases of malt whisky. The wreck was looted by islanders who allegedly hid the whisky all over Eriskay and South Uist. With a population of around 200, it is a picturesque, hilly island. Prince’s Beach is well worth a visit while on Eriskay and is located on the west side of the island. It is thought to be where Bonnie Prince Charlie first set foot on Scottish soil and the Bonnie Prince Charlie trail is popular with visitors to the island. While you are in Eriskay you can stock up at the community shop and there is even a restaurant called Am Politican here where you can stop off and enjoy a delicious bite to eat. Note: Though electricity is included in the rent, electric for charging cars is not included in the rental. Note: Please bear in mind that this property is located on an island and therefore only accessible by plane or ferry.
