Buddleia Cottage

I thought it was just perfect.

I stayed at Buddleia Cottage with my grown up daughter. It was a holiday reminiscing of holidays 30 years ago. The property was clean and comfortable. I was impressed that light weight duvets were in place as this is not always the case . We stayed during the heatwave of 32c . There was a fan and a lovely through draft if the front and back doors were left open. The cottage was fully equipped and hand soap, washing up liquid , toilet rolls were supplied. The area surrounding the property is fantastic. Lots of beautiful countryside just on the doorstep. We went swimming at 'high tide' every day and walked from the cottage in our swimwear the 50metres to the beach. Appleby and Ride are a short walk away. I would consider not taking a car as the ferry cost is £212 return . There is great public transport. If it wasn't for the high cost of the ferry I would certainly go again.

The accommodation was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. We liked the local maps amd pictures on the walls and lots of brochures and information on the local attractions. Also, appreciated having a choice of duvets with different tog values. Many thanks, I am sure we will be back again.

In a perfect location, next to the beach and so much to see.

The property was immaculately clean and the furnishings and equipment were top quality. Plenty of information about the Island along with useful maps. I think I will book again for next year.

The location and proximity of the cottage to the beach makes it ideal for long Summer days.

Even later in the year makes it a desirable destination. The cottage provides quiet and solitude not usually reserved for holiday lets. The aforementioned is why my partner and I intend to book it for a third consecutive time next year

Spotlessly clean and as others have said everything you could possibily need.

There was a small maintenance problem which was all sorted within hours of reporting. You can leave car in car park and after short walk into seaview catch the number 8 bus either in the Ryde or Newport direction.Slow but amazing views form the top deck.

The property, its facilities and location near to the sea were perfect for our needs. The owners are fantastic to deal with and very responsive to any queries. We would not hesitate to recommend Buddleia Cottage.

. Very home from home, everything you need to cook a meal. Also it was nice to have plenty of towels available. Beds were comfortable. Very clean property. We love Seaview and come back most years to visit my family on the island, we were also lucky with the weather, and lovely overlooking the lake .

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the cottage was spotless.

Everything worked really well apart from WiFi , kept putting in code but it would not accept it Not too big a problem as it got us away from all the ‘techy’ stuff anyway!

...of course the spectacular weather helped. The cottage location was perfect with the beach just across the road and easy stroll into pretty Seaview village. Buddleia cottage is small but very comfy and well equipped. Excellent shower. Lovely sunny deck with plenty of space. A bonus is being next door to the Hersey nature reserve. Would be happy to return any time.

It's well equipped, very comfortable and was perfect for our needs. It's in a great location not far from the beach and has lovely outdoor space. We look forward to returning next year.

Tucked away in the corner it was very cosy. The owners have made great effort in their arrangements and the facilities in their property. The shower was brilliant. No complaints at all. Thanks for letting us stay. Alan and Nick

to it was far from the cott with suitcase when you are dissabled it was very dif it was 300 yard from cottage not very good for disabed

It's far back corner location, next to the big green is great as you feel that little more secluded and have the extra side decking area. It's a lovely peaceful spot and having the sea on the doorstep is the best! We very much enjoyed walking to The Old Fort. The chalet itself was great. The space was used very well and contained everything we needed. I can imagine it can get very hot in there when the weather is hot, but the heater/fan was appreciated. The only small thing I'd highlight is that the picnic bench seat on the side decking is quite worn so has splinters (I got one), so may need a little sanding at some point. Other than that, a fantastic stay and we would definitely come again. Many thanks!

A super bungalow, in a quiet area close to the shingle beach.

There were no seagulls waking us up and bunnies on the lawns. The additional decking area was a bonus. Ryde sandy beach is a pleasant 20 minute walk away along the sea wall. There is a good bus route all around the island with fares at bargain prices. I would just mention the main bedroom is small and one side of the bed is against the wall. The bungalow is well equipped with a good shower. All items at the bungalow were very clean. Good, clean towels and tea towels were provided. Would like to rebook for another visit.

The property itself was clean and comfortable, our only complaint was that the parking facilities were not described properly, having expected to be able to park close to the bungalow, we found that the car park was a considerable distance from the house.

As we are both disabled, this made unloading and loading difficult, to say the least. I feel this should have been mentioned on the booking site. In fact ,this has been the second time this year that the same problem has occurred, as we booked a previous holiday with you in April, in Harlech, North Wales. That time I had to walk to the other end of town to park the car, and this was while recovering from a hip operation.

A really enjoyable stay, only a short stroll from the beach, with nice restaurants close to hand.

A small bungalow, ideal for a couple like ourselves - modern well equipped kitchen, smart TV, a front patio with table and chairs to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air. An excellent base from which to explore the island.

We have had a lovely holiday on I of W and the cottage was very good and in a very nice area of Seaview.

Everything we needed for a self catering holiday was provided, a very restful place. Just one comment given perhaps for the owners to consider. The double bed in a small room had to be against the wall so that the door could be opened and closed, this meant that one person had to climb over the other to get in and out of bed, not good. Perhaps modification to door would be answer. Just a thought. Otherwise excellent accommodation.

Lovely seaside bungalow.

Excellent location, very close to the sea and nice places to eat in Seaview. We used as a base to explore the whole island. Bungalow exactly as listed, very comfortable and had everything we needed. Lovely to sit out on the terrace and enjoy the sunshine.

Lovely little place for a holiday.

Beach was a stones throw away. I would definitely stay again.

On arrival the cottage only appeared to have been partially cleaned hairs on back of chairs crumbs on chairs and floor cottage obviously hadn’t been hoovered or floor mopped, cutlery sticky not at all up to standard would certainly expect more of a stringent cleaning policy considering we are all still living with the risk of Covid.

We informed the owner who was very apologetic and said he would get the cleaner to return which we declined as we had already decided to clean it ourselves. Once we had settled in we found the cottage lovely and cosy and well equipped, car parking was just a short walk away. Beach a 2 minute walk away with a costal path to take a pleasant stroll along into Ryde and a good base for exploring the island.

Cleaning was definitely not up to standard.

Toilet been used and not cleaned. More dusting needed. Certainly wasn't a covid clean. Apart from that a perfect location.

Lovely accommodation that was very well equipped and left beautifully clean.

Good location. I found the mattress on the double bed very hard/uncomfortable.

The cottage was lovely in an ideal location with easy access to main routes to rest of the island and between 2 puds for excellent eating out would definitely stay here again and would definitely recommend.

But on arrival we found that glasses and crockery had been put away in cupboard still dirty by previous occupants. However the amount of road works, road closed and diversion sites was very frustrating especially as a tourist if you don't know where your going, even more so when no-one for several days is even working, while I fully appreciate this is nothing to do with the company it is something to be aware of if you are visiting in the next couple of weeks.

The cottage was comfortable and well equipped and in a beautiful setting right by the sea with the nature reserve on one side.

We really enjoyed our stay.
