LOVELY accommodation.

Every need catered for, very clean. Comfort and warmth exceptional. Fantastic view out of the property... we even managed one afternoon in the sunny, warm garden. The weather did nothing to spoil the week. SPAR close by for any forgotten shopping. Even had mobile chip van on Friday night. Obviously being on the main road there was some noise, but it really didn't impact. One of the best rentals we have stayed in.

Craigard is a very comfortable, well-equipped cottage with everything you could need including a lovely welcome pack on arrival.

It is very well placed for touring the area and is only a few miles from Skye. Lovely view from the cottage. It is situated on a main road but noise was never a problem and there’s a well enclosed garden. The owner kindly popped in during the week to check we were happy with everything. Would definitely recommend.

An excellent place to stay and explore this stunning region Craigard was roomy, comfortable and had wonderful views.

Proximity to road was surprisingly not an issue as little road noise inside. We had a great time.

Lots of nice thoughtful touches. Handy for both Skye and Kintail. A note on how to get into Freesat on the tv would be helpful (Roddie showed me when he dropped in - basically hold down the top right button on the remote for much longer than you expect). Would happily stay again.

A very comfortable house with everything we needed for a great week's stay.

Craigard was in a outstandingly beautiful area overlooking the bay and mountains.

If you walked across the road you had a fantastic view of the Skye bridge. The cottage was comfortable and clean. The Spar shop was very handy and sold all the essentials and more. The mobile fish and chip van pulls into the layby opposite the cottage. The girls do a roaring trade. The fish and chips were delicious. Fridays serving from 5.30 till 7.30. Just go and explore the area both this side of the Skye bridge and Skye itself you won't be disappointed. The scenery is breathtakingly beautiful.

We had a great stay, everything you could possibly need was available at the cottage.

It was a nice touch to arrive to cakes and treats waiting for you! The cottage was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The location was fantastic for visiting nearby places and the view outside the cottage was stunning. Would highly recommend staying here and we may be back again in the future!

Lovely cosy cottsge everything we needed for our stay the only thing that would of made things easier was to have a dish washer but that isn't a manger problem.

A sweet family cottage overlooking Loch Alsh which was very comfortable.

It has everything you need. It was a very good base to explore all of the peninsula nearby, surrounding lochs and also drive over to Skye which takes only 20 minutes. There is a shop almost next door we could get everything. Bigger Shop 15min drive in Kyle. There are pubs and cafes not far away serving local seafood and a great Chinese in Kyle.

All that one needs. Fantastic location. God as a base for touring. Very comfortable and lovely welcome pack. A bonus to us being dog friendly as well. Looking forward to returning. Would highly recommend.

Lovely cottage in a great location with a beautiful view.

Craigard was comfortable and cosy and had everything we needed. There’s a well-stocked shop and hotel almost next door and a mobile fish and chip van came on Friday evening. Easy access to Lochalsh and Skye for exploring but away from the mass tourist spots. Only the weather could have improved our stay!

Warm and cosy with the fire lit. Ideally situated for exploring the local and wider area. Stunning sunset views towards Skye. Good dog walks on the Balmacara estate. The welcome pack was a nice touch.

A beautiful cottage in a great position with the most amazing view.

Beautiful hamper left for us again purchase 2nd trip we love this place and shall hopefully return again someday. Handy shop a few doors down and a hotel with a restaurant if you like. Only 40 minutes from Portree and all Skye has to offer. House is very.comfortablr with 2 open fires which was lovely.

Absolute gem of a property - stunning location, cosy, warm, comfortable, spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped.

With temperatures below zero we fully appreciated a glowing woodburner and a thoughtful stock of provisions, on arrival. It was immediately apparent that the owners wanted their guests to have a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

The fire was burning when we arrived and there was a welcome basket full of goodies, and a bottle of wine in the fridge. The cottage was immaculate and well equipped. Location was great with a woodland walk just down the road that the dogs loved. Would definitely return here and have already recommended to friends.

Second visit to this property, a real home from home.

