2 Welford Barns

The property was perfectly adequate but is in need of a little tlc in the cleaning and maintenance.

The pillows were most uncomfortable, but luckily we had our own.

We had a lovely 10-night stay at Welford Barn 2 (in the fifth heatwave of the summer!

) with two small dogs exploring the New Forest. The accommodation is spacious and well-sized for two adults and two small dogs, and the enclosed area outside was perfect for letting the dogs go for a wander, and do their business. The location was well-connected for travelling across the New Forest, walking into Fordingbridge, and it was peaceful and private at night for getting to sleep. Given how hot it was during our stay the fan in the accommodation was greatly appreciated, however we would have really loved to have had a freezer to keep our dog’s food in along with ice creams, as we had to bring a cooler bag from home filled with freezer blocks. The beds were comfortable, and the milk and pastries on arrival were a lovely touch! Given that the accommodation is on a largely single-track country road, a mirror opposite the end of the drive would have been helpful for getting out of the property, as it was difficult to see if traffic was coming from either direction until your car was actually on the road. All-in-all, we really enjoyed our stay with our two dogs, and discovered some great dog-friendly places to visit - we can definitely recommend a trip to Buckler’s Hard, Exbury Gardens, and The Brickworks Museum, as the dogs can go everywhere at all these locations!

Welford Barn is beautifully situated on the outskirts of Fordingbridge which is an excellent base for the New Forrest, the property was cosy with an enclosed garden, my only comment would be it could do with having a dustpan and brush for visitors to use and the pillows on the bed were very soft.

November 14th - 17th… We had an amazing long weekend at 2 welford barns.

It’s so cozy, warm, light and comfortable, everything you need. Fordingbridge is a pretty place to have a walk around and the George Pub is worth a visit. There are some beautiful walks near by, we walked from Froghan to Fritham, its about a 11k walk there and back but well worth it… It’s the perfect spot if you want to go to Salisbury as it’s just a 20 minute drive. We didn’t see the owners but we didn’t have the need to, so all good.

Good location for the new forest and the beach.

On arrival hosts provided a few Danish pastries. Accommodation was comfortable

Perfect for the two of us and our small dog. Lovely location very close to the New Forest and so many interesting places. Owners lovely. Highly recommend.

Set in beautiful, peaceful grounds behind the main house.

Holiday let was pleasantly light, airy & roomy with a nice little private & enclosed decked area. Well equipped, however could do with a dustpan to sweep up bits bought in from outside. Also, perhaps could consider adding a grab handle in the shower for use by people with balance/mobility issues.

Very comfortable stay,great base for exploring the New Forest.

Everything we needed was there,the only thing that would be a good idea,would be to put a mirror up on the road by the entrance gate,as limited visibility when pulling out of gateway.

We really had a great time at this comfortable,clean place that had everything you needed.

Would think about going again.

Comfortable Accommodation: The studio layout was well-designed with the bed at one end and the kitchen at the other. It was cozy and welcoming. 2. Thoughtful Amenities: It was lovely to find a pint of milk in the fridge and a couple of pain au chocolate upon arrival. The enclosed area just outside was perfect for my four-legged companion, Poppy and a bonus was the outsize light for her night-time wee! The queen size bed was a real treat. The barn was well equipped with everything you might need (even a hairdryer, and a torch). 3. Friendly Hosts: The hosts, Richard and Jo, were reassuringly close by, (the other side of the fence) and as I was travelling on my own it was good to know that I had neighbours. I appreciated Jo's welcome check-up message on Sunday evening too. Cons: 1. Location Confusion: The postcode initially took me to a property on a different road. I recommend using Stuckton Road in your sat nav or arriving while it's still light to avoid any confusion. 2. Shower Room Temperature: The walk-in shower room was a bit cold initially, but it warmed up nicely after the radiator was switched on. 3. There is a major road close by and you can hear traffic most of the time but it didn't spoil my visit. Overall Experience: My stay at 2 Welford Barns was delightful. It provided a cozy retreat, and the friendly hosts added a reassuring touch. It's close to so many other places: we visited the New Forest, Boscombe, Highcliffe and Wimborne. I would recommend this studio barn to anyone looking for a dog friendly relaxing getaway. Rating: 4.5/5 stars

Would go back with no worries at all

Amazing cottage, everything was perfect, absolutely ideal for our little trip with the dogs.

Had everything that we could possibly need. Our only minor complain was that the bed was a bit uncomfortable.

Nice stay but the only thing against it was the soft bed , apart from that lovely

Just an amazing retreat, location is amazing and the little cottage is absolutely stunning and cosy.

Loved everything about it.

Lovely spot that was walking distance to quaint village with cofffee, food and groceries.

20 min drive down to the coast was great. The cottage definately needs a more comfortable bed and pillows. Ceiling needs a good clean as quite alot of cobwebs and spiders.

A modern accommodation with private patio in a great location for exploring the local area.

A nice welcome pack of fresh pastries and milk in the fridge. Tea and coffee available too. Plenty of information was provided by leaflets and maps. TV and WiFi on hand. This was a lovely stay, quiet and leisurely. Ideal for a couple and our dog was made welcome too.
