More recently Hamnet was shot on location just 12 miles from the Dutch barn in the village of Weobley. Perfectly situated to visit and explore the picturesque Tudor villages, towns and landscapes that helped bring this cinematic epic to life.
Boasting reverse-level accommodation, this converted barn offers a much-deserved break in an interesting part of the UK. Nudging the Welsh border, ideally situated for the Hay Festival in May and the Ludlow Food Festivals in May, August and September , this is a fabulous location for walking, cycling and outdoor adventure. On return from a day exploring, you have two wonderfully appointed bedrooms mirroring each other in terms of style and design. They both come with zip/link beds, perfect for flexible sleeping arrangements and fitted wardrobes to stow away your belongings safely. Enjoy a lie in each morning with a warming cup of tea before using the en-suite facilities to refresh you ready for the day ahead. In the evenings, when you want some down time with your loved ones, climb the staircase to the open-plan living room, which is bright and airy highlighting the quality furnishings. You can relax on the sofa in front of the wall-mounted TV or simply take in the beautiful views of the surrounding farmland and green countryside. From the top of the stairs, you can see across to the stunning orchard. Slide open the bi-folding doors and step out onto the balcony to appreciate the lush natural environment surrounding you. Bring out a refreshing drink and unwind with your family on a balmy afternoon, discussing plans for the rest of your trip. If you are in need of even more relaxation, why not step outside and take a dip in the hot tub with a glass of your favourite drink and gaze up into the starry sky. You are close to the Hereford/Shropshire border, with plenty of delightful towns and villages to explore, such as Ludlow, Pembridge and Tenbury Wells. There are lots of cafés, shops and pubs nearby in the market town of Leominster, where you can admire the architecture and pay a visit to the local museum. The National Trust properties of Berrington Hall and Croft Castle and Parkland are also well worth a visit, as is the Queenswood Country Park and Arboretum. Hereford is not to be missed with its stunning cathedral, home to its ancient chained library and famous Mappa Mundi. If you are looking for a comfortable stay with fantastic views of the countryside plus peace and quiet, apart from a few moos from the cows in the nearby orchard, than this place is great.
The host has thought of everything, from a well equipped kitchen to comfortable beds and a relaxing lounge/dining area. We loved sitting out on the balcony with a cup of tea enjoying the view. We did not sit in the little enclosed courtyard or try the hot tub but maybe on our next visit. The welcome pack was wonderful, best we have experienced, full of locally produced goods and very much appreciated/enjoyed. Communication between host and guests was excellent, although we did not have any problems during our stay. We would definitely return to the Dutch Barn again as in a good position to enjoy several National Trust houses and gardens along with the beautiful Herefordshire countryside.

We had an amazing stay at the Barn The property was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed and the hot tub was a much needed requirement due to the recent heatwave as our host Jackie turned the heat down so as we could keep cool.
The location was peaceful and convenient for exploring the local area. Communication with the host was excellent, and check-in was straightforward. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend it to others. Thank you for a great visit!

The Dutch Barn is a terrific accommodation.
It was stylish, clean, comfortable and well equipped. You could tell that the owners had thought carefully about how to make the property work for guests. Everyone from the farm was cheerful and would give us a wave as they passed, and Jackie was good at communicating with us. The Barn is in an excellent location to visit houses, gardens and towns nearby, while the view from windows was peaceful and the hot tub added more enjoyment.

Sue and I were looking for a location and accommodation which created total rest and relaxation, and The Dutch Barn provided it.
It is so peaceful and watching the sunrise and sunset each day from the clever upstairs living accommodation was a delight. Jackie and her team made us feel very welcome including the local produce hamper which was really appreciated. All of the facilities are well judged for short stays and the beds can only result in sound sleep. Located in the countryside but so central to reach all of the sights of Herefordshire with ease. We would thoroughly recommend this modern character property as a base for a most enjoyable holiday in this lovely county. Nick

We needed a few days of peace and quiet in beautiful surroundings and that's exactly what we got. A beautifully presented and immaculate cottage with everything we could have needed and more. It was spotless, so comfortable, light, airy, and being able to open the large bifold doors on the first floor living space just invited the outside in and was absolutely heavenly. A huge thanks to our host, Jackie, for thinking of absolutely everything we might have needed and for being so welcoming - and the goodie basket on arrival was above and beyond but such a treat. We most certainly want to return and it will definitely be for a longer trip next time - we really didn't want to leave! We would highly recommend The Dutch Barn to everyone.