As with last year fires were lit and there was a lovely tray of cake, mince pies, teapot etc to welcome us on arrival. The owners think of absolutely everything. Made more use of the Spa Shop this time where Christine was a mine of information! We are trying a different part of Scotland next year but this property sets a very high bar and no doubt we'll be back at some point in the future. I have no hesitation in highly recommending this property.

We arrived to a burning coal fire after a long, long journey, such thoughtfulness from the owners.

They also left torches in every room as a major storm was hitting that night, giving the possibility of power cut. House immaculately clean with everything we needed for a great holiday. Love this house.

Lovely holiday cottage with wonderful views over the Loch to Skye.

Great base for touring this area of the Highlands and easy access to Skye. The cottage is well cared for with all you would need. A short drive into Kyle has Hector's Bothy and Fisherman's Kitchen for good food. The well stocked Spar is a short walk from the cottage so no worries about buying any provisions. We had a wonderful stay!

The house was warm and comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped, and the welcome package was very kind. We’d definitely stay again.

It was absolutely lovely!

Cozy, clean and spacious for two adults and two teens and even snacks were laid out for our arrival. Everything was well provided for us, including a store near by! We had no idea the views would be so lovely and we enjoyed the heat of the coal fireplace our first night. My son enjoyed his morning runs up the local hills and we enjoyed hopping over to Skye to day trip. Thank you so much for taking such good care of our family on our first trip to Scotland. We hope to be back and would definately visit again!

Was spotless on arrival and a very generous welcome pack was provided. Plenty of scenic walks around the area. Provides easy access for exploring the local area and across to Skye. Highly recommended.

This was a lovely cottage with all amenities.

Craigard cottage was faultless.

It was warm clean and comfortable and ideally situated for getting around Skye and the Highlands. The log burner in the house had been lit prior to our arrival so the cottage had a real homely feel from the minute we walked through the door. Lovely dog walks to the rear of the cottage and a Costa coffee shop 50 yards away. What’s not to love. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay at your cottage.

From the moment the owner checked our arrival time so cottage would be warm for us to the time we left last Saturday everything was seamless.

A lovely welcome pack greeted us and I honestly don't think they'd missed a thing. I would highly recommend this property without hesitation. Hopefully they'll allow us back sometime!

This was our second stay at Craigard and we had an amazing week, in the warm, comfortable and spacious house.

The location was ideal for exploring Skye and the beautiful villages amd beaches on the west coast. The house has everything we needed and the local shop is well stocked for any supplies you forget at the supermarket. The loch opposite the house offers spectacular views especially at sunrise and sun set. Craigard will always be our go to place if we are visiting Skye or this area. Our two young children (9 & 4) adore the house and have asked to return next year.

A Beautiful, well equipped cottage in a stunning location.

Nice welcome pack of bread, milk, cakes and biscuits. Cosy but spacious and comfortable. Close to lots of places worth visiting. Would highly recommend to anyone wishing to visit the higlands.

The cottage felt very welcoming, not a sign of rules and regulations. The heating was very generous ( we had a chilly weeks weather) We loved the open fire in the sitting room, and found everything we needed in the kitchen and dining room. Lovely, clean and cosy cottage, plenty of space, excellent facilities, easy parking and perfect location to explore Skye and surrounding areas easily.

Owners have done a brilliant job and keen to make sure you have all you need. This was our second stay and if we visit again this cottage will be the first place we seek for our accommodation.

We made our booking at the last minute as we had to dodge bad weather where we live, to continue our holiday around the West Coast of Scotland.

