Lovely wee secluded spot.

Very helpful owners of the accomodation. Will definitely look to return. Could do with a longer vanity mirror .

We loved our stay, the cottage is cosy and warm.

The location is so quaint and beautyful! Our daughter loved the horse. Nice beds, well maintained bathroom with a lovely Rain shower. Just keep the drainage clean of hairs is my advise ;) There is no Washing machine so keep that in mind. And the ammenity's like knifes, plates and such could be a bit more. We found it to be a bit sparse. We did not mind the people passing the cottage to go to the toilet. We simply loved our stay and we'll put the cottage in our favorites, we'd love to visit again

Lovely remote location deer in fields surrounding, we found WiFi fine.

Would have been good to know the pod visitors can be seen going to their bathroom shower but loved the remoteness and surrounding area

Positive first — amazing location.

Sadly, the description of the listing is less than accurate. Yes, it mentioned the four pods and says they aren’t visible from the cottage, which is true. What it fails to make clear is that the shower/toilet block is next to the cottage, so when you’re sitting at the picture window in the kitchen or in the garden, you get a perfect view of up to 14 people going in and out of the toilets and shared facilities. The description also fails to mention the shepherd’s hut, which you can both see and be seen from. The cottage is also listed as having Wi‑Fi. Yes, to a point it does, but it can only support one device at a time if you are lucky, and even then it is so slow as to be almost impossible to use. The information in the cottage is outdated — for example, of the five places listed to eat or drink in the area, two were permanently closed and one had limited access to non‑residents. As it was difficult to look anything up online, this was not ideal. We didn’t feel particularly welcomed during our stay, and there was little engagement to check if everything was okay or if we were enjoying our stay. Although a thank‑you message was sent via Sykes for leaving the cottage clean and tidy.

Great place to stay if you want to get away from things (which I do/did).

Just be aware that if you don't like the outdoors, or tranquility, or nature, then this probably isn't for you. We do. For us its a 10 out of 10. Great place, great setting, great hosts. Thank you so much, so you again in May '26.

Lovely location in a quaint comfortable cottage.

Watching the red deer every day nearby was a treat. Had everything we needed and the owners were nearby if we had a query.

Beautiful property with stunning views all around.

Perfect for getting away from modern day living. However we were disappointed by the bedrooms, as my wife and I found the bed too small and the room extremely cramped, where you had to shuffle sideways to get in the smallest double bed we have seen. Also, we were surprised to find that it wasn't as private as we were led to believe as other guests would cross infront of the property at all times of the day to access bathroom facilities. Other than this, the hosts were lovely and kind. Maybe a bit to remote for us, but that is our preference.

A nice property in a lovely location.

Some maintenance badly needed - eg bathroom window glass falling out of rotten frame; door handle of single bedroom jams shut so real danger of not being able to open from inside or out. A v gd shower but how about a shelf for the soap etc?

We had a wonderfully relaxing two weeks here.

The cottage is set in stunning surroundings and even though there are camping pods on site it was still very peaceful. It was lovely hearing the sheep and lambs in the field and watching the deer. The cottage is cosy with wonderful views from the kitchen. The owners are friendly and helpful. As has been said previously, the double bed mattress is very firm but it wouldn't put us off coming back again as the setting was idyllic.

Ideal property lovely owners

Very quiet place, just what we were after.

Roads were quite being out of season, and it was great to be in a dark sky area. Good value for money

Gorgeous, cosy cottage in a stunning location.

Very dog friendly and there were walks to do from the doorstep. It felt really remote, but wasn't far to travel for visiting Loch Ness. Lots of deer and bats to spot in the evening too, and when the clouds cleared, there was an amazing view of the milky way. The owners are right nearby and are there if you need them, friendly while never intrusive. Overall, a fantastic and very relaxing stay.

We had a wonderful stay in the Old Mill in Cannich.

The cottage is very comfortable and has everything you need. The view from the kitchen window is superb. Groceries at The Coop in Drumnadrochit. We visited Inverness and the Loch Ness centre. Beautiful walks in Glen Affric. We loved making a fire at night and read a book or watch a dvd. The owners are very helpful. Highly recommended!

The Old Mill was fantastic and the setting and scenery from the front door is spectacular.

Wild deer visited the field in front of the property everyday to graze The owners were friendly and available if required but never intrusive Peace and quiet was all around. A great place to get away from it all Highly recommend

Wonderful week’s stay in the old mill for our 15th anniversary, comfortable and spacious with everything we needed including a lovely wood burning stove.

We very much enjoyed the whiskey and fresh eggs kindly left for us on arrival! Spent much of the week hiking in the nearby hills and mountains, accessible from the property and surrounding area. Lots of wildlife spotted nearby such as deer, stoats, eagles and bats! Would thoroughly recommend this lovely property.

We had a very relaxing break at The Old Mill.

The location is ideal for exploring the wonderful scenery in that part of Scotland. The view out of the window from the kitchen table will live long in our memories and the family were very friendly. We lit the fire in the living room on a couple of evenings but the kitchen was always warm. The bedrooms were small, but this was not a problem.

A lovely location and a pleasant cottage with everything you could need for a nice week away from it all.

The local area offers lots of great walks and things to do. The owners were very nice and happy to chat or leave you to yourself. If you want peace, tranquillity and getting away from the mobile phone, this is the place to go, this is the a cottage to visit. You will find yourselves sitting at the kitchen table watching nature pass by.

We had an absolutely amazing 6 nights in the wonderful old mill it was so homely and so comfortable and extremely well maintained and clean .

The view was absolutely stunning we spent our time at the kitchen time looking out the deer, sheep & lambs and surrounding area was perfection. Thank you for a wonderful time with so much to see we had an amazing time Maxine

This is a superb location fantastic views great couple that owns it and fantastic places to visit all within a 20 mile radius we a had a fantastic holiday as Ben and Layla was the perfect host

Be aware that tv rececption is limited though there is wifi.

Cottage is characterful and lovely views are beautiful. Facilities are good and owners are very friendly and receptive. Bonus of welcoming extras a lovely touch. A great place to base and stay. Recommended.

We and our dogs really enjoyed our time at the cottage.

Really friendly people, lovely location with plenty of dogs walking scope for our too large dogs. You have to be sensible when walking dogs where live stock is concerned but that was not issue at all. The offer of on site produced lamb was great and very tasty as where the eggs. Be prepared for a firm mattress on the double bed.

Fantastic site, fantastic accommodation, Loved it all, especially the deer, the fire, the whisky, the water, the haggis.

... Shame we had the coldest night of the year, but hey - it was December!

A beautiful secluded place to stay.

You will need to use the woodburner and purchase fuel as it would be cold without. I was there autumn time.

Real sense of remoteness without being too far from facilities.
