What a lovely, peaceful place to stay.

Easy walk to the sea wall or to Lymington. A perfect location for a break. Plenty of wildlife in and around the garden and in the nearby area including owls, songbirds, deer and lots of waterfowl. The home grown flowers and the bottle of Prosecco were a nice touch and much appreciated for our holiday.

The location was outstanding.

The sofa was very uncomfortable as was the outdoor seating. The sink in the bathroom was very low and while there was a surfeit of mirrors, none were good for shaving or putting make up on. I felt uncomfortable with the family pictures especially the breastfeeding painting, and with the playboy books. It felt like we had intruded into someone's family home which maybe we had but this is not what you want as a holiday let. There was a lack of tourist information (some nice arty books about the locality though) plus no info about nearest hospital, shops etc. The location lends itself to nice walks and it would be lovely to include some maps of local circular walks. A very expensive property but certainly was not value for money and did not come up to the standard I expect from holiday rentals

I was looking for a relaxing, restful, solitary getaway - this fit the bill perfectly.

The lodge is in the private grounds of a large house, so felt very secure, but not isolated. The weather was pretty bad, which gave me the perfect excuse to stay in and relax. The lodge had everything I needed, with the town a short drive away for supplies. I'd agree with other reviewers that the sofa was pretty uncomfortable to sit on (but very cosy for lounging!). Apart from that, the large bed was very comfortable, and the enormous shower was lovely. I felt very at home and had a lovely stay. Just what I needed.