We were more than pleased to arrive to find such a welcoming home----a home away from home. It was a perfect layout for an adult couple with a dog. We had a secure front garden that had the most spectacular sea views and views towards Skye. On my morning walks from the front door, all I had to do was to cross the road to be at the waterfront and further down, a pebble beach where I saw otters swimming. The bedding was good and comfortable, the lighting was good as well. Downstairs, we most enjoyed an open fire in the living room at night and a coal burner in the dining room which lead to the kitchen. Even as a cook, I found everything I needed to prepare meals from scratch. There isn't a large surface to prep food, but the kitchen has everything you would need, and a lovely new washing machine and (finally!) a tall fridge/freezer. There is a separate bathtub and a cubicle shower with an aerated Mira shower head which provides the extra !oomph! to the water pressure and it's a great experience. The owners provided us a wonderful welcome basket and the first thing we did was to sit outside and soak up the sun with some wine. Might I add that it was 3 degrees C, but thanks to a sun-trap front garden with a bench and table, we were able to find a wonderful area to sit and watch the sea. There is a busy road, but don't let that put you off as the garden is secure. The most convenient SPAR is located less than a 2 minute walk along the road. They have a great selection of food: fresh/vegan options/meats/ even Stornoway black pudding. A great selection of wine and spirits too and many local items that are often missed in the big stores. They had everything apart from logs/coal at that time, but in future, I am sure they will. Co-Op is just 3.7 miles away and they have everything for the fireplace and burner. From there, you can access the Skye Bridge easily and it's visible from the garden. Note: great photo opportunity when you see the moon above the Skye Bridge! The owner stopped by when he saw me in the garden just to make certain we were happy with our stay. What a joy. We will be back! Thank you sincerely, Nikki, Martin, Miles (woof)

Cottage was clean, comfortable and had a lovely welcome pack, which was much appreciated.

The village location is brilliant, with a beach across the road and well stocked shop and pub a few doors away. Excellent location for exploring the amazing local area and all the activities it has to offer. All the furnishings are very cosy and the cottage is well equipped to serve the needs of a couple or family. We look forward to returning to the cottage soon.

it was very well equipped (except for wine and beer glasses) and we appreciated the welcome pack of goodies. It was ideal for our dog having the small enclosed front garden. The views to the sea and beyond are amazing and we were very lucky to get fabulous weather.

Absolutely gorgeous place to stay a proper home from home.

The house had everything you could need. The welcome gifts were lovely. Gutted to leave the place, would definitely come back. I would advise anyone that’s coeliac to bring a stock of food with as spa next door doesn’t have any. Co op in kyle of lockalash had a small stock.

Craigard is in a great location with stunning views and a shop and hotel within yards, it is on the main road to Kyle of Lochalsh so traffic and noise to be expected - didn't spoil our holiday but might not suit everyone.

Lovely cottage and lovely welcome gifts from owners. Lots of supplies/ towels/ kitchen equipment which was really helpful, and there is a local spar shop less than a minute walk away. Sofas and beds were not the comfiest though but otherwise excellent cottage and would recommend.

We have had many cottage holidays over the years.

This was the most comfortable and had the best facilities of any we have stayed in. It's clear that the owners are considerate and thoughtful, putting customer care and comfort ahead of everything. The weather was absolutely dreadful during our stay; however we were able to relax in the cosy warmth of the cottage in spite of the rain. From the equipment for the kitchen and bathroom, to the tv and broadband set up, which was exceptional; and the whole layout and flow of the cottage, as well as the stunning views to Skye, this was our favourite ever.

We loved the situation of this cottage , the views are unbelievable and made our week very special .

We felt very welcomed by the tea tray being set for us with shortbread biscuits too . The cottage was bigger than we were expecting ( the kitchen is short in food prep space ) and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again and we were sad to leave . The road is outside is busy .

The welcome pack of wine, shortbread and milk was much appreciated, especially the wine! Everything was very clean and the cottage is very well equipped with everything you might need. The bedrooms are very spacious and the bed very comfortable. Although the kitchen area is small it works well being connected to the dining room. All the rooms have excellent views over Loch Alsh. While we were staying both the stove and open fire were out of use but the electric heating kept us warm despite the weather being very cold for early May. The cottage is set just off a main road but that didn’t bother us and it was easy to get around. There’s a little garden to sit out in weather permitting. A fish and chip van arrived just over the road on Thursday evening from around 5.00 - 7.30 and they were excellent.

Cosy, comfy and clean holiday cottage.

Very well equipped with lovely views. The cottage was warm on arrival with biscuits, milk and a bottle of wine to welcome us. It's a great base to explore the surrounding area and the Isle of Skye. Highly recommended.

The cottage was as described and well equipped.

There was plenty of heating to keep it cosy and it was handy for all amenities. The road noise can be loud but has little traffic over night. My Mum and I had a lovely relaxed week.

We had a fantastic week in this lovely cottage.