Fantastic barn in beautiful rural location.
The barn is very well equipped with everything in very good condition. Comfortable beds and luxurious towels etc. The hosts really care about great hospitality. Highly recommend.
Absolute gem of a find.
We went purely to relax and enjoy the property and surroundings and it didn't disappoint. The Dutch Barn was beautiful inside and out. The welcome basket was lovely and it was nice to know the owner was available if needed. The hot tub was divine and the robes were very handy. We didn't want for anything as the attention to detail throughout was perfect. It was comfortable and so quiet. We loved it and unusually for us, we plan to return asap. Thank you very much.

What a super property everything you could wish for was there.
The welcome pack was superb. We went at christmas and the barn was beautifully festively decorated the hot tub was a welcome relaxing place.
Great place to have a short break, the accommodation was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and exactly as described in a beautiful part of the country.

This property is beautifully styled.
Bedrooms downstairs afford easy access to the hot tub, then a change of clothing. Open plan living area upstairs offers fabulous countryside views. Very well equipped. Great location for peace and/or exploring the area. Lots of tourist info and local walks available at property too. Friendly & efficient communication with owner. Will return.

By far the best self-catering break we’ve had. The Barn offered comfort, peacefulness, excellent facilities and full relaxation. The owners are lovely and it was great to meet the dogs and Billy the cat and watch the cows grazing in the orchard next to us. We loved everything about it and we will definitely return. The Barn offers fantastic accommodation which is very light and airy.
The location is extremely quiet and The Barn was spotlessly clean as well as being very well equipped. It is well located for general shopping in Leominster as well as being halfway between Hereford and Ludlow which offer a variety of high quality dining experiences. It is without doubt an amazing area for top quality gardens open to the public which was the main reason for our visit. Ludlow Castle, Weston's Cider Tours and Mortimer Forest for walks were additional attractions for us. We very much hope to return soon as there are many more gardens still to visit especially towards Wales.

My second 7 day visit in 3 months, which should show just how impressive this place is.
A few very pleasant and tranquil summery evenings, enjoyed with nothing but birdsong accompanyment, to go with the view of unspoilt classic British rolling countryside. As relaxing as you could ever ask for. You have Leominster 10 minutes down the road, so access to 3 supermarkets, and a full range of facilities on the high street, typical of a small British countryside type of town. So quick and easy to get to.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at the Dutch barn.
It is beautifully decorated, well thought-out and equipped with everything you could need. The hot tub is a great addition and enabled us to keep the boys busy on rainy days. The hot tub robes were also a nice touch. The accommodation is very comfortable with quality furnishings. The barn is on a working farm but we were not disturbed once. The owners live close by but respect your privacy but were equally very responsive and helpful if needed. We really enjoyed exploring the local area. You are spoilt for choice when it comes to castles and historic buildings. We particularly enjoyed Hereford Cathedral, the chain library and the Mappa Mundi are a must see. The cafe was also really good. Homemade quiches and fresh salads. We thoroughly enjoyed Ludlow castle (a well preserved ruin which seems a bit of contradiction) . We also paid a visit to Croft Castle which is more of a stately home and there’s not as much to do there on a wet day but we did enjoy the tour of the house. Not as great in terms of value for money as Ludlow or Hereford cathedral. For something different and despite not being cider drinkers we did the Weston’s Cider factory tour which was fab. Surprisingly Family friendly too. Nice cafe there. Finally we went to Monkland Dairy. We didn’t do the tour but the lady in the shop was lovely, let us sample their 6 cheeses and the cheese makers both came out and had a chat to our boys. They watched the machinery through a little viewing window . The cheeses are delicious! Great holiday, lovely setting and plenty of things to do.

