This property is in a lovely setting, well laid out and provisioned.

The owners obviously take pride in this property. The owners are really open and welcoming. The provisions that were supplied were a very nice touch.

We were made to feel very welcome by Colin and it was a pleasure each day to come back for the evening after our busy days out. The wine and nibbles basket were very welcome, and the tea and milk provided also a lovely touch. We found the temperature in the cottage a bit too warm , with unseasonal sunshine , but we contacted Colin who adjusted it straight away to suit us. Lots of clean towels, tea towels and everything we could want in the kitchen. I would highly recommend this cottage.

Thistledown Cottage was a lovely place to stay in a quiet, relaxing part of the country.

Welcome pack on arrival was a nice touch. Lots of facilities nearby, local farm shop, pubs and restaurants etc lovely walks and good local transport to get further afield. Colin was always on hand if needed and very helpful. Great place to stay.

The cottage was comfortable, warm, and very well equipped in a beautiful setting. Lovely pub, The Old House at Home, was in walking distance. We loved walking to East Head from West Wittering and Petworth House. Bucklers Hard was a bit of a drive, but well worth it. We had a super lunch at The Master Builder and a little boat trip. The walk from Beaulieu to Bucklers Hard was really lovely, about 2 miles each way. We were very lucky with the weather too which was obviously a bonus. We would highly recommend

I would wholeheartedly recommend Thistledown Cottage.

It's in a very quiet country lane. It's nicely furnished and decorated without the addition of too many 'accessories' which can sometimes make rooms look cluttered. It's well maintained and very clean. The shower cubicles are roomy and the water pressure is good. Bedrooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable with nice bedding. There is everything you need in the kitchen if you want to cook (Note to Colin: I couldn't find any scissors though - I forgot to mention it to you) Colin met us on arrival and instructed us on how to operate the automatic gates. Thank you for the basket of 'goodies' and wine on arrival. We went to the Bosham Inn which is at the top of Chidham Lane on the main road and had a very nice meal. Bosham Quay is a nice place to visit and sit in the tea room overlooking the harbour or wander round the little craft shops. There are several small supermarkets within driving distance without having to go into Chichester for any shopping you might need. All in all Thistledown Cottage is well placed for a peaceful break away from home.

Lovely cottage.

Super friendly hosts in beautiful setting. I didn't spot there was no washing machine when I booked which was annoying as I like to wash a few bits midweek. Everything was clean and we were welcomed with a bottle of wine and some nibbles.

A lovely cottage in very good condition, in a lovely part of the country that we hadn't visited before.

Nice walks from the cottage door, and the added bonus that if we walked up to the main road there is an excellent bus service which was able (via Chichester) to take us to all the places we wanted to visit, and meant that we hardly needed to do any driving during the week.

Beautifully presented, tastefully furnished and very comfortable. We fell in love with Thistledown and the surrounding area...we couldn't ask for a nicer place to stay

As good as it gets!

The property was lovely, and Colin was friendly and helpful.

The only problem was a lack of hooks in the bathroom, and a shelf in the downstairs bathroom would have been very helpful. The wine and treats were very welcome too!. We would definitely recommend Thistledown Cottage, such a beautiful area too.

The photos don't do the property justice, it is much roomier than the photos suggest, very light, airy and modern.

Nice touches like live plants, as well as welcome 'pack' of tea, coffee, milk and a bottle of wine. Also quite private with electronic gate security. Many thanks to Colin, the owner, for his help in arrangements for my disabled friend, and for help with loading and unloading. I would definitely recommend this property, and would like to go again.

Colin is very welcoming and the cottage is excellent. It is beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean and provides everything you could need. Would not hesitate to recommend.

The owner was amazing and everything you need was there including a lovely welcome pack. The situation was private, remote, and peaceful but close to shops and facilities. We had an amazing week with wonderful weather. Plenty of places to visit followed by a lovely relaxing evening back at the property. Couldn't recommend any more highly. Thank you.

Thistledown cottage is a great place to stay.

Colin met us when we arrived and told us everything we needed to know about the accommodation. It is the special touches that were in the cottage a pint of milk in the fridge, a bottle of wine and a few munches on the side. There were tablets for the dishwasher, washing up liquid and tea towels all so appreciated. Lots of information on places to visit and how to use the television and even Netflix. They have thought of everything to make your stay the best. It is a comfortable and beautifully kept cottage. Looking forward to returning another time.

We had the perfect holiday home in Thistledown Cottage.

