As a wheelchair user this is the perfect accommodation, spacious, clean, well equipped spacious wet room.

Very peaceful and relaxing area with wonderful view from cottage. Plenty of places around for meals out.

The bungalow is great.

Plenty of space. The facilities are fantastic. Every thing that you could need is there. The owners, who live next door, are very helpful. The area is very quiet but only a short drive to Ryde.

We had a wonderful time staying in this delightful cottage that is well situated with lovely views from the lounge patio doors.

The cottage is very clean and well laid out especially for myself as a wheelchair user. The rooms are spacious and the bathroom has an excellent shower with a bath seat. A very well equipped kitchen and a thoughtfully designed bedroom with a good make-up area. The owners are very kind and helpful should you need any information about the area. All in all another great visit as this was our third time there and we are returning again later in the summer!

Excellent accommodation.

So clean, well equipped and comfortable. The hosts are lovely and on-hand if you need them. Really well placed for tranquility but also close to some excellent places to visit (Quarr Abbey, Fishguard, Havenstreet steam railway, Osbourne, Carisbrook castle and pretty village pubs with good pub grub!). The view from the lounge is breathtaking, just gentle rolling hills and countryside. Everything was quality and comfort. We (and Disney Boxer) would highly recommend 2 The Stables.

I found the property in very good order.

It was warm and comfortable with all the facilities I required The host Mrs Wilks was pleasant and informative of the island which helped make the stay welcoming.

This accomodation was in a most beautiful location, very quiet, surrounded by horses and sheep.

What I loved most was how spotlessly clean it was. I would definitely highly recommend it and hopefully get to stay again ourselves.

We were given a friendly welcome when we arrived.

This is well equipped, high quality, holiday accommodation. Spacious lounge, bedroom and Shower room which was ideal for a wheelchair user. Immaculately clean. Great views from the lounge, which leads to a gravel garden area. A variety of animals in the fields beyond to watch.

This is our second stay here.

This place is great for people with mobility issues especially the wet room and electric recliner and easy lift chairs. The view out the back is lovely with the farm animals grazing. Quiet apart from the wildlife occasionally making their point.

Well what can I say fantastic place have been before very pleased with the property and hellen the owner can't do enough for you everything spotless everything provide again would recommend

This property and the other two in the same location were rented for a family get together and we were all very pleased with the accommodation.

The owner was helpful and very pleasant and keeps the stables accommodation in good condition. We would certainly recommend these properties and would use them again. It is a beautiful location.

All on ground level, super comfortable, spotless and thoughtfully laid out, everything you could possibly want available and a lovely friendly pony and cob horse come to say hello at the bottom of the garden each day. So peaceful and perfect for getting to places to see. Owner is so kind and friendly. You will adore staying here.

The rooms are spacious and the wet room is ideal and very nicely planned out. I really appreciated the dressing table area in the bedroom and the bedside table with a draw. It's small things like this that makes a property stand out. Someone has really thought it through. We could have done with more cutlery (particularly teaspoons) and small plates as we were constantly washing up but that was a minor issue. We would certainly come back to this property again. In fact this is our second visit.

2 The Stables was a perfect retreat for me and my husband, who has mobility issues.

It is well laid out with plenty of room to manoeuvre and has a spacious wet room. The view is absolutely stunning and access good. The twin reclining chairs are much appreciated, much better than having to use a booster cushion on a sofa as so often is the case. It was reassuring to know Helen was on hand should we need her and she responded very quickly when I had a question. We won’t hesitate returning here, we were very comfortable.

No problems, nice place for a stay.

This a lovely place to stay.

It is less than a 10 minute drive from Ryde where we walked our dog along the beach every evening and enjoyed the friendliness of the locals doing the same. The Steam railway is well worth a visit and again less than ten minutes from the accommodation. The place itself was clean, well maintained and ever so comfortable. It is on the owners smallholding where she keeps pony’s. These are friendly and come up to the back fence to say hello. We had a lovely stay and will definitely be returning early next year.

Perfectly positioned home with great accessible facilities.I am in a wheelchair but great for my able bodied husband. Easy to access all the sites on the island. Lovely to be part of a working smallhold ,daily visitations from sheep,rabbits and birds of prey Great information if wanted by Helen and Paul.

The place was clean and facilities were excellent.

The view from the garden was wonderful.just a couple of minor points, the sauce pans need replacing as they wobble on the job and a set of tongs would be useful. We know the area so we was ok for some one new info about local shops would be useful. We would definitely make a return visit

This has to be one of the most perfect properties for us.

We have to look for something with few or no steps also ease of access to shower facilities. This fitted perfectly also the addition of two rise and recline chairs was such a blessing. The kitchen is well equipped with all utensils and electric goods etc. The building was faultless. The views have to be seen to be believed with the occasional visiting flock of sheep. Also Flossie our collie loved it. The location of the property is well within most locations on the island with a 20 min drive. We are looking at coming back soon in the Peak when more places are open. Thank you to the owners of a wonderful property. We enjoyed our stay.

The property is well situated for touring the I.O.W. There are beautiful views across the island and if you like a peaceful retreat this is perfect with everything you need in this well appointed accommodation. Should you have mobility issues this property has been designed with this in mind. Your four legged friend is also welcome at this property. We certainly recommend this property and hope to return sometime in the future. Thanks to Helen & Paul.

We were welcomed on arrival by the owner which really made us feel at home.

We specifically chose this property as it was listed as accessible and it did not disappoint. Great views from the patio and close to a lot of amenities and activities. The property is well equipped with lovely recliner/riser chairs. I’ve recommended The Stables to my in laws.