What a phenomenal place!
We loved being able to relax and unwind. The Dutch Barn is exceptionally comfortable, brilliantly equipped and has spectacular views from the upstairs living space. It is a beautifully airy, open place with a view from every window, either across the fields, over the orchard where the sheep graze or across to the hills in the distance. The spa hot tub was superbly looked after by Jackie. It was a pure delight to sit under the stars in the hot water and to just sit and chat. Every need was catered for in the Barn. We thoroughly enjoyed the welcome pack which featured local produce which was a lovely touch. The kitchen was very well thought out with condiments, cling film, foil, bags, clips, utensils all available for use. Overall, we will definitely be back. Truly one of the best places we have stayed in. Thank you so much for an incredible week.

The Dutch Barn was perfect for our staycation.
The photos don’t prepare you for the fantastic feeling you get when you walk in. A perfect home from home with everything you could want for a relaxing holiday. We spent most evenings on the spacious balcony enjoying the peace and quiet. There are some great walks from the door, so you don’t need to get in the car. Members of the local golf club were friendly and welcoming. The local pub was a short walk away and has a lovely beer garden. Jackie and Peter couldn’t have done more to make our stay a perfect one. Thanks for the lovely welcome hamper and the beans! We enjoyed seeing them harvested and sharing the story ( and the beans) when we returned home.

We were fortunate with the weather and enjoyed relaxing after a day's activities either in the hot tub, at the outdoor area or on the spacious balcony. The Dutch Barn was the perfect staycation!
We had the most relaxing stay for a week. It was equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay. The open plan lounge and kitchen have wonderful views overlooking the countryside. The sunrise and sunsets were picturesque. The beds were comfortable and convenient for access to the hot tub. Thanks to Jackie for being a wonderful, kind and helpful host. We are already planning another stay.

The perfect place to stay for a week’s staycation especially as the weather wasn’t too kind to us.
The Dutch Barn definitely had the WOW factor. We had everything we needed in a perfect setting. We had a lovely hamper of local products, including a bottle of wine and apple juice waiting for us on arrival. Jackie was there at the end of the phone if we needed her and even offered to let us stay an extra night in order to avoid travelling home with Storm Eunice causing havoc throughout the south where we had to travel to. Highly recommended.

The barn is in such a great location to see animals which are right on your door step. There is so much to do in the area with lots of places to eat if you are too lazy to cook (which i was) . Jackie the hostess is so lovely if you need anything or need to know something you receive an answer straight away and she left a beautiful hamper for us all. The owners were helpful without being intrusive. The views from our 'upside down' contemporary barn were constantly amazing. Everything was well thought out and to a high specification. Highly recommended.
It was a great place to come back to after we had spent our days out exploring.
We enjoyed relaxing in the garden, playing badminton on the grass. The hot tub was fantastic. We had several bbqs as well. We loved our stay here.

Unfortunately due to covid we had to move it through to 2021. Jackie was so helpful with sorting it out. It was worth the wait. It was as lovely and relaxing as we had hoped for. The standard just as a high. A beautiful place, a lovely host family. Thank you Jackie for your welcome. We hope to be back. Its our chill out place in a beautiful area.
Probably the best holiday accommodation I have experienced.
Jackie the owner has thought of absolutely everything to make this accommodation comfortable as well as stylish. The Dutch Barn is located in a stunningly beautiful area with some fabulous walks and attractions within easy reach. I can absolutely recommend The Dutch Barn for a superb holiday.
I have no problems whatsoever with the Dutch Barn.
My dissatisfaction is purely with Sykes and the way I was treated when my booking had to be changed because of Government restrictions due to COVID. There was no “give” at all …it was their way or the highway and if I decided to cancel “they would come after me for the balance of the deposit”. You wouldn’t allow me to change properties even though the rent for the Dutch Barn would be increased by OVER £700 to £1183 for the same week 12 months hence. This is just pure greed by Sykes who just see commission,commission commission!!!

