Little Timbers

We stayed at Little Timbers for 3 nights over the Christmas period.

It's a lovely cosy little building,nice and warm and instant hot water and with all amenities. Just perfect for 2people and a small ISH dog. We found it close to all the forest walks and shops we wanted to visit. Only a few minutes in the car .

We were fully aware how tiny this property is, however we did not expect to have to clean up dusty cobwebs and dead spiders from the bathroom.

The shower tray had mould and dirt in the corners. The sofa was terribly uncomfortable too, but our biggest disappointment was the lack of an oven! The good points were that the bed was comfortable and the water was hot. We were so uncomfortable we left 3 days early. We have been very impressed with Sykes Cottages previously, but whoever inspected this property on your behalf clearly was having a bad day and this sort of shoddy inspection can only damage your reputation.

Comfy bed but very uncomfortable sofa! Thought 'enclosed garden' meant secure, not so, dogs needed to be on lead. Awkward when my dog wanted to go out in the night. Also didn't realise the garden was communal and others would be walking directly by the chalet doors and windows.

Little Timbers is a great little place situated near the New Forest and the Jurassic coast.

As its name suggests it is quite small and compact, but it was extremely clean and tidy. The bed was very comfortable but quite high for my short legs! Unfortunately the sofa has seen better days and was very uncomfortable. The kitchen is reasonably well equipped but lacked egg cups and there was only one teaspoon! Also there is no oven (a fact we missed on the listing). The garden is really nice with fairy lights which look very pretty at night. On the property’s listing it says that the garden is enclosed and secure for dogs, however on the owners instructions they asked for dogs to be kept on a lead. Overall we had a nice time but would not return.

Great location and loverly accommodation in Geoff’s back garden.

Not there fault but weather atrocious but this was not for us far to small no hairdryer no shower mat no oven no eggcups no dustpan and brush lots of small but important things very uncomfortable settee not happy won’t go back

Lovely comfortable and more than adequate for a short stay the garden is beautiful and our dog enjoyed exploring it very much.

Ideally situated for visits around the forest and all it has to offer.

Highly recommend for an enjoyable, peaceful setting.

The garden is stunning and beautiful when lite up at night, very relaxing. The property is in an ideal location easy access to the New Forest and it's many delights. Short walk or drive to the town center and supermarkets, Lidl's, Morrison, Tesco. Easy drive to Christchurch, Bournemouth, Poole and many more places. Good value for the money and the owner Geoff is very informative and helpful. We hope to go back at some point.

What a lovely little cottage in a beautiful garden.

Lovely to see the fish in the pond - a reminder of mine back home. The cottage is quite small but adequate for just the two of us to go exploring. We sadly had an unpleasant experience at the Elm tree restaurant being totally ignored by the staff. However, the Railway pub was amazing. Had some Korean food and was delicious. The only gripe I had with the cottage was that the sofa was quite uncomfortable and a bit lumpy.

I had a lovely stay in the cabin — it was clean, peaceful, and the garden felt like a little oasis.

The only small suggestion I’d make is to consider including a few welcome touches, like a basket with essentials or even just some fresh milk or cereal, as I’ve seen in other holiday lets. There was a small box of Coco Pops left behind, but unfortunately, it was four months past its use-by date. That aside, I really enjoyed my time and appreciated the tranquil setting.

The owners should put on the form that they have dogs just so that you’re awake if you have a shitty dog, their dogs are walking around

Lovely short stay close to lots of amenities.

I had a very enjoyable stay at "Little Timbers", comfortable and cosy with good facilities.

A nice walk into the town centre for a good variety of shops and handy bus routes for the New Forest area. Friendly and helpful hosts as well.

A very cosy cottage.

Had everything needed for our stay. The garden is gorgeous and owners were happy for our dogs to come along. A very central location. And a doggy park a ten minute walk where we met some lovely people walking there doggies. We definitely enjoyed our few days break.

Very small,definitely not for someone a little larger than average,I could only get through the bathroom door sideways.

The bathroom is a feat in engineering to squeeze in all that they do, the sink is the smallest I’ve ever seen. The bedroom is difficult to accommodate 2 people to get dressed at the same time. The kitchen was poorly equipped,,no egg cups and only 2 plastic tea plates,,no brush to sweep the floorI, I was not impressed. It’s not made clear that the garden is not private . It is however very central for access to the new forest and a nice selection of shops .The host I must say was very pleasant ,

Nice little garden cottage.

Lovely garden and loads of birds, not seen a thrush for ages. Peacefully, good walks and nice pub down road. Hosts very friendly and helpful

Small but perfectly formed I think is the best way to describe Little Timbers!

We were warmly welcomed by Geoff and instantly felt at home with free use of the garden as well as the cottage - I can't wait to go back in the summer and make proper use of all the outside spaces! Thank you Geoff, we loved it!!

Great property as described, clean modern near town centre which has loads to offer great restaurants and coffee shop and Saturday market, most are dog friendly,we enjoyed our stay.

We stayed at Little Timbers from 20th sept to 27th 2024 and really enjoyed our break in the New Forest .

On arriving we received a very warm welcome from Geoff the owner . The cottage provided a comfortable stay with all the equipment we required . Set in a lovely enclosed well maintained garden which our collie dog loved to have a wonder in . Very clean and well presented . Excellent to have parking space on Geoffs driveway and close to a great pub and close to shops in Ringwood Little Timbers was a great base to travel to & explore all areas of the New Forest Geoff was a great host and Littjle Timbers was excellent accommodation . Definately well worth a stay and we will make a return visit Keith & Jen Boulton

Lovely little cottage, clean and comfortable My only issue is that I couldn’t watch any tv and the WiFi and internet didn’t work which was quite costly Fortunately I had an iPad which I could download programmes at a local cafe For that reason I wouldn’t stay again, as much as I had a relaxing time there I would have liked the option to watch tv

Yes the property is " little" but it's a gem.

Very enjoyable indeed. The garden was a joy to walk around and sit and enjoy a glass of wine !

A very clean and comfortable modern lodge with every facility you could need set in a lovely garden .

Our border collie loved it there were even treats left for him .We will certainly visit again .

My sister and I had a wonderful four days at Little Timbers.

Everything was perfect, we both fell in love with the beautiful garden and our host Geoff was one of the nicest people we have ever met, he took the time to talk to us and made us very welcome. My sister will be going back to New Zealand with very fond memories of staying at Little Timbers. Thank you again for a lovely stay and I will be coming back at some time.

The owner was very personable.

The location was good. We didn’t realise from the description the accommodation is in a personal property garden, therefore no personal outside space. This we may have overlooked on the listing. The accommodation was clean and provided all the necessities. Although was a little small to relax in. Ideal property for getting out and about. Unfortunately the weather limited our excursions.