The location is brilliant, and really close to the Isle of Skye. Although it is on a busy road the garden was very secure, which was important to us as we have dogs. The view across the loch is stunning and we were able to watch porpoise from the garden !! The cottage was immaculately clean and suited our needs perfectly.

this a lovely cottage we have stayed there a few times over the years the area is outstanding, we had such good weather no midges we do travel about Fort Augustus Tain(pottery whisky) Plockton of course the views and food Ullapool lovely shops do try the seafood shack wow ,on a thursday night about 5pm a chippy van will pull up over in the lay-by lovely food and the girls are very nice .

we think the tumble dryer is not working not tumbling this is a small thing on a lovely week we will be coming back

There was nothing we didnt like everything was brilliant .

The cottage and the location were ammazing the owners left us little welcome pack and supplied all the little things u sometimes forget like washup liquid hand soap spare toilet rolls washing powder etc we loved our stay and would really recommend it for a relaxing break with plenty of lovely scenic walks xx

Clean, plenty of bed linen, towels etc house was very comfortable and better than expected and would not hesitate to recommend to others. All in all a fabulous time was had and could not fault anything

**Update to other reviews** It would seem that the mattresses on the beds have all been changed.

All 3 (double and 2 singles) have very comfortable, quiet mattresses with pillowtops. The double bed is a little soft (for us, and that is a subjective opinion) but still comfortable. The location is superb, isolated but with the shop a couple of doors down you definitely don't feel cut off. Kyle of Lochalsh is a few minutes down the road, with food options and a larger grocery store. The bridge to the Isle of Skye is also there, with several choices of attractions to visit there. We also recommend the drive up to Plockton, and larger places such as Inverness or Fort William are a couple of hours drive. We fully intend to come back so will be exploring more in the future (our options are governed by having 2 dogs with us). The cottage itself is very comfortable and snug, with a great view. Everything we needed was here, including even a clothes washing machine and a seperate dryer (very useful). Lots of bedding and towels are here, although the washing facilities meant we could clean the items we used as required. A previous review mentioned the tv/media situation. The tv is fine, but (subjective) there is 'only' a SKY tv satellite box attached to it (providing Freeview channels, not SKY channels). If this is an issue for you it would be best to bring something that can hook up to the tv via hdmi, etc. in order to watch your own media. We travel heavy so brought along a games console to use as a media player. The internet/wifi in the cottage is very good, good enough to game online even. I did find that my BT (so I also assume EE) mobile phone signal was non-existant inside the cottage, but as soon as I stepped outside I got signal. My wife's 3 mobile signal was fine inside the house. All-in-all, a very relaxing stay in a great location, thank you. Oh......I assume this is a regular thing........a fish&chip mobile food truck stops over the road in the layby on Thursday afternoon/evening. Unfortunately that was the day we had eaten our largest lunch when out and about but I did 'have' to buy a portion of haddock and chips (there are multiple options, all cooked to order) and can heartily recommend it.

The cottage was lovely and clean.

It was exactly as pictured. The owners obviously take their time to look after it. It was comfortable and warm - the heaters are excellent. A few small points as a suggestion for improvement - the bed springs underpinning the double bed are extremely old and noisy - not great for sharing a bed with a restless sleeper. The glasses could be updated - nothing fancy but just a box load from Tesco etc would give more choice. We also bought a small DVD player while we were there which is usually included as the weather was terrible and the TV channels are limited. It cost less than £40 including the HDMI cables which would help families with children or couples when the weather is so bad you want to stay indoors. Overall we loved our stay and hope the small points help others.

The Cottage was great, well located, well appointed and very clean The mattress in the main bedroom needs replaced urgently as long since last it’s best, springs sticking into my back did not make for a restful sleep and took the shine off the morning view of Lochalsh alsh.

You should also highlight that the cottage is on the very busy A87 and not on the beach or a quiet road . The road is quiet at night so it didn’t bother us too much As long as the mattress is replaced we would book again

To stay in Craigard cottage was very relaxing and nice.

The house was totally equipped of all stuff we need, was clean and confortabile. The only disappoint concern the bed are not so comfortable, they should be changed...