The owners are really friendly and have included some very thoughtful touches that make it extra special. Some great walks from the doorstep which leaflets are provided for. If you fancy a meal out we highly recommend the Stockton cross which is only a short walk away.
A lovely quiet location with fields all around.
Beautifully laid out/decorated barn and not far from the nearest town. Even saw a lamb born as it was lambing season. Would definitely go back and take friends next time.

We had a fantastic stay at the Dutch Barn over the October half term week with our four-year old and baby.
The barn had everything we needed and more, with stunning views over the countryside and hot tub we used everyday. It was a great escape from everyday life. The hosts Jackie and Pete were so accommodating and our son loved looking round the farm to see the animals and apple harvesting. The surrounding area had so much to do, including local walks from the barn and day trips further afield. We’d definitely recommend to anyone, and look forward to coming back one day.

Despite coming up as detached on searches this property is actually semi-detached.
The fridge freezer has a very tiny freezer section. Heating is not controllable except by the owners. Overall the property was excellent and we would return.
A beautiful modern, light, airy property with everything you could need, set in rolling farmland with an abundance of wildlife and wonderful walks from the door.

The property was finished to a very high standard. Had everything you needed. Hosts were lovely. Had a great time in these very challenging times. Was a perfect place to isolate. Hamper was great, really enjoyed it. Especially the cider. Would recommend to everyone.
Its was a lovely break away ,the Dutch barn is a beautiful place such lovely surroundings and such a relaxing time in the hot tub , it was the perfect place to propose to my girlfriend and the owners are lovely people they left a lovely hamper for us when we arrived and when they found out about the engagement they brought over a congratulations card and a bottle of wine to celebrate will definitely be going back again
This place is honestly amazing and although the photos online look beautiful, it’s even more beautiful when you arrive.
Every little detail was thought of and we had a really lovely time and instantly felt at home when we arrived! There are some lovely places to visit nearby although the barn itself is lovely to be at if you don’t want to venture out! We will defo be back in the future!

The pictures just do not do it justice, we couldn’t believe it when we drove up the lane & saw the barn for the first time. By far the most amazing property we have stayed at, a very high standard throughout, well equipped and a fabulous welcome pack! There was plenty to do in the area, including walks from the doorstep, National Trust and a great pub within walking distance. Having two washrooms was a bonus, especially with the hot tub - which we loved! Just sitting out on the top deck with a book was enjoyable and the children spent the week playing in the garden with the badminton set. Being at the barn was so relaxing, would thoroughly recommend a week here!

We had a lovely time staying at the Dutch Barn.
It's really well decked out and we were made to feel so welcome when we arrived. You get fantastic views from inside and there are nice walks and places to cycle in the local area. The house itself had everything we needed, with a very well equipped kitchen, as well as lots of things you wouldn't expect like board games and laundry items which were an added extra. It's really special to be staying on a working farm and seeing the activity going on in the fields. The location is really well situated for visiting local sites and landmarks with a number of interesting towns and attractions nearby. Jackie was lovely and we really enjoyed the odd visit from one of the sheep-dogs.

The Dutch Barn is a fantastic property in a lovely location.
It is spotlessly clean and well equipped. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony in the sunshine, soaking in the hot tub and watching the sun set. We slept well in the massive, comfortable bed. Also liked the powerful shower. The welcome hamper, fresh flowers and fruit were much appreciated. There is plenty to see and do in the area. The owners are friendly and helpful but not intrusive.
The Dutch Barn, is a beautiful conversion, very stylish and comfortable in a lovely peaceful position, with outstanding views.
We had a very restful week, we were reluctant to leave and have already booked for next year. The owners were very welcoming and helpful and had thought of all the finer details, we arrived to a lovely starter pack. There was so much to do and visit in the area, we can't wait to come back. Thank you Jackie and Peter for creating, such an interesting and beautiful property, that felt like home.