Warm, clean and had everything provided way beyond expectations. Good communication with the owner who settled us in on arrival. Would definitely recommend this place and the area is very pretty and enjoyed eating locally.

Lovely holiday home which we used as a base to explore West Sussex and Portsmouth.

Ample space for our family of four, with very clean and modern rooms.

This was our second visit to Thistledown and hopefully it won't be our last.

The property is fabulous, secure and in a wonderful position, very peaceful with lots of lovely walks, a fabulous pub very close by and easy access to shopping and bus routes. Colin couldn't have been a more welcoming and helpful host. If I were looking for something to critic it would just be that the TVs could do with updating as streaming catch up was difficult and buffered in the bedroom particularly but this was a very minor thing and in no way detracted from a fabulous week.

Everything we needed was there and looked new. The location was ideal for us to tour the West Sussex coast and the bus stops to Chichester and Portsmouth were within walking distance at the top of the lane. Lovely walks the other way to see the boats in the estuary and the countryside.

This is a lovely, clean, comfortable cottage, ideal for exploring this lovely part of the coast.

It is quietly positioned, yet close to amenities such as shops, pubs and other eateries. Importantly, the beds are comfortable!

We were three elderly people and found this to be an ideal base for exploring Sussex and Hampshire.

This is an outstanding property with everything that you need for a fantastic break on the coast.

The host was extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We would highly recommend the cottage and will be returning in the future.

Colin was very friendly.

He greeted us on the gate on arrival and introduced us to the cottage. The cottage was extremely well equipped for all self-catering needs, including a hotel-style shower gel/shampoo dispenser in the showers. A lovely peaceful location with easy walks around Chidham and the peninsula.

Everything was top notch.

Spotless cottage, all mod cons and well laid out. Set in a beautiful landscape and perfectly placed for touring around. We had lovely hot weather and were able to find shade if needed, always with a lovely view. Colin, the owner is extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the area and its many delights. Never intrusive, but if you need help he goes above and beyond!!! He's friendly too and a thoroughly nice man. Book this cottage, you will not be disappointed.

It was a beautifully Appointed cottage and was presented in 1st class condition couple that with a fantastic area for us it was perfect.

The property is absolutely beautifully presented, comfortable, clean in an amazing location, the property owner Colin Gibbons is a real gentleman, my wife had an accident crashing off her pushbike and breaking her arm, had a couple of nights in hospital.

Colin did everything he could to mitigate the impact on us and our holiday I really can't thank him enough.

Quiet and secure. Not our style but tv in each bedroom as well as lounge! A good base for exploring coast between Chichester and Portsmouth, Plenty of walks on the doorstep.

Thistledown was a beautiful cottage; well decorated and with every facility we could have wanted.

It was well situated. There were plenty of good walks around the scenic harbour within a few minutes of the cottage. Even the weather was exceptional for October. We enjoyed the lazy breakfasts watching the colourful birdlife on the garden feeders. Colin and Rowena could not have been more helpful. We woke up one morning to find we had a flat tyre. We couldn't remove the tyre. Colin did everything he could with his own toolset and when that didn't work he drove us to a garage to fix the problem after Rowena had checked which garages could see us at such short notice. There's lots more we want to see so we hope to be back before too long.

Thistledown Cottage is very well equipped, spotlessly clean and has a homely feel.

The owners, Colin and Rowena. have used quality fixtures and fittings throughout, making for a very comfortable stay in lovely surroundings. Of the many cottages stayed in during recent years, it is ranked as being in our top 5. We would have no hesitation in booking this cottage again and highly recommend it.

The property is situated in attractive, peaceful and secluded country side but is in reasonable distance to the many attractions the area offers.

The cottage itself is attached to main house and is in immaculate condition both inside and out. They have adapted to the problems risen from coronavirus completely. The facilities provided in the property were first class. The owners live on site and were very welcoming. They respected our privacy at all times but would respond cheerfully to any query we had. They are nice people. We had an excellent, comfortable week's holiday and recommend this cottage to anybody.

We were 'bowled over' by the design and presentation of this modern and well though-out property.

It is easily accessible with a level entrance and with all but a twin bedroom and en-suite shower room on the ground floor., so ideal for anyone who find stairs difficult. The property was well-equipped and spotlessly clean. It proved to be an ideal base for many places to visit in the area. We would happily book again.

Thistledown cottage is a lovely cottage with very high spec finish , topical of many Sykes cottages we have been in , with very friendly owner's .

we had a lovely holiday with lots of places to visit, the weather was good which is alwaly a bonus ,would love to return some time .
