Tower Barn Cottage

Family of 5 stayed here .

A few negatives I feel I have to address . First parking was awkward for our two cars . Stinging nettles in the garden borders . Garden furniture very cheap and basic not comfortable at all . No welcome pack ( except a couple of bottles of water ) in the fridge and a few biscuits. I messaged the owners on the number they gave and no response at all ( WhatsApp ) Not enough mugs considering the property sleeps 6 people . Sofa really uncomfortable and very low . Dining table chairs also uncomfortable and cheap . We paid near 3k for this property in July and was not value for money at all . We expected better quality furnishings. Only positive was the nice high ceilings and the charm of the place . Unusual property . very clean In all the places I’ve stayed on the iow this is the least value for money.

The property description suggests it has a rural setting, in fact it’s over looked by 4 houses that are 4- 5 meters from the fence so no privacy ar all.

There is only 1 window that opens within the property, there are no chest of drawers in any bedroom, particularly worse in main bedroom so we lived out of a suitcase and the single beds are quite uncomfortable. Location good for access to beach . Just in our opit it misrepresents what is there

This is a fabulous property, obviously a lot of money and time has been spent renovating it.

We enjoyed staying here, and it's a lovely walk to Appley beach. There were some improvements that could be made though. We chose the property because of the water tower, using the photos on the website but unfortunately the top of the tower pictured on the website was locked with no access. Despite requesting access within 10 minutes of arrival on Friday, it took until Tuesday for it to be opened. A few of the issues that irritated us - there's only seating for 5 in the lounge area although it sleeps 6. We moved a lounge rug as it was a slip hazard ( no grip underneath) and loads of sand and dirt from previous visitors dropped onto the floor. Be careful on the outside picnic table, it tipped up when we were sitting there - really needs to be heavier or cemented in. At 5ft2 I struggled to reach the glasses and mugs in the kitchen cupboards as these were weirdly high. But overall yes we did enjoy our stay - I guess for the high price it just felt a bit like there shouldnt be so many niggly issues.

The building conversion has been done sensitively and adds to the character of the building. Close proximity to Appley beach was a bonus with an 8 and 10 year old. Kitchen was well equipped and the outdoor area was an ideal area for games.

Pleasantly quirky property, with good access to Appley beach.

Location otherwise somewhat disappointing, in the middle of a housing estate and very overlooked by several other properties.

Wonderful unique property.

Very secure garden, which was great for our two dogs! Well maintained and clean property, with a well stocked kitchen. Highly recommended

The brochure stated that the garden was fully enclosed, which it wasn't.

We chose this property because we were taking our son, daughter in law and to energetic grandsons ages 3 years and 17 months with us. The enclosed garden was one of the deciding factors. The property itself had been lovingly restored and was positioned close to the beach and playground. The problem was that the owner was in the process of having various work done resulting in the garden resembling a bit of a building site. The furniture and fittings were of good quality but the dining room chairs were too low, there were no hooks in the shower room or the bedrooms so we were unable to hang up towels, coats etc in the rooms. the patio was lovely but there was only enough seating for two people when the cottage was for 6. Overall we enjoyed the cottage and the location. I have informed the owner and he is going to change and add things so it will be interesting to find out what changes have been made.

Tower Barn is a warm and spacious property.

We took a 4 day break with my in laws and teenage son, all of us were very impressed with the renovation work and the living space. The neighbourhood is very peaceful so it really was a successful choice and a restful holiday.

Beautifully decorated holiday house which was cosy but still enough space for 3 generations to relax in comfort.

We loved seeing the views from the tower and all the IOW had to offer. Would definitely recommend!

This was a fantastic last minute rental for us and it delivered on its promise of being a unique, comfortable, well located property with everything we needed for a relaxing break.

What an iconic rental!

We absolutely loved the building and its attention to restoration the owner has clearly spent a lot of time, money and effort on it. The kids loved the clock tower! Loved the house, very unique and special!

The quality of the finish was excellent and the beds were really comfortable. The area was also excellent for getting to the beach and within easy distance from the ferry and other attractions.