Regrettably the double bed would only be a double bed for two stick people or, at least one stick person and a normal sized person.

I had to sleep on one (admittedly comfortable) relaxing chairs. Either way, the bedding was inadequate with the duvet only just reaching over the edges of the mattress and failing to do so when even only (of necessity) one person slept in the bed. It was advertised as an 'accessible' cottage and to a large degree it was, although an able bodied person would need to be on hand to open - let alone unlock and open - the main door. It certainly was accessible. However, I was concerned that the wet room didn't seem to have a very non-slip, non-slip floor and despite the availability of a stool, there was only one grab rail which I felt was inadequate for using the shower. Otherwise, the cottage was well furnished and comfortable and sufficient kitchenware for two people. It was a nightmare trying to get hold of Helen Wilkes but she was very apologetic when she arrived after a bad morning - and we all have those! We were unable to find any information about leaving the cottage and were unable to get hold of Helen to find out where to leave the key on our departure. (It's in the door by the way)

What a fabulous wheelchair friendly property with everything we needed for a comfortable weeks holiday.

The views from the property are lovely and the cottage is set in a lovely quiet location, having a spacious bathroom and parking close by were especially helpful to me. It was lovely to watch the horses in the field at the end of the garden with a lovely chilled glass of wine after a long day site seeing. We will be back xx

Had every thing we required and more, cottage very clean and comfortable. Good location for days out. Helen came and greeted us on arrival giving us a lot of useful local information. Would definitely come back here if we return to the Isle of Wight which we probably will do in the future.l

2 The stables was like a home from home.

Lovely and clean and comfortable with everything you might need. Helen and Paul were very welcoming and were there if there was anything we needed, not that we needed anything. The views from the garden were stunning. I would definitely recommend this for a lovely peaceful holiday.

Due to my husbands disability we needed to sleep in twin beds and although they were comfortable they were very narrow which was a shame. Overall, really nice stay, very peaceful with lovely views.

It was very comfortable, we enjoyed the new reclining chairs. It is very suitable for anyone with disability issues. Are only complaint was the DVD player wasn’t compatible with the Smart TV so that facility should be removed from your website. The property is modern including the internal fittings/furniture and all to a very high standard. The owners are very obliging and offer help when required without being intrusive.

We absolutely loved our trip.

Helen and Paul were very accommodating and the whole cottage was brilliant - it has everything we needed and everything was thought of. Even when we had a powercut Helen popped around with a torch. Travelling during covid is always a bit nervy but we found everything was spotlessly clean, and felt very safe with social distancing and a box of essentials that had been set up and not touched for days. The cottage was warm and cosy and garden very secure for our dog. View is beautiful and the whole scenery of the IOW was spectacular. If we ever return to the island we would go back to the Stables and will recommend to anyone planning to go.

Lovely accommodation in a peaceful location for exploring the Isle of Wight.

Hosts were very welcoming and to made us snd our dog feel very much at home.

We received a warm welcome from the owners who explained how everything worked.

This included informing us about COVID19 protocols that were currently in place. The cottage was spotlessly clean and we enjoyed a quiet and relaxing week in our comfortable surroundings. The cottage is ideally placed for travel around the island. We highly recommend it to other visitors and hope to return ourselves in future.

Very clean and smart. View across the valley from the lounge and front garden superb - amazing (full) moonrise! We appreciated having the picnic table and chairs - we ate out in the garden ever meal.

Nice and quiet but only 2 miles from Ryde town centre. Big wet room shower, comfy bed. Plenty of storage. Lovely view. Oh and the sheep were great.

It would of helped to put the address and postcode on the email we received, there are a lot of Stables near Ryde , we didn't know it was called Overdene Chase .

The owner Helen was approachable and made the start of our visit relaxing.

She produced a small ramp immediately for me, as I was aware of a step at the front door. Also Helen produced a sturdy seat to help me in the walk in wheel in shower. These items gve me confidence and was able to just concentrate on the holiday. We looked out at a field of goats and sheep and our little garden was enclosed allowing my little dog some freedom. The whole cottage was very clean and we were asked if any light bulbs we blown or if we needed more of the natural products Helen likes to use, just ask. We will certainly be going again, hopefully next year.

A very comfortable cottage which was well equipped with everything you would need for a great holiday.

The huge bed was nice and comfortable, great for a good night's sleep. The owners, Helen & Paul, were very nice and welcoming and were there if needed, but everything was satisfactory and we did not need to contact them. The views from the garden were absolutely stunning and we could not have wished for better. In the adjoining paddocks there were sheep and Shetland ponies which were lovely to watch while sitting in the garden, which was very dog friendly and our dog also enjoyed her holiday. The cottage was a great base to go exploring and it was fairly easy getting around the island. We would definitely recommend and look forward to returning soon.

great place to have a holiday very quite would go back again

Adequate cottage, just needed a few things to sruce it up a little, the back garden was untidy, weeds and nettles growing through the flags, plastic scruffy deck chairs that needed cleaning before arrival of guests, the cottage was comfy and clean, and was a good base for our stay.

. the cottage does however get very hot so a fan would have been a bonus...

An excellent and well appointed property with outstanding views across the countryside.

Helen the owner who lives nearby was there to greet us on arrival and she and her husband Paul were in contact regularly to check that all was well. We were staying for the whole month of February and the central heating was very efficient and easy to control. We did find that the reclining mechanism on the armchair was rather to difficult to activate and release. The flat panel TV in the lounge was excellent as was the DVD player, the only thing we missed was a TV or Radio in the bedroom. There is a huge Tesco Extra Supermarket just 8-10 minutes drive away..

Cottage was in an ideal position for looking round the island.
