Had a lovely week at Sweet Briars, great location, lovely big garden, close to big local pub serving decent pub grub.
Would definitely go back again.
We had a fantastic week here from 11th–18th September and really didn’t want to leave!
The house is full of character, warm and cosy, with a peaceful countryside setting. It was spacious and very comfortable for the three of us. The garden is just magical with fabulous sea and sunset views down the end A little extra attention to some of the kitchen items that need replacing and some extra deep cleaning overall would be a nice finishing touch, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is ideal tucked away from the busy towns but within easy reach of everything we wanted to explore. We particularly enjoyed the nearby Wight Mouse Inn, with fantastic food and atmosphere and a Sunday roast to die for! Shanklin Old Village, Chine and the Esplanade were favourites too, and we highly recommend The Steamer Inn. Carisbrooke Castle, Osborne House and The Needles all were within easy reach by car or bus and were all stunning and well worth visiting. We would definitely come again and highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful base from which to explore the Isle of Wight.
Sweet Briars is an older property offering a character cottage on the south coast of the IOW.
Plenty of space with a living room and parlour to chose from for relaxing. As well as an extensive garden on warm and sunny days. Saw a beautiful sunset from the end of the garden. Met Sam, the cleaner on our arrival. The facilities were spotless..Just be aware you are in the countryside and expect the odd spider. Very quiet location with easy access to the coast and walks on offer in the local area. Also good routes to the more commercial towns in the North. You can walk to the popular local pub, The Wight Mouse for an evening meal. Remember your torch on darker nights for walking home Thank you for our comfortable stay
